Essentially the problem is the cost of imaging is too high....drop the price and have imaging every year for every person like a dental checkup and we will get ahead of most of the problems. This is honestly ridiculous that a 20-year-old technology, that hasn't been innovated on still costs this much. We need change and the current companies should be massively ashamed of themselves.
problem is mri is resources heavy its pretty much a massive chunk of precision magnets being hulled around and turn by giant motors at speed maintain by highly paid technician and operated by highly paid doctors and all this is done by company that needs to make often high margin business models
Thank you for sharing this encouraging news. My husband had Whipple in March and just completed 12 rounds of chemo. I am scared to death of losing him. 💜🙏🎗
@@stacylbrewer my husband had it in the head of the pancreas. Whipples procedure, them chemo. Chemo gemcidibide ( not sure how to spell it) had to be stopped as it blew him up like a Michelin man, filled his lungs and body with fluid. Well he is a fighter and still going strong. There is hope so we must be positive.
Hi Glenda really pleased your husband is well but you and most of us with Pancan know that he is one of the incredibly lucky few, this disease takes few prisoners.
@@stacylbrewer Hi Stacy the very fact that your husband has had a Whipple means his life expectancy has already been greatly improved, the Whipple is the only known cure for this dam awful cancer your man will be just fine.
I totally agree about the cost. 100%. Unfortunately though, some diseases are just too much for the body, money or not. Otherwise, Steve Jobs would have been able to buy his survival.
My husband's pancreatic cancer tumor was 4 mm. It's surrounded a major artery surgeon said he could not retract it would kill him..MY HUSBAND DIED 4 MOnths later...HE HAD UNRGONE CHEMO, ANS MASSIVE RADIATION B4 SURGERY.
its a miracle that all i can say either it a miracle that you found it at stage 0-1 and even then tis only a coin toss chance of curing it or you super lucky that your body seem to react extremely well to treatment a 1 in 100 chance.
My hubby would not go to the Doctor till he was to weak to stand up. From the time he was told he had stage 4 pancreatic cancer, to the day he died was less than 30 days. Please do not wait till it is too late.
I had a CT scan of my lungs (pulmonary embolisms) that showed multiple IPMN cysts on my pancreas. No symptoms and blood work was negative. That was three years ago. I've had repeat CT scans and endoscopic ultrasounds and biopsies. All negative. So far so good. Cysts have not grown in size.
My wife had symptoms in September, diagonised in October, past away 26th December. Please people, early diagnosis is the key, if you have a family history of cancer , get any unusual abdominal pains, tummy bloating, back pain or loss of appetite checked out by doctor ASAP.
I am 63 single my ex girlfriend is also dying of cancer and we don't have kids I have an angel of a brother and many cousins who live in Italy and they pray for me daily which that can only explain why I am still among you thank you all
My brother died 10 days after diagnosis of stage 4 metastatic pancreatic cancer. He had gone to the ER with back pain that spread to the abdomen and new abdominal bloating. We thought maybe bowel obstruction/gas pain. Boy were we wrong
My ex husband was diagnosed in December 2022 pancreas cancer and passed away February 2023. It was so sudden, my heart breaks for my children their dad was only 50 years old. We are Totally l devastated 💔💔💔💔
Sorry to hear this. I just lost my good friend to this also so sudden. He was diagnosed March 2023 and just passed away June 2023. 😢 He will be missed. He was only 53. I love you Sonny…. 😔😔😔
My dad was diagnosed with it at 45 after my mum noticed he started looking jaundice, he had half his pancreas removed the chemo and went onto live till he was 55. Unfortunately it came back in his bowl and stomach 😔 He was such a strong man, physically and mentally and never let us see his struggling. My hero ❤️
@@Michellemutts7848 yes 10 more years is beautiful but not enough.. My daughter passed away from leukemia at 9 years old. I had 9 beautiful years with her but it wasn't enough.
@@tita8202 Im sorry to hear that, I can't imagine how hard that was losing a child. Sadly some angels aren't here with us for that long cos they are needed elsewhere but their energy and memories will always be with us ❤️
2 June 2023, 8 years post-modified Whipple for an adenocarcinoma in the head of my pancreas. There are no signs of recurrence. I was 58 went diagnosed. I had an early diagnosis, Stage IB, which was followed by surgery and chemo. My main symptom was mostly painless jaundice, which raised my PCP's suspicions over the cause. He got me into the Uni MD med center in Baltimore, where they had the expertise and equipment my county hospital does not. I was the 3rd of 4 known cases in my family. The other were maternal side, were diagnosed in Stage IV and did not survive: grandmother, uncle and a male 1st cousin.
Same here, painless jaundice, quick diagnosis and now 7 months post Whipple. procedure. 12 sessions of chemo following. Last session next week. Feeling ok but so unsure of my future.
My loved one is a three and half year survivor. Diagnosed stage 3. Had a Whipple procedure, then six months of adjuvant Gemzar and Xeloda. Then radiation with more Gemzar. One year NED. Started treatment for lung mets six months ago. Gemzar and targeted radiation. Still fighting. Still beating the odds. Still grateful to be alive.
@@kashmirpurelove1 He is still fighting this disease. He has remained on Gemzar chemo the past four and a half years, which has helped keep his disease from spreading to other parts of the body. He is now two months away from being a five year survivor. Still fighting. Still beating the odds. Still grateful to be alive.
We buried my husband's lifetime friend today. He was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer on 10th December 2022 and he died on 30 December 2022. He had back pains about 7 months ago which he thought was due to work, went for full blood count and everything was normal. Then he started having stomach pains and bloating and he was given nexium. A few weeks later the stomach pains got worse and he turned yellow; went to the hospital, that's when they diagnosed him. They told him he had a few weeks or days to live. He prayed to spend Christmas with his 3 little children aged 9, 7 and 5 and now he is gone never to return! God help his family and everyone who is sick...
for my mother it was. Six months before she was diagnosed she complained of back pain, even had images, nothing showed up. Things got worse and she had more images. Finally when the cancer was visible it had already spread.
I wish the question would have been asked to the doctor about DIET playing a role in pancreatic cancer. What foods help cut down on the chances of getting this cancer and what foods increase the chances?
I had abdominal pain. Wemt ER. They did CT without contrast. Found nothing. Week later my urologist did CT WITH contrast for my kidney. Found 4 cm mass on pancreas. Lesions on my liver. DEMAND CONTRAST
Well I am on my 5th year I already done 20 months of palliative chemotherapy I was hospitalized 4 x for 2 months it is spreading and I am a diabetic and more complications have been added on with all the narcotic I take ketamine 3 x a day 83mlg of methadone 3 x a day and 12 mgs of morphine 2 a day + 18 mlgs at night along with ketorolac it's only 4 months now it saved my life back in September but now causing other side effects with my blood pressure it's benine they say but I lose control and fall down so since I am Canadian I have the right to die in3 months I need your advice if anyone has a fresh outlook or anything positive I can work with ,thank you

"We don't have a good detection. You can have a tiny little cancer, and you can operate on it, but it still has a high risk of coming back," - Dr. Mary Mulcahy
I take your advice about liquid diet. It help the body and panckreace. I belive in couple of years we can be cured. For now weed help lot. Health is with you too Dolow. 🌟🌟🌟🍀
These scientifically oriented doctors when asked an important question in specific terms answers "that could be a tough hill to climb", really not providing any useful info to us, on that point. Otherwise, I thought the info he wasn't hedging about was very helpful and forthcoming.
Its hard to provide any useful Info when even with low stages of this cancer survival rate is under 10%. My grandpa had it and he was gone after 1 Month post diagnosis and according to doctor that was long time since most people go out in 2-3 Weeks. We need new meds for this one asap.
Nobody mentions that chemo helps with pain from tumor, bloat, inflammation. I was miserable when first diagnosed. So much pain. After second chem I felt so much better. Pain free. Living life again for as long as I can.
It’s December 17 2021 she had back pain stomach pain the doctor said stage 4 pancreas cancer liver when we pray she sleeps good she is 68 I am 64 specialist sports nutrition weight management specialist studying health coach
My Father died of pancreatic cancer, and my Mother's family is riddled with this devastating disease. Trying to come to terms with this information. I still know that Jesus Christ holds the keys to life and death. Thank God.
I am dieing of cancer and kidney disease and kidney failure and my blood pressure ski high won't drop down all day today ready to have heart attack I am crying 😭
my mom have stage 4 adreno carcinoma with peritoneal metastasis she currently on chemo its been 6 months now she still able to walk eat and live relatively a normal life the gem/nab she on seems to be effective because its showing great response.
I am being treated for pancreatic cancer. It is considered locally advanced, involving the SMV (splenic mesenteric vein) It's encapsulated, but not penetrated. Tumor marker went from 300 to 61. Next CT scan will be performed at the end of May 2021. I'm fighting it all the way. God bless.
@@DMH031956 that is a brilliant attitude. I lost my sister to pancreatic cancer hence my original comment but when I read stories like yours it helps me feel positive and I know treatments are evolving constantly. God bless you too and keep fighting ❤️
