I like the job upgrades aspect because, although the job itself is a rabbithole, this mechanic can lead the character down different paths depending on their choices. It might trigger opportunities from the townies, or take you to a branch of the character's personality that you can evolve. They can also shape the kind of job the character might take later on. I'm so excited for this game.
Already a problem. This is not the sims 4 and it never was… why are we still comparing? We now know the flow is different , objectives are different just by the announced development. It’s not the sims 4 nor should the sims be bashed because paralives is creating their own lane. Just let them create good simulation games. Yes, sims did a novel thing for gaming back in the day.. can we end there? Or the next simulator games coming out will be also “better than the sims 4, 5, 6 maybe? Maybe sims 15?” Like idk depends what you want to play?? I think we are now beating a dead… plant (sim) 😂.
I think it’s actually very different from the sims! It’s a beautiful looking kind of “cozy game”. The sims has a very iconic kind of style, where as this feels a lot more independent and kind of has its own genre in life simulation. I love the look of it! I just really hope it doesn’t become a thing that people argue over. I’d hate for people to have an on going debate about it like how people have been about roller skates and rollerblades. We should just let this be its own game without trying to make it another “sims” I love life simulations and I’m glad we’re getting another one. I have always loved the sims, but I love the idea of having different games in the genre. They’ll offer different things and scratch different itches for me. One isn’t better than the other. I’ll sometimes play the sims and sometimes play paralives or another game. That’s the beauty of options.
It has a bit of like a... TV ad vibe. Systems seem good and all but it lacks some identity, which is what made (at least the earlier) The Sims games stand out even more.

At this point, what life sim wouldn't be better than the sims 4? The Sims 4 is just an old game, any game that comes out in this space would be better. Now that I'm done being fair, I would like to clarify the Sims 4 is trash for so many reasons! I just love the fact that all these promising life sims are coming out! Finally we have options! Anyway, Paralives is shaping up to be a great one! The art style, the vibe, the customization, the everything! The job system looks really cool too!
