The rumors say Pikmin 4s development had to start over at one point and has been a low priority ever since.. But there is a small dedicated pikmin team always making progress on the next one
ミク Deviluke Hey! Pikmin was very close to release (about a month) at the time Miyamoto spoke in 2017, and Miyamoto stated Pikmin 4 was “well into development”.
I think the port of Pikmin 3 on switch could help with convincing Nintendo. A lot of early pikmin fans have not played it for the bad results of the wii u.
You know what'd be sweet? If it had to die, it could go out holding by a thread with a Pikmin Maker. Kind of like how Mario Maker is dying but still is counting on people to make new levels. (Also I know there's a Pikmin 2 cave randomizer, but it's unofficial)
@@Xero-qx1xy I wouldn't say it's trash, but it's undoubtedly the worst of the 3. It was 1 step forwards, 2 steps back. Removing the things that made P2 so good really hurts it.
Mewtastic and it was just really boring, the new pikmin species were really lame, in the way they were used too, no dungeons killed it and the enemies werent frightening at all, the game was too kid-ish to enjoy for me
I'll never give up hope, Pikmin 4 is my dream Nintendo game. It will come, one day, one day. Nintendo is appealing to every fan with every IP they have. Once this phase of bigger IPs end, it will come. I REFUSE TO BELIEVE THAT PIKMIN 4 WON'T COME! We waited 9 years for Pikmin 3, we can wait just as long if we have to. Please Nintendo, it must come.
@@Asakedia Yeah the length between 2 and 3 was 9 years now it's been 7. My comment was a bit of a unintelligible rant since I'm very passionate about the series. I played the original when I was very little some time after the 2nd came out. I never beat it but I loves it, I then played 3 back when I got the Wii U one Christmas in 2012, and some time after my little brother and I picked out a game for it, I ended up choosing none other than Pikmin 3, my current favorite. After I 100% completed 3 like 4 times over and bought all the mission modes, I decided to replay the entire series starting with the first. First tine beating it and plating 2. Good times.
You think you have it bad. I want F-Zero to come back, and Nintendo says they don't know what to do with it. I already know a good amount of things they can do to make it worth the 60 dollar price.
I haven't watched the video, so I'm not sure if there's news on the matter. But if it is coming, it's likely just taking it's sweet time. I mean the 3rd entry came out 9 years after Pikmin 2. So it's possible the game has a slow burn release.
Last Wario Land related game was I believe either the Wii one or the DS Master of Disguise... Miyamoto said that F-Zero needed a Gimmick, and I think Punch-Out would likely need something new too, as the last game was more a retro-remaster-esque ordeal.
You gotta remember, they did the EXACT same thing with Pikmin 3. After 2 was released Miamoto announced that there will be a new pikmin in development for the next console, that being the Wii. But other than that and a fighter cameo in SMB Brawl, we got no other news for Pikmin 3 until the announcement for the Wii U. Between release of Pikmin 2 and the announcement and release for Pikmin 3, it took a solid 8 years for that to come out. Seeing how the patterns are going (announcing a new game after the release of the recent, saying it's for the next console or this console but release a new one so they have to restart, holding up hunger with a fighter cameo in Smash/side game.) My guess is, it's going to be at least another 5 years till we hear something new. Or if we're really unlucky another 8. Or if we're EXTREMELY unlucky, it's cancelled.
Imagine nintendo publishes a random youtube video at a random time, like a few seconds teaser of Pikmin 4 out of nowhere. I can really imagine nintendo being that kind of a troll xP
Pikmin 3 Deluxe actually gives me hope for Pikmin 4. What it is isn't Nintendo handing us something we didn't ask for and pretending it's what we wanted, like Mojang every time they update Minecraft and it's not a cave update. This is Nintendo trying to see how people like the way Pikmin plays on the Switch, while also buying themselves more time to finish up Pikmin 4 while us impatient fans scour every inch of 3 Deluxe for new content. Don't give up hope, guys!
Not to mention that metroid prime 4 had restarted development so that could have happened to pikmin. Plus they could be trying to hype up the series with 3 DX
My best guess at the release date of Pikmin 4 (if it's coming) would be October 26 2021, the 20th anniversary of the release of Pikmin 1 in Japan. If not, it could be December 2nd 2021 or June 14th 2022, the 20th anniversaries of the release of Pikmin 1 in other places. Of course, if they do plan to release Pikmin 4 on the anniversary, it probably won't be exactly on the same day.
You should totally play the 3 games. The wait for pikmin 4 is going to be a LOOOOOOONG one. Use dolphin emulator for pikmin's 1 and 2 of you don't have gamecube/wii. For pikmin 3 use Cemu emulator of you dont have the Wii U
Technically, the last place for Pikmin 4 to be shown could be during a direct after E3 in 2020, seeing how Luigi’s Mansion was shown during a September direct and is being released this year.
People who give up on Pikmin 4 aren't true fans. People need to remember that the same team that worked on NSMB and Mario Maker are the same team responsible for Pikmin. Obviously if Pikmin 4 was being made already, Mario Maker 2 would've took priority. That's where Miyamoto's "priority list" comes into play.
F-Zero - Miyamoto said that if there was a gimmick to make F-Zero stand out aside from Online and HD, IE a gimmick, they would consider. Star Fox - Star Fox Zero. Miyamoto thought the "Pilot in the Gamepad/Tv is a Cinematic Drama" gimmick would work. Chibi-Robo - Should've bought Zip Lash, the 2nd party company deliberately asked for people to buy the game otherwise Chibs would be put down. Zip Lash didn't get enough sales. Golden Sun - Camelot asked fans to demand support for the series after Dark Dawn came out, Camelot has since chosen to develop Mario Sports games because that's what sells and the Golden Sun fans only cared about getting Issac in Smash as opposed to getting another Golden Sun game (which had there been a new Golden Sun game, Issac likely would've made it into Smash...) Do remember that the majority of these games are made due to either financial interest or to explore a new idea.
@@KahunaLagoona "F-Zero - Miyamoto said that if there was a gimmick to make F-Zero stand out aside from Online and HD, IE a gimmick, they would consider." Mario Kart: I will end this man's whole career
tbh I did say countless times that after this e3 if Pikmin 4 wasn't announced, then I'd officially consider it cancelled, but some part of me deep down still hopes for it. Pikmin has been the second franchise that I've ever played a game from, after Mario of course, and it holds a very special place in my heart, so deep down, I really hope Nintendo is just hiding Pikmin 4 away from us until the time is right.
Well mother/earthbound is straight up confirmed to be over, there will be no more games because they don't want to make anymore. Pikmin has been anything but confirmed. Honestly miyamoto is probably just being super picky with it since it is his favorite
Maybe if we all (and I mean all of us) raid the social media accounts/ emails of Shigeru Miyamoto, Shuntaro Furukawa, and Doug Bowser asking "where is Pikmin 4" (ピクミン4はどこですか) we might have a reaction
Between having no National Dex in Pokemon Sword/Shield, Animal Crossing: New Horizons being delayed for several more months, and no Pikmin new for years, I'm starting to lose hope...
@@KahunaLagoona Same goes for Metroid Prime 4, but what about Sword and Shield? The games either need to get delayed or add the missing Pokémon in future patches. Miyamoto himself said that a delayed game is eventually good but a rushed game is forever bad. That should apply to Sword and Shield too don't you think? They apparently need to get the game done because of schedule, but there is no rush! They need to take their time, especially since Game Freak is working with Town!
@@Aego384 But that's because it's GAME FREAK - not Nintendo. They've got an entire multimedia empire that goes along with the games: Anime, TCG, etc. Bear in mind - Game Freak announced Sword/Shield on Feb 27th, when there was a Nintendo Direct ripe for announcement on Feb 13th. So it's more GameFreak doing their own thing.
Your such a big pikmin fan you can’t give up already I haven’t even finished a pikmin game and I still have hope and while trying to wright pikmin it kept translating to pokemon grr
Clearly the 3DS release was their message to fans that the series is still alive. Look at other series: Paper Mario: Sticker Star is released then we get Color Splash on the Wii U Luigi’s Mansion: Dark moon is released and now we’re getting LM3 on the switch I think we should hold out for this because it is a beloved series by both creators and fans
Ok. So Pikmin to Pikmin 2: 3 years. Pikmin 2 to Pikmin 3: 9 years. If we keep going the way we are... Pikmin 3 to Pikmin 4 will be... 81 years away from Pikmin 3. Probably.
I think it's a combination of development issues and staff constantly being moved to other projects meaning that work is a bit on-and-off with internal changes pushing it back. It's just in a lowest-priority spot where if they had more devs it would be out by now but they just don't have the spare devs to do it consistently.
what i want for E3 2020 -Rhytym Heaven -2d Mario game (that is actually good) -A totally new nintendo game -Mario Kart 9 -Reggie and most important: -PIKMIN 4 oh and also I really want Plants VS Zombies 3 by some reason, yeah, I know i'm like, 10 years late for this request but let the man dream
my opinion on the matter is that it's most likely going to be announced in 2020 for a 2021 release in the summer and that it is starting to receive more focus now that most of its other big projects are close to finished. Also im aware there are still a few unfinished without a release date but its not a large list in comparison to what they had to focus they're resources on until since most of those projects will be completed relatively soon and most likely at least some of said workforce will be moved over to pikmin 4 or at least that's my take on it
Yeah I've almost given up hope ever playing a new pikmin game ... When they did their "one more game" during the direct my heart skipped a beat just hoping it was pikmin 4. I'll even take a pikmin trilogy remaster at this point as a farewell to my favorite gaming franchise that never got the love it deserved.
I know I should give up hope for this series, but as hard as I try, I simply can’t. These games have been filled with nostalgia and happy memories for me and I’ve loved every one of them (except Hey Pikmin but that wasn’t truly a pikmin game). I don’t think I’ll ever really be able to let these games go unless it’s officially announced that they’re just not happening. Otherwise, I know that no matter how much I try I’ll never be able to give up hope. Miyamoto’s silly little project has been one of the best parts of my life, so I just wish it could become more than that. I honestly just wish Miyamoto, or someone from the pikmin development team, could just go upfront and tell us exactly what going on with this presumably dead series. The thought of it often just keeps me up at night. Edit: spelling
My first pikmin was pikmin 3, which drove me to play the first one, which made me play the second one. I want to live in a world where I can play the fourth installment of as good and creative of a game as pikmin
It's funny; back when Miyamoto stated it was almost done, I went right to speculating and theorizing, under the impression it would come out soon. Here we are four years later. I'm really happy all these other series are getting new entries! I love Animal Crossing! I love Luigi's Mansion! But man, Pikmin's always been the best Nintendo series to me. I hope it gets the fourth entry it deserves on Switch.
My god.. it was 9 years from pikmin 2 to 3, stop freaking out. It hasnt even been 7 years, its barely even been 2 years since hey pikmin. It was probably put on hold, and was only talked about by myiamoto 4 years ago
Well, I don't think I can use my mind to make a fan plot for pikmin 4.. oh wait, I CAN!, I could design a concept for Pikmin 4 if it makes you guys feel any better!!
i think Miyomoto has more of a say at Nintendo than what we think, if he has it still as his passion project, we still have hope. our last bit of hope rests in his hands now.
I hope not... Honestly mabye nintendo just has pikmin on the backburner right now I dont know, but if the switch will last as long as we think then we must get pikmin... RIGHT?
I literally just liked the video, and turned on notifications, like I'm actually hoping Pikmin 4 is not cancelled. If somebody reads this, and if they ever get a chance to talk to a person who developed Piimin, please ask about Pikmin 4.
I think that a pikmin 3 port would be a great boost and possible reason to make pikmin 4, as the wii u was already not the best selling console for nintendo. porting pikmin to the switch might just give the series the boost pikmin needs and the motivation nintendo needs to make another main pikmin game
Being an EarthBound and Pikmin fan really sucks! Not even a peep of content for us since the early 2010's. I was like 10, now 16! All we can do is hope, I guess...
Let's face it. People are always going on about how Miyamoto is "wanted for crimes against Paper Mario, Star Fox, and stories/characters in games", but whenever he tries to push this "Pikmin Privilege", then all of a sudden, everyone gives him a pass on it. Pikmin games have always sold poorly and failed every time they came out, and the series was never big/popular to begin with. But somehow, Miyamoto's shitty delusions of grandeur prevail over these facts. While I actually do like the games (and see a port of 3 coming, if one leaker's track record is anything to go by), I really wish Nintendo wouldn't lie about crap like that.
