Is Pixel 7 Still Worth it After S23 and OnePlus 11? 

My boss shocked me last week when he showed me he got a Pixel 7 Pro. I believe this is his first Android phone, being a long time iPhone user. I had shown him my 7 Pro last year when I got it and he had told me before he was really tired of iOS and asked how I like mine but of course I am completely biased with Android so of course I said I love it and I had previously showed him my Pixel 6 and he liked the hardware a lot but had reservations about Android using it day to day. Time will tell if he ultimately keeps his 7 Pro since he got it on a second line, primary is still his iPhone but maybe he'll be a Pixel convert, I somehow doubt it though since his whole family and extended family are on iPhones.

I literally returned my 256GB model OnePlus 11 for the Pixel 7. I now understand how so many reviewers speak poorly of Oxygen OS. Never again. I absolutely adore the Pixel Android experience. It truly is the smartest smartphone to date.

Got my 7 Pro for $300 + from Best Buy. Such an amazing deal! My wife's 6a only cost around $150 going through Google's Fi. There truly have been some amazing deals especially for the 7 series. I look forward to the 7a and 8 series! Smartphone profit I thank you.

I have a limit that i refuse to pay more than £500 for a phone. I recently got pixel 7 for £499 including free pixel buds pro. So unless the other phones are now equalling or bettering that. They may have things that are better but they are simply not worth the money. I am more than happy with my pixel 7’s performances so far. I dont have excessive use and dont have it on 24/7 but last charge was friday night and I still have over 50% now. That is good compared to any previous phone I have owned. If it keeps this up i will be very happy. I have done things to help like turn battery saver on, reduced brightness and turned 90hz off. I dont see any noticeable difference not having 90hz, the screen is still very smooth compared to previous phone. An issue with lower brightness has been the supermarket tils struggle to see the barcode on the reward app. It wasnt an issue on old phone.

I was so hyped about the Pixel 7 but at the end I ended up buying a S23. The problem with Google in my region (but it's not just me) is that the phone is not selling/being supported officially, nor it has an official re-seller so, if you're lucky enough to even find it somewhere, the markups that you have to pay are just insane. Currently in Bulgaria S23 256GB and Pixel 7 256GB are selling for the same price... Having to pay the same amount of money for a Pixel 7 over a S23 is just not justified. So what I think Google needs to definitely do is to expand their market. If the pricing was even close to the numbers that you're quoting, I'd most likely be a happy Pixel owner, but unfortunately I'm not.

Still loving my Pixel 6...will wait quite a while before upgrading. They're just gonna get better and better. 😊

I've yet to use an Android phone, past or present (currently using a 7 Pro) that does not heat up when using GPS for more than 30 minutes, in a car, placed in a dash holder, mid-day, and it's only about 65 degrees out but Sunny. Forget about Summer conditions when car interior temps reach well past 100 degrees without the AC on, Southern California summers are brutal so I would completely welcome a chip that will do better with that. 70+ degree temps here run well past half the year so if the AC isn't blasting to cool down the phone, it becomes unusable.

Free VPN and a heck of a camera still make it a justifiable purchase for the money. Have to mention the call screening is one of my favorite features in this horrible time of BS spam callers.

They need to offer an 8pro but with the dimensions of a pixel 7

I have been using Google phones since my Pixel 2XL. I currently have the Pixel 7 Pro and it is hard to beat for the price. My only issue has been with Google's constant failures at giving timely monthly security patches and updates. I still have not received the camera update to V8.8 on my 7 Pro. My Pixel 6A did not get the March update until a week after my 7 Pro but it did get the camera update.....really Google?! I am going on a vacation soon and hope Google gets that update out soon as my Pixel 7 Pro is my go to for taking pictures. Seems to me that Samsung may be doing a better job in the update and patch downloads than Google. It was just too hard for me to justify an additional $600 for the S23 Ultra over what I paid for the 7 Pro, but that may change in the future if Google doesn't get their act together.

I definitely agree. P7P Hazel. Ooph *chef's kiss* so good looking. Hahaa! One of the only things I dislike is the slight curved screen. Don't get me wrong it's cool and all but it gets annoying when my OtterBox prevents me from selecting something while it's on the side due to the curve. Whether it's text or going back to the beginning of a video while in portrait. That's one thing I'm excited about the P8P if it actually doesn't have the curved screen. To be fair, the curved screen was a fad and now that people have experienced it. I at least won't be getting a new phone if it has any curved screen.

The major reason I won't get a Google phone until fixes it the lack of Fast charging its huge especially as the phone gets older. My S10 battery isn't the greatest but with a 20 minute fast charger secession I can gas it up for the rest of the day ( car or home) . As the phone ages the lack of fast charging is a daily use crippler GET WITH IT GOOGLE ADD FAST CHARGING or you'll never be a real competitor to Samsung

I got my Pixel 7 for taxes and all like 450 it was 399 before tax. I been with Samsung since the S2 and finally woke up to the over priced junk that Samsung is compared to the Pixel. My last Samsung was the Note 3 years ago I went from the Note to the Pixel 5 and never looked back

They need to fix splitscreen multitasking. You used to be able to have the top app pinned while you could switch around the bottom one. No idea why they made it worse but it was a deal breaker for me.

I upgraded from my Pixel 7 pro to the Samsung 23 ultra It took me 2 days to pop the sim back in my pixel. They just don't compare.

I must have a dud pixel 7 because my pixel 3 does better photos and vidio, on the pixel 7 the front camera photos and especially vidio are fuzzy unless in perfect light and the rear camera is no better than my 3 so I don't know what's happening

My biggest problem with Google phones is the lack of screen mirroring, unless you carry a Chromecast or have a TV with built in Chromecast it's useless, for that reason I'm leaving my pixel 6 pro and heading to try Samsung

T-Mobile add a line promo pixel 7 for 99.99 any plan so I got it along with the pixel 7 pro. May hand it down to my son once his grades bump up.

In my opinion, until such a time as they address the shortcomings of their hardware pixel phones will never be worth it. Furthermore, they need to move on to a Qualcomm processor and drop the customized tensor chipset. There are some good things going on with their phones but, those two things are a non-starter for me.

I love my Pixel 7 but somehow I miss the part where I'd be stuck with it for 36 months before I can upgrade lol. Thanx Verizon. 😒

Pixel seven‘s really good phone I would say the two weaknesses are the battery is OK you can make it through a day most times but it’s not got really good battery life and a wide angle camera on the back it’s not wide enough it’s kind of a yeah it’s wide, but it’s just not wide enough to be a wide angle camera that needs to be looked after thank you and I guess the processor could run cooler that would be nice also

There 4 things I would want in this phone that almost every other phone has. It needs an EQ, Dolby Atmos, and an ambient light sensor to adjust the screen to the temperature of the light in the room. The speakers need work too…more bass. Still a great phone for the price.

Lately there are tons of deals on pixel 7. Mint had 6 months service and pixel 7 for $350(sold out) and Amazon has sale for $450. I picked up open box pixel 7 from Amazon for $330. Came in and it was mint condition. Running dual sims and no issue. Pixel 6 and 6 pro had battery drain with dual sim.

I think the best thing the Google Pixel 7 has going for it right now is that's its by the far the cheapest unlocked phone you can get with no stipulations attached to it. There are no deals on the Oneplus 11 or S23 that don't come with a catch right now that I know of, which of course you talked about. I'd prefer something like the Oneplus 11 though, so I'm going to try to wait until a better deal comes with it. I'm in no hurry.

In Germany that pixel 7 (256GB) woud cost you around 700 Euros and there is a promo rn now with Samsung S23 (256 GB) for 880 and you get the Bud2 and a charger. Which would you pick?

I want to see a Z fold 360. Inspired by their 360 Laptop line. Since it already folds inside, they should be able to do something similar on the outside. It would be very innovative and very cool.

Have you experienced the same thing with my Pixel 7? The wide angle lens seems not taking clear pictures even if you tap to focus on the subject. I compared it with a Pixel 5 and it's a huge difference. The Pixel 5s wide angle is so clear.

Pixel 6a worst android phone choice I ever made. Heating machine, battery poop as hell, camera hype is only for photos, super grainy video recording during dusk. Very unhappy
