Hey when guy bets pot on river, and you have a baby flush on a pair board you NEVER raise. Guy ether has a bluff a slightly worse hand or has you beat and a raise doesn’t get called by worst hands it was a overplay
@@NorCal_Poker yeah I feel you, if he a calling station fish, and you put him on a straight that be a expletive play! But saying vs the general field usually ends up bad your yah. Believe me I learned hard way also. Good luck to yah!
False, poker is a game of math, not black and white thinking. If you have the correct odds and give your opponent correct odds, you should shove for value. I love this exploitative river raise for value. Bluff catching with a flush is idiotic.
Love this content. At present, you seem to be making authentic content that shows you playinh poker as well as you can without playing with others' money and you do not seem to do click-baity rubbish like most poker vloggers now do. I'm a self-employed English teacher!
Farming is an honorable profession …. Good luck 🍀 on this year’s production. The great Mitch Hedberg once said “Rice is great if you’re really hungry and want to eat two thousand of something “ ….
I love your videos!! Thx for being honest and showing the good and the bad in playing poker!! And good thing you have a full time job!! We’ll all be broke playing poker full time! Thx for showing what you do and keep on vlogging!! Will be watching!!
I am a retired taxidermist. I loved my job, but the chemicals were killing me. and at the age of 62-no one will hire me. it.s ok I make money, but because of YOU, I am doing better!
farming is such a manly job! keep up the good work! i got your back- i love haters on-line! they make me purge on them when acting stupid. and i like to purge-just like when your giving out your bullshit on the felt! LMAO!
I'm retired, after working in the restaurant industry for 45 years, 20 of those years I was self employed. I've always enjoyed playing Texas hold'em and enjoyed your vlog very much!
I love me some rice! After being a district manager for a dunkin' franchise for a decade, I now sell home and auto insurance here in Massachusetts. Tough month of April fir you, but i have a feeling you will turn it around in May!
Never would have guessed that lol!...Im in the mortgage industry. Keep plugging. Everything is always easier in hindsight, referring to the flush jam. River leads are so under bluffed after the line villain took. You ever play on Mondays? I always used to play on the weekends which are crazy action, but will just happen to be in Sac in a ~week. Think I'm gonna hit the morning game.
@@NorCal_Poker Good sh*t! Maybe when I'm in town, I'll catch ya at some point. Figured since I'll be coming back from a flight super early, I'll just stop in for a bit.
Nice. Im a megatronics electrician in Finland. We have a living room scale spot to farm. Just was shoveling to flip the soil today and starting the season. You have a huge farm. Love your content. Keep it coming.
Ok, was gonna say computer programmer…didn’t see farmer coming. Not gonna lie, that’s impressive and I imagine a crap ton of work. Since you asked, I run a RU-vid channel (this one
Just stumbled across you channel a little bit ago. I like your style of video and would have never guessed rice farmer lol. I work on wells & septic systems
Is that over off Riego Road/Baseline?? A girl and I were gonna sleep in her car one night and pulled off the road near that gas station. It was hella dark when we pulled off to park the car and upon waking up in the morning we discovered there was water going up to the door of her SUV. We had to wait for someone to come pull us out. Crazy times lol
@@NorCal_Poker Definitely a crazy time lol. Once I get a new job I'll come play some Holdem at Capital Casino. I played a tournament against one of the floor bosses from capital casino about a month ago.
I work in legal cannabis, which right now isnt doing great and got me thinking more about poker full time.... especially since lately ive been making more at poker.
I like that you show your actual profit and not just adding the pot to your stack. I'm in South Sac and grinding online to build a bankroll. I play live from time to time but it's difficult having 0.5-1.5 buy ins per session. Typically play at Stones. Play well, my guy.
@@SMOKEtillUReyezBLEED I use Club GG (link in my bio & latest RU-vid video description). Variance is high since the games are so soft so if you decide to hop on make sure you have 20-30 buy ins at whatever stake you choose. They offer as low as 20 NL
Interesting. Poker players are an interesting breed. You can almost never nail down what somebody does. I’m a district manager for a large automotive chain.
In the AK hand where the flop came out K62 is it also possible he had a lessor King such as KQ or KJ? Either way considering the flush draw think your line was pretty much optimal.
Your knowledge of regular specific players ranges definitely gives you opportunities to make some high level plays. Against an unknown player I’d have those hands in the range
Respect. I worked on a melon farm in the south central desert wastelands of Utah. Greetings from El Dorado County. I play tourneys at Capital. Maybe see you there sometime.
Could have given me 10 guesses and wouldn’t have guessed rice farmer. I own a rage room, axe throwing, and paint splatter business. Just recently getting to a point I can let my employees run it and allow me more time for poker
I pegged you to be a work at home computer guy. Off topic, but im curious if you get pheasants on your ranch or have pesticides wiped them out completly?
@@NorCal_Poker That's a great thing to do! Too bad more farmers in the valley don't think that way. I live in the central valley and hunting was a big part of my life up until i joined the USMC. Im actually a retired union glazier that grew up in clovis.Thank you and your family for helping the local wildlife! I have great memories of hunting and raising game cocks with my late father.
Always always always bet your flopped straights in multiway pots. I learned this a few years ago and it's allowed me to rake in bigger profits. Very rarely will all players fold. 95% of the time you will get at least one player to call.
ok bro let me ask you this- if he had bet say twenty five bucks would you still have raised him? the reason i ask this is one of the best tells a non pro will make is how they bet when they hit it and when they miss. one of the things remind myself of in a poker hand is what is the best hand? what is the likely hood my opponent has this hand if i dont? by doing this, u will put up the stop sign when u see this action in the future, ask yourself questions, and quite possibly save yourself some money! from my perspective, if it were me, i would say to myself if he had a straight or a set i would have heard about before now most likely so we rule those hands out. two pair hands have show down value somewhat and will never lead here on the river so those hands are out. so what is left? a flush. and since he is betting big, he is saying i have either the nut flush or something pretty close! if you thought about it deeper, u could probably come up with him having at least the four or six of clubs in his hand. so of course u cant fold your hand so a call was the best play. hey u r learning that is all you can do. if u had nothing to learn from how can u possibly get better? anyway, good luck and maybe i will see u at thunder. i will be wearing a spy hat.
Appreciate the feedback as always! I thought since I checked turn back he can have 3x & straights which he would call a river jam but I see your point!
My guess was a stay at home dad. You definitely would have the patience for it ❤. I'm a software engineer. As always, love your videos and your content. That K3 of diamonds 3bet was spicy! I think you're giving too good of a price for draws to continue. You want them to call with the math in your favor, not in their favor if that makes sense.
I'm a Poker Dealer/Poker Player. I believe I was your opponent that originally opened in this hand with 76 of clubs. I enjoy your content and hope to see you out there again.
@@KarrthusMTGappreciate that! You’re a solid player & was the only one I was definitely worried about that day! Was hoping for a fold preflop to be honest 🤣 Got a lucky flop
You duck hunt in them fields ? When I used to run sheep through east Nicholas used to see a lot of hunting bin the rice fields. Part time farmer. Part time computer worker. Get after it brother. Good shit
I'm from SE Arkansas and live roughly 35 minutes from Stuttgart, Arkansas. Which is known as the rice capital of the world. It is also the mosquito capital of the world.
Idk why you shoved that flush on the river. You’re rarely getting called by worse than a flush. It feels great to make a middle flush, but at low stakes, where people love to chase draws at an extreme level, this is a losing play overall.
@@elismith7568 Just an online English writing class to fulfill my pre req before transferring to LB. & awesome, I head out there sometimes, feel free to stop me if you see me
makes terrible jam with a low flush on a paired board after villain leads river and gets called by a higher flush and blames it on variance. Poker is in a good place.
Your voice sounds like you're trying too hard not to sound like a monotone. Just use your real natural voice. Also I love your river shove with backdoor. You just ran into it. Any pro live player knows that a ton of your profit comes from value in those spots. I'm a poker pro but i also do church organist gigs on a part time basis to help stabilize things
It’s all a work in progress my man (camera, poker, all of it). Appreciate the support throughout & love that idea of stabilizing things! Best of luck 🙌🏻
Mr. NorCal I am extremely eager to play poker for a living.. I always wanted to a professional poker player.. But I don't think I have the courage to do it full time 😕 Your fan.. River Rat 🐀
I'll go for academic at a uni , or someone in a company. I am British living in Poland and I can't afford $1000 a month on poker never mind per session potentially.
Rice farmer? Now I know who to call when I drop my phone in water. 😂 I’m an accountant. Variance gonna come in and get you from time to time. The losses could have been a mitigated a bit. But some other have already said how. Keep it up dude.
7:38 You can make all the right plays on paper.. yada yada, but comon this wasnt the right play. You way overplayed your hand with the small flush here. This is just a flush/full house from opponent so often there isnt much value in raising. And even if they do have a straight or trip 3s, how often are they really calling an all in here anyway?
You didn't make the right play shoving into a $100 lead river bet. Coulda just called, which is the right play. Only worse is folding, only better calling.
Look at buying puts and selling calls around what you believe the final sale price will be. if you grow the commodity you would insure a minimum price for the commodity and by selling a call you reduce or eliminate the puts cost. thereby locking in your price. sometimes you could even have a situation where the strangle would pay you a premium.
