I watched my Godly mother, a woman who taught me such a strong faith, go from preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to preaching the gospel of Qanon and MAGA. It grieved my heart so, so deeply. I still weep 8 years later, it feels like my respected elders have left the faith of my youth. They've forgotten my beautiful Jesus.
I woke up this morning thinking about all the people bruised, injured, feeling afraid and unheard and hopeless in their own neighbourhoods, driven to the streets just howling into the wind for a hearing. And began to get angry. Then realised the enemy of my soul wants to turn that anger to destruction or sense of helplessness ( this is what usually happens when i spend time in politics/ news) But realised in a new way Jesus really cares about the pain of those people much more than me! He is caring right now. He gets angry but does not sin! So began to pray in spirit, laying hand of peace on the heads of these people in the spirit. Spoke Jesus's radical peace on those trapped minds (not a weak thing!). This is the way! Not horses or chariots, having some CONFIDENCE in the transforming power of Jesus. To move from news sites into praying in the spirit as soon as I feel emotion stirred. This is what I need to do. Not ignoring or escaping, but allowing my anger to point to Jesus's own sinless anger, and to pray in the spirit out of his compassion, with his authority. HIS kingdom come; HIS will be done!
I am interested in the comments Emma Stark made on the atmospherics of "having a political spirit" - which is really a commentary on 'power relations' and a human lust for power in that Power in itself does not corrupt but it attracts the corruptible and that is what the agencies and forces in Ephesians 6:12 play on in dealing with human agency. ✝️🔥
This realy helped, My friend and myself have since covid been convicted by eachother to know what is happening but to be distant enough from it to not be dragged into the fear despair and anger that it can store up passing this onto other people great work.
This is perfect timing - your book arrived today Emma😃 I've finished the first chapter and can tell it will be a page turner🥳...For me, having a conversation about politics with anyone other than my husband usually results in unpleasantness! Even in the church there is a 'walking on eggshells' approach as you are never quite sure where anyone stands....We pretty much would call ourselves apolitical though do bother to vote but can't ever get fully behind any of the parties here in the UK....We do however declare that we live under a different government, as citizens of Heaven. God bless you all for making this new and very timely series👑🦁🧡
Great new conversation. Yes the change happens within us. Iron sharpens iron yes I’m engaging with this. Politics - it is not our saviour and salvation is through Jesus amen. Our attitude our posture is teachable, prayerful, being willing to be provoked into research, study to chew upon some issues.. We want our lives to evidence that God walks closely with us on the individual level. Our engagement and understanding of it and where does it sit in your heart. Political spirits - don’t get agitated by a religious or political spirit - self reflection. Seek first the Kingdom. The priority message - Jesus saves. The kingdom of God the top is the Trinity - the values, structures and belief and thinking. God structure is about freedom from the law of sin and death. A kingdom spirit to. Bring salvation. The worlds system and structure is liberty but it’s sourced and defined by yourself and creates empire concept. The worlds empire is outside in: Conformity. The kingdom of God begins in the heart and works out to the external: Transformative. They have Different start points. Bring balance and alignment. Only the work of God has saving power. Don’t be disempowered through politics but be empowered daily by the transformative power that comes from God. Our trust must be placed in Jesus. Looking forward to the next conversation. Unless the Lord builds the house. Understanding Christian principles. That’s why we can be soo cheerful in our giving. How the kingdom operates. Operating, functioning and flowing in kingdom believing and living. Our place of rest our fight of faith is to remain, steadfast in that place of dependency and trust and rest in God for He is Faithful.
Have you seen the heart newspaper, it’s a Christian one, it seems very political , and I wonder if it’s correct? Of course there’s good in there but, did Jesus really get us to dishonour authorities, or honour and pray for our authorities?
Satan no longer has a kingdom! Jesus took all authority away from him and taught about the Kingdom of God. He didn’t focus on the darkness or the enemy, only on the Kingdom of God coming to earth. 🔥🔥🔥
The challenge of recording a series like this is just how much has changed by the time it is released. We currently watch in amazement that one young man's choice to pick up a knife and use it to destroy lives has ignited a powder keg. At the time of recording, we didn't expect this but we didn't even know who would be leading the government's response to it.
I think as i listened to your discussion Holy Spirit showed me that the more ‘antichrist’ our rulers become towards the end of this age the more His church will be given the ‘batten’, He reminded me we the church his active praying sincere children will become more mature capable and empowered by Him to take more responsibility for others to hear His word see His love mercy grace and face as the rulers and structures of this age become more wicked. Gods handing more responsibility to His church and off of any world leaders or structures. Gods church (us) will be given more responsibility & empowering grace to share Gods savings power to others as the govts become more antichrist, remember even at the penultimate time of The Antichrist rule many will be saved for God is so much greater than he that is in the world.
Is a difference between the right to lack of oppression, housing, good healthcare and the right to sin? Of course and the answer to this question depends on your level of privilege.
@@propheticscots Okay, I really believe that as a Christian we have no rights but what many people call 'human rights" are 'food, healthcare, education, a fair trial before one goes to prison, freedom of speech. These, I think Jesus deeply cares about even though these 'rights' may not be present in many nations. Then there are 'freedoms', the freedom to be immoral. Aren't these two different sets of rights? I think that if you are privileged you tend to think of the later rather than the former things as rights. I think that good government can effect those at the bottom of society quite a lot.
This certainly is a conversation we need to have but I think this panel lacks someone ie someone who everyday is working amongst the current cultural ideologies eg people working for government in sense their salary comes from state- teachers, social workers, doctors, nurses, politicians etc. All this panel is made up of people whose workplace is the church!!
Fair point, although the thrust of these four conversations are about the church, its leaders and prophets. But yes, there are definitely great conversations to be had about how to effectively govern from a Biblical perspective, as well championing a higher standard of justice in civil life. PS Most of the panel have worked in these sectors at some point and certainly all continue to work with those who are in senior (and junior) positions in most spheres of culture.
Appreciate the comment but while members of the panel may have worked in some of these areas before, the change in the workplace in the last few years has been so challenging in certain areas for many Christians that they need a more up to date voice to be physically on the panel - how about a Christian working in the political arena !!
Would also add that that people on the frontline of these issues are also part of the church and many equally are elders and carry a prophetic voice into the arenas of cultural production.
