A minor correction: I misspoke near the start where I said PRINCE2 was required to get into the profession. It wasn’t mandatory, but it was listed as desirable or essential in nearly all PM job roles. Sorry for any confusion. I also mentioned my video where I shared my project manager salaries, you can find that here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fYKGyAw6GCw.htmlsi=Up9AKEQotc7wpBjc

Great video, love the channel! It's exactly what I needed as I am currently studying for my P3Governance certification and planning to pursue the P3O qualification soon. You're right about how these certifications can enhance your CV and job applications, especially since many jobs require them. While understanding best practice methodologies is important, putting them into practice can be challenging, especially considering P3M maturity. That's where real-world experience becomes invaluable. Adapting the knowledge gained from courses like PRINCE2 to your specific environment is crucial.

Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed the video. From my experience PRINCE2 and P3O helped my career; MSP and MoR not so much as nobody was looking for them. I found the book for MoP useful, but didn’t get the certification as the knowledge was all I needed.

feel like banging my head against a brick wall after getting P2 P. still nobody looks at me, nobody gives me a shot, nobody sees potential to take you under their wing and mentor you while you contribute

The job market is very very poor at the moment, it’s a tough period. If you haven’t already done so, take a look at public sector organisations for opportunities. They can be great places for getting started. Best wishes and good luck

I have to say, I found P2 Agile interesting, but I didn’t find it really helpful. Certainly not in the same way the APM PMQ Qualification - that was actually really helpful!

Great video! Thinking of buying the book and doing it myself! Are the questions very paragraph based or are we talking single/ multiple choice questions?

Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video. It was all multiple choice when I did it, I think it is now - but see if you can get some current mock exams to verify that.

Thank you for the video it brings alot of motivation. Does the PRINCE2 worth it also for Europe in general?

Thank you. I’m not sure - I recommend checking in local job listings and maybe ask recruiters. My gut feel is it would not be as sought after there, but it’s worth checking.

After ten years in an emergency services role I'm looking at a career change to project management so your videos are really insightful! Just out of interest, what did you do prior to a PM role? As well as the Prince2 qualification, I'm guessing there's other transferable skills required?

There was a time when I was a cocktail barman… this video explains how I got into project management: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i2ltq_YSCXI.htmlsi=4R6IofK2j96eA1Rs

Great insights. What website did you show for the pricing at 4 minute mark? The prices are decent.

Hi, it was Peoplecert. I've not used them myself so I can't speak for the experience you'd have with them. Good luck for your studies.

Peoplecert are the current accrediting body, they acquired Axelos in 2021. Good video 👍

Which book do you recommend?
@InfluentialPMO
@InfluentialPMO 17 дней назад
Currently (2024) the official book is PRINCE2® 7 Managing Successful Projects - but check that against the exam you're taking based on the year and the version of PRINCE2. The practitioner exam will tell you which book you're allowed to have in the exam.

I am actually very new to this idea and haven’t checked any courses or exams. I thought first to read the book, to see if this is indeed something that I want and then move forward if necessary. I am taking your advice :)
