Here is a what if: when he got free from the cave, and he had that meeting.. he did stop company from making weapon, (or the company never made weapons). And he decide to make the Iron Man suit but this time No one knew he was Iron Man, not even SHIELD, and he kept it all a secret, and he told the world that the Iron Man was his body guard and had been kept secret, he could say the BG had a tracker on him and came to save him. But it took a while due to the metal in the caves, or something. This is just my opinion. But to be honest i lost interest in Avengers at the Civil War movie... (now if they went back and said that this was a different Universe then ok)
