I got to smell the Chanel patchouli material straight up via a friend who works at a dept store and went to a training session. It smelled so divine I wish I could just wear their patchouli material neat.
Bois 1920 used to be at Holts but nobody really looked at them. If you're looking into Patchoulis.... I've tested many and in the end I have Coromandel for it's Chanel smoothness/polish/subtlety, Javoy Psychedelique for it's earthy rawness, Chantecaille Kalimantan for it's creamy vanilla drydown, and Lutens Borneo 1834 for the Cacao... those are the ones I settled on. Eugen - next time you're walking through Holts, swing past Chantecaille (makeup line) and smell Kalimantan (wait for the drydown!) and their Oud and Vetyver scents too. Overlooked and underrated IMO.
Eugene can you try & get a sample of montale vetiver patchouli & review. I’m not a fan of montale, i hate the cheap packaging & the loud synthetic feel of a lot of their fragrances but this fragrance is something special 👌
Once you get involved with Coromandel, no need to look elsewhere! That’s my opinion and I don’t need to change. Synthetic Jungle…beautifully bitter …but there’s some lovely sweetness there. Like your shirt
