I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one who just found Ren. Limiting myself to five of his songs and already so impressed with his range, talent and THE LAYERS! 🤯 There is soooo much depth. I'm actually debating with myself, (no pun intended), over starting a reaction channel just because he's revived my faith in the future of real music.

So I found your video because I am a diehard RENegade. I subscribed because you’re commentary was amazing. You did ask for suggestions. My suggestion would be to make the box that you’re reacting in a little bigger. I’ve watched his video hundreds of times and I know what it is. I would like to see more of your reaction. Since it’s on my phone, the little square made it difficult. I had to zoom in to see how you were reacting to the video. Us RENegades are very loyal and we get very excited when someone finds his music. I can’t wait to watch you fall down his rabbit hole. He practically does every genre and he is known for his one takes. I did watch him in an interview talk about this particular video. He did not have permission to be there and a guy came to kick them out. So the sound is a one take but the video they filmed it, I think, five times before getting kicked out. So the video is him taking the best parts out of the five videos. I look forward to future reactions.

This is indeed an uncut live recording. Ren and his crew only had time for four takes. Ren chose the best one for the audio track and for most of the video. Some shots like the handheld camera in the angel/hope part were taken from other takes.

You're actually not that far off on the idea of death. At one point Ren was mostly bedridden and thought his music journey was over. He was misdiagnosed for years. When he finally got the right diagnosis and started to get treated for what actually was wrong, he sort of had a rebirth.

He is also part of a band called "The Big Push". They are no longer together because of Ren's health history and his seeking treatment. It was not a break-up and there are many who hope they will get back together. Ren's and The Big Push's musical catalog is extensive. What's crazy is that was all done in one take. He was really playing and really singing to the entire thing it was not dubbed in later and recorded in the studio or anything like that. The man's got some mad skills. It's almost not even music or not even a music video it's like a whole production it's all of it together, it's just amazing. What's the first time I've been able to understand when someone says that something is art. This without a doubt Is a artist and that is an amazing piece of art.. I just saw your Hi Ren reaction, and put this journal entry of Ren's as my comment to that reaction. jAN 01, 2023 rEN~ Up until I was 9 years old, I would intermittently hear a voice in my head that was not my own. The voice was distinctly different to mine, and always negative. It would self criticize or urge me to do things I knew to be morally wrong. The most peculiar thing about the voice was that it took no effort on my behalf to produce. My own thoughts always felt like there was a process that required effort to bring them to the forefront of my mind, this voice appeared as though it was spoken by another. The sentences felt predetermined like they had already been constructed. I remember very vividly at 9 years old, becoming very frustrated with the voice. I stood in my back yard, internally screaming at the voice to be silent again and again, and it did. In a flash there was silence, to the point where my head felt like an empty room. I wasn't used to the quiet and that voice never returned. It almost felt lonely in my head. When I got older I had intermittent bouts with auditory hallucinations where I would hear perfect symphonies, usually at night when drifting off to sleep. They were so clear that they sounded like they were emanating from a radio in the corner of my room. I knew they weren't there, but for some reason they never came with the feeling of fear. I also recall sitting on a bus at the age of 15, and hearing the sound of a crowded room, with about 100 voices chattering away, I was the only person apart from the driver on the bus. These experiences were always very brief, and few and far between. My last hallucination was during an intense bout of psychosis in 2015, and was my first visual hallucination. I was walking down a pavement after jumping out my mums car in a crossroads in a moment of frustration and distress with my condition. I was trying to run from myself. What appeared to be a homeless man with a dark complexion approached me, and asked me what was wrong. I explained that I had been sick most my life, and I wasn't sure I had the strength to continue. He looked at me, and smiled and told me 'everything is going to be okay in the end Ren.' I had not told him my name. There was something so overpoweringly sincere about this very simple message, which brought with it an overwhelming feeling of inner peace, and in a flash, he vanished. My rational brain always linked these experiences to what the doctors have told me, that there are parts of my brain compromised by the autoimmunity in my body. That the myelin sheaths surrounding the complex electrical system that conduct my thoughts were damaged and compromised, causing these lucid experiences that I knew did not exist inside the physical world. The part of me that edges away from logical and rational thought always attributed these thoughts to some kind of otherworldly intervention, that made my thoughts the battleground of some spiritual tug of war. For a long time I never really acknowledged this part of myself, for with it brought the danger and stigma of sounding like a crazy person. I decided with my latest release, to the best of my ability, to capture and express this chess match of thought. Hi Ren comes out in just over 24 hours. I can't wait for you all to hear it.

I recently subbed to Ren, and then all this hooey blew up with Kujo, so I’ve been down an obsessive rabbit hole of discovery. I don’t even have words for how he can move me with his art. His vulnerability draws people in so much, and you showing your vulnerability during this reaction did a similar thing. I think I might just tag along for your voyage of discovery. After watching Ren’s production skills I wasn’t sure how his songs would translate as just audio, but I’ve been listening to the Sick Boi album and I’m hooked, there’s not one track I don’t want to listen to over and over
