Is Roger Waters ruining The Dark Side of the Moon? 

Let's repaint the Mona Lisa, build another straight tower in Pisa, and rewrite the works of Shakespeare. No thanks. Listen to this if you want, but I don't want the precious memories of the original complete album to be soiled by interfering with one note of it. It may be good, but frankly I find it an affront to history. Still, that's Roger Waters all over, a difficult and discontented individual who wants to be relevant.

The original version will always be there to listen to, he’s not ruining the album. If you don’t like his new version that’s fine, enjoy the original album and more power to you. Personally, I found the new version of money to be underwhelming but the rest of the tracks that have been released have been really great.

It's like somebody trying to paint another copy of the Mona Lisa!! Let's carve another statue of David??? Or let's do a rap version of Mozart's Requiem?? I wish Rodger would have never touched this album again!! It's as if he's trying to take away any contributions made by the other band members?!? Stop it Rodger, you can't improve on perfection!!!!

I went to a Goodwill and found a framed Darkside of the Moon wall hanger. I wish they would just put their differences aside and get back together.

First of all I wish to compliment Roger Waters on his recordings that he has released tracks from his forthcoming coming Album at first when money was aired I wasn't impressed of how Roger had re-record that track but I have listened to it several times and it has grown on me then he released Time and that was awesome and now released Speak to me / Breathe and I've played them altogether and I like it very much I know a lot of people will critisise Roger for the way he has redone such an iconic Album I can't wait for its release on 6th October I have been a pink floyd since the early 70's as Roger Waters has stated it is his how he feels it should be like now I like what all 4 guys have Solo and together Rogers Lockdown Sessions were superb hope David Gilmour/Nick Mason for all three have immense talent as a group or solo

Nope, in Syd's place came David Gilmore, you got it backwards.

After listening to various previews of this album many times and now the full album a number of times it doesn’t work for me at all. I consider this album so different as to be a different concept and construct altogether. Congratulations to Roger on making it but I will be sticking with my at least once a week listen to the real Dark Side.

What is he NOT ruining?

As with movies and TV shows when you try to issue a "remake" of the original it usually is not as good. Waters is brilliant but he is a hypocrite by doing all the things he condemns,

Roger is compromised.

He’s not ruining anything especially dark side I mean no one can ruin a masterpiece of music like that he’s just doing is own version of the album 💿 from his point of view ok 👍

he lost the court with PF, why you disinform people? in exchange to stop annoying PF he was given rights to use the wall in any kind and money compensation. The rest won and kept the band and continued creating PF albums with all due rights for the entire PF catalogue. RW lost his rights to define anything in PF being legally officially out of band. Royalties - yes, recognition yes, compliments - yes, suggestions - yes, orders - no. That's what pisses him off for almost 40 years. He had descent solo albums in the past but this redux is a typical unnecessary Roger's spit in David's face. Musical value is questionable but creates a huge rant among PF fans.

Nothing will hurt the masterpiece. This is just a bad album, forgotten very soon

The original version still exists so I wouldn't worry. He's not trying to replace the original, he's just revisiting the material in a new way. I like what he's done with it.

What an absurd idea. How can it ruin anything? It's a record, and if you don't like the redux, don't buy it. Everyone is so triggered these days. Everything's a drama. Gilmour fans like nothing more than to troll Waters, like spoiled kids. It's simply not a big deal if a record releases that people don't like. Unless it has Waters name attached, then it's a war. Pathetic.

Roger Waters has proved beyond any reasonable doubt, that he is still relevant! The same can hardly be said about David Gilmour, who sure does know how to play a mournful guitarsolo, but that's about it ...

I think Waters is saving Pink Floyds legacy if you listen to the last single that Polly Samson, with Gilmour and Masons backup, released under the Pink Floyd name. The message is completely opposite to the message that Waters was conveying via Pink Floyd. No wonder Waters felt that the original message had been lost and needed re-imagining. I think Waters is a better lyrist than Samson. Maybe thats why she is so angry.
