I don't need proof because I used Royal Purple for 15 years and 200,000 miles on an engine that still runs till this day. On the day we opened the engine, it was super clean. There was zero gunk anywhere in that engine. This engine was driven hard for its 200,000 miles and nothing failed. So, i am a living witness to everything in this video. After my years of using Royal Purple, I concluded that Royal Purple is too good for everyday use. It is probably meant for track use. It is a really a strong oil. I have another high performance car and everywhere I go for an oil change, they all refuse to use Royal Purple. They all want to use Mobil 1. This has been a frustration for me. The auto industry protects their value chain as best as they can. RP makes engines quiet too.

I do watch your video dude and others but I am that person, I believe things When I experience myself. Let me tell you guys, in my Hyundai Elantra Sport turbo I have used Mobil 1 , moto master by Shell, Penzoil, Castrol and Castrol was good so far and recently Royal purple ( all full Synthetic) . Omg! I can't believe, it's like I was feeding my car wrong food all those time. After putting Royal purple my ticking noise gone, My car is so smooth and quite it's like brand new engine and picks up so quick. I can't believe myself. It's unbelievably Smooth. It's like I bought brand new car. Now I do believe Royal purple much better oil no doubt. Maybe people can argue all synthetic oil same but my personal experience Royal Purple did much better no doubt. Yes it is expensive. I bought it on sale but it put smile on my face while I was driving My ES turbo. Also don't forget guys good quality filter does matter also. Always use ( Wix, Castrol , Bosch filter)

Very impressive! That's the most cleaning I've seen from any oil or additive in 5K miles. I'm surprised a racing oil cleaned so well. Generally racing oils are pretty low in detergents since the oil is expected to be changed frequently anyways in a racing application and a lot of detergents can negate the effectiveness of anti wear additives.

I have been using royal purple for a while in my truck and have always loved it. I have a Polaris rs1 that I just absolutely beat the piss out of. It’s at wide open throttle more than anything. And I got a magnetic drain plug for it and every oil change with the Polaris oil there was I guess a normal amount of metal shavings on it. Well they finally put the weight on the bottles so I bought some XPR royal purple of the same weight and every oil change I have done since then all the metal shaving are gone. There is absolutely nothing on the magnet anymore.

It's doing its job then, it's cleaning. It'll probably be like that for the next two to three oil changes at least. After that it will probably tapper down unless your engine had a considerable amount of sludge.

Royal Purple is a really good engine oil. You did a follow up video with someone talking about what the detergent in the oil does as far as cleaning, and he was 100% right on what it does. It gets all of the sludge out and cleans the engine. If you have old degraded gaskets that were being sealed by the sludge, those gaskets will leak and need to be replaced. After watching your initial videos, I ran Royal Purple in my F150 due to it overheating from clogged oil passages. Unfortunately, the passages were too clogged for the oil to clear them. I ended up replacing the heads on the engine and one looked just like your video. The one with the clogged ports... not so much. After replacing the heads, the engine developed a leak in the oil pan gasket from the lack of sludge. It needed to be fixed anyways... Great video and a great product.

I have respect for royal purple, high detergent oil you can find easy at walmart, orileys and some Autozones but 1. Amsoil signature has some of the most highest quality synthetic out on the market and with that is high on detergents and the best film protection out there 2. For the Castrol Edge they are know for mainly having high temperature protection, i used that equinoxs and traverses (motors that are known to burn)

I have always used RP as for synthetics go its about normally priced. I went for XPR this time and maybe I'm imagining it but my truck definitely felt slightly faster. This could however be because RP is known to thicken up over time and heat cycles.

Just a guess, but maybe because it's dislodging gunk and getting it stuck in all the little passages and components for VTEC? I've heard that if your engine is very dirty you should stay away for RP for that reason; it might move sludge and gunk to another place you don't want it. Thats all anecdotal though.

It is possible that a really really fouled up engine can have blocked pick ups if the engine is that bad it should be flushed first and possibly disassembled before changing to a detergent based oil. Its not really fair to blame an oil for doing its job and dislodging years of abuse.

20w60 or 10w60 in m5 e60. RP doesnt make it. Amsoil dominator makes 20w50 and its very good oil.

Umm yeah.... I'm definitely not disputing that Royal Purple is a fantastic oil....but you can't show a before and after picture at absolutely different angles 😆 The before shots are up close, in depth and in the middle of the engine to show all the sludge....the after shot was way off to the right, away from the engine and off at an angle and doesn't even show the internals.... You said you weren't paid or sponsored by Royal Purple but this particular video definitely makes it seem like that may actually be the case..... Not to mention by the fact that you have all the "other" Royal Purple products on a shelf, front facing the camera behind you lol
@TenzaMotorsports
@TenzaMotorsports 5 месяцев назад
The before footage of the engine is on an engine stand, and the after footage is when it’s in the engine bay, expect the exact same angles is an unreasonable request. You’ll never get the exact same angles handholding a camera. The before, and after are plenty enough proof as is. Especially on the valve cover. All royal purple products, you see in the video, including the stuff on the shelf was individually obtained. I have not received a single penny from purple. Thanks for watching!
@keithalvarez1294
@keithalvarez1294 5 месяцев назад
@@TenzaMotorsports - No I get that and I can understand the Royal Purple shelf situation. But I'm not expecting an exact same angle with the before and after but we at least expect to see inside the engine like you did in the "before" shots. Showing the same right angle makes it seem like you're hiding any visible sludge or varnish. Every "after" shot is the same right angle that avoids looking down in the engine. Either way, I loved your other videos. This is the only one that seemed sketchy and made it look like you were promoting how amazing it cleaned the engine without actually showing down in the engine. Have a blessed evening sir and keep making your informative videos!

Who all wants to know why someone racings a engine with that much carbon. Why he didn't just rebuild????? You wouldn't need a cleaner oil if your motor is new.
@TenzaMotorsports
@TenzaMotorsports Год назад
I did rebuild the engine. I left the head dirty (on purpose) because people kept calling me a liar for claiming Royal purple had cleaned the engine out with no other help. If I cleaned the motor out, no one would have been able to see the updates. There wouldn’t be videos to show. Does that make sense? I did this for people to watch. Not for myself. If it were up to me I would have cleaned it before re-installing it. You might want to watch the other videos I’ve done on this topic if you haven’t already. @@TenzaMotorsports I did watch your other video and I just caught you in a double lie I watched your very first episode in which you said you had a bolt from the next to the transmission towards the block which destroyed the engine so you were left with buying an eBay engine for your race car you dropped it in in which you noticed this eBay engine was full of carbon you heard about purple Royal from your friend at O'Reilly Auto Parts and you ran it inside the motor and noticed it started cleaning your motor internals so you cannot say what you're saying if you said on the first episode specifically that you've ran purple Royal only because your friend told you about it cleaning the motor I recommend you go back and watch episode 1 and hear what you're saying and then come back and read what your comment

The sheer volume of plastic components everywhere on this engine, is an engineering design trend I find very disturbing. As if it weren't bad enough the 2017 Lexus LS I just bought has a plastic intake manifold - at least the valve covers and most everything else is good old metallurgy! Plastic components are practically never better than their metal equivalents in my view, they are obviously a cost saving measure and nothing more (regardless of what the manufacturer says in public). And if there's one place plastic does not belong on a car it's under the hood and worst of all, on and in the engine! And these plastic parts will be the first to crack and fail on an engine. The automakers know this, and make the plastic parts anyway. Know anybody that owns a Mini Cooper? Not for long you don't, because those cars have an engine made by BMW that has more designed in defects than the Titanic... would you believe plastic timing gears? The moral of the story is once you buy one of these cars, especially a used one, prepare yourself for the inevitable, once all the plastic inside reaches the end of its design life -

@@TenzaMotorsports Whatever, Royal Purple is pure marketing, hype oil. No one I know in racing circles use it, like no one ! Your engines are filthy and suggests you have other issues. Royal Purple is a copycat of Valvoline with some purple dye. If you want cleaning power, don't look at detergents. They're important for neutralizing and isolating sludge that gets kicked up into suspension, but they don't really clean per say. Detergents (detergent inhibitors) are acid neutralizers in the form of calcium and magnesium sulfonate. The same way they neutralize acids in your gut that cause heartburn and indigestion, they neutralize acids in the oil that cause oxidation and corrosion. They exist more to keep the oil clean, not clean the engine. My comments are reflective of the general lack of knowledge in YT land, and the constant misinformation.
@TenzaMotorsports

Your comment is a reflection of someone who doesn’t even pay attention to what is said in the video. Don’t worry you’re not the only one with comprehension issues. Let me explain it AGAIN. This head came off an engine I purchased 5k miles ago. The engine was owned and operated by someone else for around 170k miles before my ownership. I rebuilt the bottom end. Checked the head and left it dirty (on purpose) to do some cleaning tests. Your comment on a dirty engine. “Suggests you have other issues” only proves you didn’t listen. There is nothing wrong with this engine. Your small racing circle that doesn’t use Royal purple doesn’t mean anything at all. Like at all. I can literally do that with any brand or product. None of my friends run BBS wheels. Doesn’t mean they aren’t good. No point is made with that argument. Haters can hate all they want. The tests show it cleans it and keeps it clean. No misinformation. None. Please take the toxicity somewhere else off my channel. This is to show my experiences, not to hear some rando get butt hurt about how good Royal Purple is. Thanks for commenting!
