I still think the Soviets give a run for her money but she seems to make the soviets also run for their money, but my favorite carrier is Kaga for more of the history side.
My one gripe about Saipan is her airplane models are off: she should have Douglas AD-1 Skyraiders instead of Curtis SC2C Helldivers. Correction: The planes should be BTD Destroyers as others have pointed out.
It's definitely a contender for best CV. Also like you said it's a really powerful ship at the hands of a skilled player. I expect her to get nerfed though, so we'll have to wait and see how she fairs later on.
@@zman55646 They'll nerf her because of the horde of bad players (who make up about 90% of the playerbase) complaining about her. It's the whole reason why Weimar is getting nerfed by moving her up to Tier 7 as is (still think that's the wrong move though, but at least WG is trying), because enough people complained about Weimar. The same will probably happen to Saipan when skilled players start steamrolling players with Saipan, which I'm not gonna lie I can't wait to do lmao.
@@jome2284 mate the Weimar isn’t good for just ‘high skill players’ any potato can rack up damage in that ship. I never bought it as HE spammers aren’t my thing. But Saipan requires skill. Weimar doesn’t IMO

Well, I must admit, you managed to make me gain interest in the Saipan. Basically, it did not interest me since I have already obtained the Kaga (and that I love it, both in terms of gameplay and historical aspect), but your video makes me say that it is worth it! That aside, two very good parts, and nice to watch! A pretty good video enjoyable to watch, keep it up!
It’s not a contender. It’s the unquestionable best carrier in the game. I really worry about what this thing is going to turn the game into due to its ability to flood everything it touches multiple times and planes don’t go down. It will turn the game into an AA cluster fest, which will kill it for me.

JUST UNLOCKED HER LAST NIGHT! Did a Maiden Tour of 4 Voyages! She served well, and with no upgrades whatsoever!! First battle, I hit a decent amount of targets, no kills, team lost, I survived! 2nd, I hit plenty of targets, improvement of the first, one kill, I survived, team won. 3rd, same as second, slightly better improvement of striking, and more experience gained. Still only 1 kill, team wins and I survived! 4th battle?? Was my break out! I realized I needed to focus better on the lining of my targets, approach, and timing! 3 kills, & winning with kill on Kaga. I survived of course! All with no upgrades! No experience on Saipan! Saipan is EASILY my favorite CV of the game so far! I've only had the American line all the way through Lexington, plus Hosho (IJN? forgot name), Reihn, and Hermes. Lex is fun, but seemed to have a huge learning curve, and took me a long time, and needed all the upgrades before I got where I thought I was good, still having bad results. Saipan?? No upgrades, first 4 battles, 75% wr, 5 Kills, 100% survive rate?? IM JUST GETTING STARTED!! 😁 Follow me, as I'm trying to build my YT on many games I play!! You'll already see my Maiden voyage of Lexington, about 6 mo ago! And I'll have my Maiden Voyage of Saipan within the week! 😁
Still don't understand their obsession with CVs recently like I get it it's a new class but it's also the most boring like Kaga's the only one I can say that is somewhat unique and has a different play style than the others
Carriers are great for people (myself at the top of that list) that can't aim worth a damn with normal shots. I can land 3 torps on a DD no problem though.
She's gonna get nerfed, but I think they should keep the planes as is. Nerf the number of planes on deck (she is (I believe) the smallest CV in game after all) and adjust the squadron size to four instead of six for the torp bombers.

id love to get more powerful carriers but whenever i play a T7 cv battle my entire team dies in 3 minutes. I played 15 battles in my kaga since i got it, 13 were losses and i was top of the team 10 of the 13
Ngl once this ship will be common my JB and US BBs are gonna be played a lot Poor Shokaku players though, Kaga is one of the strongest CV and they add one even stronger now, WG gotta be careful with their CVs, its not that bad but wait and see
Kaga has better aa and actually has secondaries and her planes get melted unlike Saipan she has not great aa no secondary armament but has better planes
She does seem very strong but soviet blueprint carrier technology with its skip bombers being able to one shot a lot of the dds u find at tier 6 and 7 makes me think that pobeda is still stronger
Saipan is a Tier VII ship, same as Kaga. If any member of the Yorktown-class makes it to Legends, it will most likely be Enterprise. I just hope that she comes to Legends with her AP bombs that she has in PC.
sooner you drop the torps, the sooner you can zoom away from their AA fire if you’re already full aimed there’s no point holding until you’re at point blank range unless you desperately need to hit your target or its the end of the match
@@pgrapidz is there a difference between AA damage planes recieve in attack mode vs when they are flying away? I know planes in strike mode have like a 10% reduction to AA DMG recieved, do planes "zooming away" have a similar buff? Regardless of striking early or late, the planes are still going in the same direction toward the enemy ship If they don't, why not abuse that 10% buff until the end of there's no other buffs.
