Sarah Strong's mom is involved with the Celtics front office and is close friends with Ashley Battle (Uconn alum) who also works for the Celtics, so I'm sure Battle has been in her ear about getting Sarah to UConn. Strong is also following a lot of the team on Instagram. I'd be surprised if she doesn't become a Husky.
If she doesn't go to UCONN, she will probably miss the chance of a lifetime. Here's the thing. Since 1995 when we won our first National Championship, our UCONN basketball teams are part of our State culture. We are a small State, but the fan base at the games is always high. Then there are thousands of people who watch the games at home because they can't drive up to Storrs a kind of way far away place. When the UCONN women's team won in 1995, our local CT tv channel started showing them on our local station. I think that happening is what ignited the growth and love of our UCONN women's team. In our State, they are celebrities and so much loved. You can barely go anywhere in Connecticut w/o seeing a UCONN flag, a bumper sticker, or someone wearing a UCONN jacket, cap or shirt. UCONN women's basketball is not a fad in CT, it is a cultural tradition. Sarah Strong would be part of that history (we're still the one with the most National Titles) and she would be loved by our fans.
They also air UCONN games on the YES network in the NYC metro area too!! So she's getting the chance to play infront of the biggest media market in the country
Yep, 11 titles-the last one nearly 8 years ago. But what have you done for me lately? I think it's time for Coach Geno to get a new sales pitch, my friend. †
I totally agree with you UCONN needs Sarah Strong badly. I'm seriously hoping that she chooses UCONN. They disparately need her. In addition UCONN will need to add a really good big from the transfer portal next season too. I don't see Edwards, Griffin or Bueckers returning next season either.
I think Paige will stay, she has worked really hard to make Azzi play for uconn just for them to have 17 games in total, plus in some games one of them was under the time limit due to recovery. Besides, Paige has said that she didn’t play in a uconn jersey for long, she wants to represent the school for longer than she was able to. But for edwards and griffin, don’t think they’re gonna stay.
@jimmiesmith5590 …the w is much more physical, I’d rather stay one more year and develop my body strength, turns could happen any minute but it’s all up to her.
If you go to SC you might sit alot the first year or 2. Lot of talent. Geno would of won 3 titles with that team. They only won 1. You learn how to be a pro and WNBA coaches love Uconn players. They are pro- ready. Injuries are the reason they haven't won the last few years. Strong is a type of player they don't have and could start right of way
Geno offered a new 2024 Forward (Emely Rodriguez from the Dominican Republic). Think that’s his next focus and not Strong. I’d take Strong at South Carolina 🐔😭🫰🏾 But she probably going to LSU. UNC just isn’t good.. they have like a top 5 talented roaster with all those guards and a few bigs but the coach don’t know what to do with them.
I think Strong will not attend UConn. Seems to me, if she was choosing UConn, she would have already announced same. I would say Staley or UNC have the best chance.
In a nutshell yea - & really this entire thing is stupid - trying to guise what they are going to do as nobody.knows as I don't know what.my daughter.are.going to do day to day. And btw the previous video proves how I have no idea.
If Strong commits to UConn…you will be looking at a formidable front line of El Jafy, Patterson, Strong & Brady. If you have seen her play, El Jafy has Stewie like skills. It was a shame when she got hurt. I agree that Edwards and Griffin will probably leave, especially if they win a championship this year. I see Muhl returning and also Paige, especially with Fudd’s season ending knee injury. Paige and Fudd came to UConn to play together and both have missed years of play. They have only played 17 games together in 3 years. And they also came to UConn to win a title. Yes, they will be loaded at guard next year, but you’d rather have an abundance of riches than be short handed.
@@BuntherMiles Do you know how ignorant you sound trying to predict injuries or assume injuries are isolated to UConn? Injuries have nothing to do with the actual operations of a program. EVERY program has injuries. They are unpredictable and not isolated to a program. No matter where she commits, injuries will occur.
OMG! That comment about your teen daughter almost made me spit my coffee all over my laptop. Too damned funny and spot on. I only made sons but had seven sisters so have a pretty good idea., lol
Yes I think that was Sasha Goforth. Sometimes they make a roundup article about the team, which might be the case there, but if you make the headline about Saylor that's confusing.
BIG mistake if she does commit to UConn, sorry. The fact that she did not commit to UConn already proves she's still considering the other teams on her list. Brady is not 6'4".
Uconn will get the most out of her. That's why more WNBA players and Olympic players come from UCONN. Look what they did for Lou Lopez Sensational last year. In one year they turned her into the fifth overall pick in the WNBA draft. Nobody new her before last year
Hamilton Neal thought Adhel Tac was going to UCONN 😅 if Strong was set on LSU or UConn she would have committed during signing period. UNC or NC State could be in hunt now.
Why can’t she follow Joyce Edwards to Carolina? If not there I’ll be happy with her going to a local community college. Anywhere but to Geno where the history has it that players get hurt or LSU where they just buying players like the New York Yankees or Los Angeles Dodgers and not winning the playoffs in recent years.
Haha they need her real bad uconn hasn't look the same they use to be dominant but injuries get them. We don't need strong for the gamecocks but because of the group we got coming in 2024
I'd stay away from UConn. Their days of dominance is over. They haven't developed a dominant big since Tina Charles and all they do is recruit slow, unathletic white girls who get massively exposed when playing athletic teams. Also, Geno's propensity to not play freshmen is antiquated. You see freshmen all over the country making big contributions to their teams, and yet UConn hasn't really had an impact freshman in years, other than Paige Bueckers, despite having top notched recruits year after year.
I'm black and that white athletes is totally wrong as in uconn has the best white players in the world Sue Bird DT Breanna Stewart. Just admit it your a Uconn hater.
I would love to see her in Gamecock uniform but having an influx of four five ⭐️instead of current 3 minutes could be a problem with possibly only Te-hina and Cardosa leaving. Log jam at 3-4 spot if she comes.
@@keithanderson7141 SC will lose up to 4 players and Hall is a rising senior. Sarah wants to play the 3 so the numbers can work. Just like Aja, Sarah will start her sophomore year.
