"Stephen hawking here" is probably the simplest insult that they ever wrote, but it's my absolute favorite

Theo writers either wrote down every insult they’ve ever heard in their life or are just evil people 😂

It’s not the best line but Julia’s delivery makes even the simplest insults noteworthy. She’s so dismissive of Gary 😂

This whole time I thought she was referring to Catherine which made me bawl out laughing. I didn't even notice gary.

The way that everything Catherine does annoys Selina so much makes it that much better

The way her eyes immediately light up when she hears she has support in double digits for her mother's possible death, this woman really is a *MONSTER* 😂

1:48 I love how Kent suggests that Selina will see a significant boost in the polls if she pulls the plug on her mother but selecting Jonah as VP was a bridge too far 😂
@ChefLuisFayad
@ChefLuisFayad Год назад
Kent is a logical guy. Selina's mother's days were numbered. She was a vegetable. She was already dead for all intents and purposes and at least this way her death could be used to serve some kind of purpose in helping her daughter's re-election bid. Jonah Ryan being a heartbeat away from the presidency is a far more dangerous and frightening potential reality than timing the pulling of the plug on someone's vegetative mother for a poll bump

it wasn't his mother

He didn't ''suggest'' anything, he answered her question (whether spike in raitings will end if her mother dies). His job is to give cold statistics. Jonah was a dangerous fool and chosing him was not only unethical but also foolish.

Is this possibly where Marjorie starts to connect with Catherine?? I know she first asked her out when Catherine interviewed her for her film, but I’d imagine she might have felt a spark comforting her after Selena asked her to take care of Catherine’s crying.

Wow is this episode dark. Funny too. The ending feels like an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Selina really is a villain. It's not possible to root for a person like this. At this point if anything negative comes her way it's okay with me. It's hard to know how to feel about a lot of the toxicity on this show. And am I the only person who has a crush on Anna Chlumsky?

Maybe that's the whole point of the entire show. Despite S. Meyer being the protagonist, she is also at the same time, an antagonist. Like back in seasons 1 and 2 showed her and her staff to be the lesser of two evils - them being the good guys - and POTUS Hughes and his team the bad guys then. Come season 3, the veil had been lifted and the toxicity grew worse and worse then on. Maybe this show, in its dark humor is teaching as that the higher you climb the ladders of politics and country-ruling the more you have to sacrifice your own morals and beliefs for your own wordly gains. And the benefits for the people you are serving under/who serve you. Meaning politics suck! Politicians Suck! What doesn't suck are the paychecks but their jobs are so stressful. Like goddamn.

@@skyblazeXIII Well I am in the last two seasons where she isn't President anymore. Rightly or wrongly I could take all the toxicity when she was in public office but now that she has no job the toxicity is even harder to take. Also the constant pornographic metaphors. Please stop with the pornographic metaphors. Ultimately it's just too toxic for me. I don't know if I will finish the series.

Selina was the product of a narcissistic mother that only criticized her. In that respect you have to admire how well she turned out. She's a much better mother to Catherine than her mother was to her, though that's not saying a lot.

@@halwasserman7905 You should. Yeah, the sex jokes can be cringey, in your face like "goddamn he/she just said that? Don't theybhave any censors? Your in a public workspace and/or home respect your mouth, why don't ya?" But, yeah, that's part of the humor. As uncomfortable as it is, that shit works. Think South Park meets Game of Thrones, but better. Instead of dragons, wizards and shit killing you with swords you die a little bit with their words. "The pen being mightier than the sword" and whatnot. Ok, I have gone superbly off-topic with that analogy, but it kinda works, I think. Whatever, Veep, throughout its 8 seasons had better writing and character development and character corruption when it comes to politics and shit a whole lot better than GoT will ever be. Hell, Vikings(Michel Hirst)is a better show than GoT. Sorry. I went way off-topic and mixed different TV show genres again. Point being:great story writing helps make a show a smash hit banger. And Veep is a smash hit banger.

@@Jukeboxster Poor Catherine, Selina treated her like shit. I'm sure she loved her in some weird way but that level of abuse was pretty annoying to watch. But, I can't fault Selina, because she has issues being around family members and shit and showing genuine human kindness. Maybe it is Narcissism and/or emotional neglect and desensitization she(Selina) has. Which is a weird personality to have. Especially when it comes to family. But, fuck it, "judge not, lest you be judged." Let's be real, we a re like that, maybe not EXACTLY like that. But not all of us like being around family is what I mean. They say "blood is thicker than water", but sometimes found family is much more wholesome and meaningful than your actual blood family will ever be. Catherine found that in her wife and son, and in her son's biological father. She made a right choice in choosing him to sire her son. He's a cool dude. I'm actually happy Selina and her team's influence did not corrupt him. Poor Jonah did get a little corrupted and jaded at the end. But he's still a cool dude. And even Selina Meyer found a family with her assistant/man-servant/simp/angel what's-his-name. Yet, sadly, she sold him out, like everybody else on her team for the Presidential position. Politics is evil and dirty and it just makes everybody miserable.
