Maybe use social media influence to combine fishing meetups with a beach clean up. Maybe arrange it so the cleanup/volunteer opportunity is somewhere that requires permission to access and then you can follow it up with fishing the exclusive location

In regards your Request dlnr should have a channel where they provide more information about the fishing. These days a lot of people has social media accounts and they are always looking for information so why not provide them with the correct information that will be a game changer like Mike Sakamoto channel but content that shows fishing areas regulation on species some tips etc

Try reaching out to Jerry from Campania Lures. He released a good bit of lures to help out local wild life and I was thinking MAYBE you can get some sales data on those lures to see how much the fishing community supports the local wild life. I dont know if it's possible or if it would be helpful but worth a shot. Another thing you want to probably look at is the age variance within our community, as the younger ones are more likely to use social media (you can probably find statistics on that somewhere online as my old professor would say lol).

I came late to the party and your form is down but I was going to suggest the APPS Fishbrain and Fish Rules Hawaii fisheries does a poor job of getting out the rules to visitors I had no clue about size limits bag limits I think it’s a good idea to make visitors get a free license with a mandatory laws rules book so they have the regulations also a color description of the fish would be great because black-and-white I can see it from myself you can’t tell what the fish because I have never fished these waters before I have no clue what the fish looks like so I don’t know what I’m catching for example we called needle fish saltwater muskies

Lots of people who care about the resource don't think you should be broadcasting to the entire world how to harvest from our very limited fisheries to people who only care about taking and taking without concern for the need for meaningful management measures.

Hey good point, I view it as this, people are going to learn how to fish if they want to, and people fish already who do so in gnarly ways. If I can teach them how to fish and at the same time convince them how to do it in a positive way and what needs to be put back and how to do so, and maybe change a few minds along the way of people who could fish and care for the fisheries more, it is a net win in my eyes.
