GUYS, I Confronted the 'World's Most Toxic Skatepark'.. new video link at the bottom of this short! The goal was to try and bring all sports together and also see how crazy this park actually is, check it out! also i only spent an hour learning to skate, and this whole video is not to hate on skateboarding, its just for entertainment! I love all sports that people do at the skatepark and i think we should all be more inclusive
Tbh i think skateing is hard to start but once you learn the foot movememt its really easy i learned a kick flip in 1 day took me 2 months to land a tailwip so thats why i say that
The BEST advice i can give is the advice i got that made a huge difference when i was young starting out. MASTER THE OLLIE!! Dont mess with any other tricks untill you learn to Ollie well, it is the cornerstone to 90% of skate tricks. Learn to ollie smoothly, learn to ollie while rolling (fast), ollie at least a foot. I promise you there are a bunch of other tricks (kickflips, 180s, heelflips, etc) that will be much much easier to get down if you can ollie proper! You halfass learn it and try to move on, you gonna struggle and likely end up giving up skating all together. OLLIE IS KING!
i think it's easier to pick up and ride a scooter, but there are always gonna be harder and harder tricks to learn on both of them.. its hard to say one is specifically harder when your talking about tricks because they're so different, its like saying hockey is harder than football. sure a scooter is easier to pickup and ride, but thats also why people do triple backflips on them and not on skateboards
@@JoshKreugerboth the skill ceilings are the same but the skill ramp is WAY different technically making skateboarding harder.. still respect to scooters y’all really got shins of steel 🫡
Yeah i totally agree. I know in this video it comes across that i truly believe skateboarding id easy, but i know its not haha. 90% of these sports are mental, and thats the issue i had with dropping in lol
Omg the biggest mental thing ever is fr dropping in, I’d say trying to shuvit was harder than learning to kickflip tho and Ollie’s were definitely a big struggle for me
Soo you’re saying rollerblading is harder? You act like we don’t use our legs while skateboarding. We pump, and our knees are bent 24/7 just like yalls are
@@ParadoxGraffiti200 I think rollerblading might actually be more dangerous than skateboarding. I’ve done both. I’ve been credit carded on a skateboard.
@@gadgettv2023 Maybe, but rollerblading is easier to start. Skateboarding is hard to start and even harder to master. And there aren’t many tricks for rollerblading so it doesn’t have as much variety. That’s why I choose skating
Bro that is a an Ollie, it’s really impressive to be able to do that within one hour of standing on board haha Obviously to be a functional Ollie you need waaaaay more practice but it’s still a good job for one session :)
@@61936no we expect the back wheels to leave the ground the bare minimum of landing an Ollie he just popped the tail and jumped the tail never left the ground nor the back wheels therefore he did not do an Ollie
@@Wickssss first of all, they aren't playing skate and even if they played, I don't agree it wouldn't count. When someone does a rocket kickflip it counts. It's not about making a trick look pretty. If you land your trick, it counts. That's all.
The difference is that a simple Ollie and skateboarding is an advanced motion, When an Ollie in scootering is basically just jumping with a metal bar in your hand.
It's mostly scooter kids, and kids In general don't belong rolling around like bafoons at the park. Only people doing tricks and watching the lanes without snaking people deserve to be there.
I mainly do scooting but ik how to ride a board. My first trick on a board was a shove it and i was so happy. Respect to both sports and have a good day
Skateboarder here and the other day my friend let me use her scooter and honestly there are a few of the same qualities but also not really, your foot stance is different, all the tricks are different. But then again I’d only used a scooter one other time and I was like 7 in my nanny’s driveway. Basically they are both tough skills but once you learn them you learn them. Of course there will always be new tricks to learn, duh. But you shouldn’t put someone (or a community down) just because it looks easier or you have to share the skatepark. I live in a very very cold area and I have never once seen hockey players and figure skaters arguing over the ice. Why can’t we be that way? I’m sure there are some things on the park that scooters can do so we can give them the things they can ride and have fun on. And if you’re a skater and don’t like scootering? Just keep your distance and ignore them. (Thank you for coming to my TED talk)
I've been practicing Ollies everyday for the past two weeks and they're still not perfect, there is no way he did it that fast. Skaters who agree with me. 👇
I think it's possible to learn an Ollie that fast, not a good one but the Ollie he did was bad, didn't catch at all basically just popped and managed not to get bodied. plus he has a dude right there teaching him
i did learn it within 5-10 mins but my friend helped me, plus i have a lot of balance and skills acquired on a scooter that came in handy and like that guy said, i barely popped off the ground
@@redxz9 You think so? Cuz as someone who doesn't ride scooters or skateboards, I feel like I would have equally a hard time learning how to do a trick
@@JoshKreuger could you provide an example of a crazier scooter trick then say yuto horigomes Nollie backside 270 heel flip board slide? im cherry picking the arguably craziest skateboarding trick ever done to be fair but still
@@TipsyFGC I mean, maybe one of those gymnastic tricks like a flair or front flip over stair? Maybe be a "Free Willie"? At that point I feel like we're comparing apples to oranges.
Interested to see where you are with skating since its been a while and you seem to have some talent. A lot of people cant do some of these with months of practice.
Scooters are like skateboards with training wheels. Only the training wheels are the handle bars. I don't believe in hating on somebody else's passion though. Just be yourself and have fun doing whatever sport you like
I been skating for years now and still struggle but I used to have a go on my mates scooter from time to time and just learnt to 360 and double whip flat pretty quickly and did find it a lot easier to learn but I can’t lie some of the stuff scooter rider do is dope
I've been skateboarding for almost 10 years. It is a very difficult sport. But it's probably one of the most rewarding sports as well. Especially when you land a trick you've been trying for a really long time
They’re actually both pretty tough. But I’d honestly have to say that scootering is a little easier just because my tricks on it are more consistent than my ones on the skateboard. And trust me, I’m pretty good at both so I know what I’m talking about 👌🏼
It depends on when you started. I had my first board at 10 and have been skating ever since. I have really held back with the craziness since I've gotten older. However, my husband and I are going to the skatepark tomorrow. Old habits are hard to break. Wish me luck!
I think it comes down to basics, both are absurdly difficult but it's gonna take far longer for someone to get comfortable on a board than a scooter. Thus its looked at as easier since the progression looks easier from an outsiders perspective
To master scootering is also hard. But like you can drop in on all the obstacles on a skatepark, barspin, tailwhip and 360 the first time you ever touch a scooter if your a bit athletic
Basic scootering is easy. But as a skater (skaters have a stereotype of hating scooters) I can’t throw shade at somebody who’s mastered or in the process of mastering scootering, because that is tough.
scootering is a bit easier simply because you have another point of contact, although i’d take a skateboard to the shin over a scooter to the ankle any day
