Scream Tail is the Jigglypuff of our wildest dreams. It has been buffed with some higher statistics and the incredible ability, Protosynthesis. Gen 9 Competitive Pokemon wouldn't be the same without this powerful pink blob. He kinda looks like someone I met in one of my game design and development courses.
Gen 9 Pokemon Showdown is one of the greatest online gaming sites in history. From Pikachu and Charizard, to Palafin and Roaring Moon, The new Pokemon games, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, have introduced a lot of new faces. Can I succeed in one of the best android games of all time? If so, I'm gonna get myself a Walmart bakery Pokemon cake to celebrate.
Gholdengo is a Pokemon made of pure gold. He must have done some online business management courses to accumulate all that wealth. Or perhaps he might want to learn how to make money playing video games on RU-vid. In any case, he's a powerful metagame force, with absolutely no interest in online game development schools.

I wish Slaking was more viable. So unfortunate that it is has to compete with great days such as Stantler Saturday and Xatu Xunday. And with the recent rise of Zangoose Zunday, it's difficult to find a place in the current calendar metagame for Slaking Slaturday.

Nah, if they predict return and a swap a gengar into shadow ball it goes crazy

If there's a blissey in front of you and switch options of skarm or gengar, then damage could be 0 or 18-22% or 100%, so 2/3 chance for negligible damage. If it's rock slide then damage could be 47-56% or 35-41% or 68-81% if it's a defensive gengar, chance to ohko offensive gengar

@reallygoodsnusnu yes but gengar would outspeed next turn so you have to switch and guarentee take damage or somesort of other utility move (idrk what gengar runs I dont play gen 3 OU lol). It's better to guarentee one shot any gengar spread than do around half and ne forced to take damage. Plus ground/normal/fighting coverage doesn't really need rock and ghost compliments the others better.

Blastoise has 0 longevity. Extending 0 to 0 is pointless, might as well have an attack.

4:15 🤓☝🏻 uhm actually it's not flipping coins, you could've determined that the opponent would see that the best course of action would be clicking toss, since it covers focus punch and shadow ball and puts slaking in spike range so he can't get back in anymore 🤓☝🏻 (said with the benefit of hindsight, as a much worse player)

it genuinely irritates me that people don't rate slaking in gen 3 ou, along with medicham and marowak it's one of the 3 pure wallbreakers that can destroy an entire team but has a major drawback. medi is frail, marowak is slow and slaking has truant, all of them are viable you just need to outplay your opponent (or use ninjask :/ ). i'd easily rather build with slaking than jolteon or cloyster but somehow those guys are ou, and slaking is what a d rank in the viability rankings? tell me that after playing bluesenergy lol (if you aren't blues i'd probably use aroma/heal bell, wish rachi, pursuit tar and a mag though to minimise the gaming necessary lol)

To be fair, every pokemon can be good if you just "outplay your opponent". Slaking can do things, and can do them well, but it's entirely reliant on predicting well. Most other pokemon are not as vulnerable as it is to a failed prediction.

Saying "viable but you need to outplay your opponent" applies to a ton of pokemon, if not the majority. You could use almost any fully evolved pokemon to success in gen 1 ou, just looks at jimothy cool's streams - heck, he even manages to win with unevolved mons, because he outplays the opponent. The reason that slacking isn't ranked ou is because it is 100% inconsistent. It relies entirely upon prediction or matchup fishing, which is different from, say, tyrannitar, which relies on setting up passive daamge that nullifies leftovers for most mons, and is a powerful offensive presence that is threatening without heavy prediction or praying for a good matchup. It is flexible, and applicable to most ou teams. There are way better ways to reason that something should be ou ranked than say something that applies to everything... because at that point, just say "this pokemon can deal damage, it should be ou".

@@M4x_P0w3r i do get the point, but the big difference here is that slaking is so insanely powerful that it makes up for it. by using slaking you're warping the entire game around it, and while you do have to back yourself to outplay to an extent there's also ways to mitigate that like i said. wish and heal bell support give you enough longevity that eventually you will get the call right and nail something, pursuit and mag eliminate your two best switch ins being skarm and gar, and when i use it i go adamant double edge which is so strong that it chunks resists anyway so i don't actually have to predict at all

@@isuckatgaming1873 that's not what i was saying. slaking has absolutely obscene damage potential, all the coverage it needs, and ridiculous bulk considering it's offensive firepower. and with a good team and solid decision making you don't have to constantly make balls to the wall predictions, but regardless the point is that if you can overcome truant you have a very fast, very bulky mon with 160 attack. you do need to make predictions and it does need support, but slaking in a perfect scenario is far more powerful than any other mon in the tier

@@aldrichunfaithful3589 But every turn you need to need to loaf or switch away it's a free turn you are giving your opponent to outmaneuver you. For instance, I run a bulky Weezing with Taunt and Will-o Wisp and it completely shuts down Slaking and anyone that comes afterwards and tries to heal its HP or burn. And with the constant back and forth of needing to be brought in and out, hazards and sand chip away at it a lot, and the moment that the support goes down, Slaking is left even more crippled. All of this without even going into how Substitute and Protect pretty much ruins a Slaking's day.

this game settles it, slaking is trash. Being vulnerable to the most common pokemon is his downfall, every game you either see one of those 3 (gengar zap skarm). It's like BD snorlax that need too much support to be viable, but far worse.

slaking can threaten any mon, sure if you get the predicts wrong it won't do much but thats not unlike other CB mons. It's swingy sure, but not "trash".
