Thank you Chris, I found the information most interesting, particularly as I've had a few mishaps over the years with myTyros 5 when I've had a to do a full reset. This soft reset will help me out tremendously.

Please, I have followed your tutorial on my psr 670,which is misbehaving... but I can not find the system reset. Instead,where the system reset is,I see other things totally different. What can I do, please?
Hi, proud owner of a Tyros 5. Having 'played' with some non-original styles, now when I use the sustain button it is immense (value 118). I don't want to have to change that for every voice. Does the soft reset give me the 'normal' overall sustain back?
Hi Chris .... Is this the same for all Yamaha keyboards ? I have a psr sx 900 & hv found same problems of non responsive key’s or... programmed formats ! However my fix ...up to now , is just to tune off my unit & Restart.. ! Is this ok ? I hv done this 2 times only since new 10 months 🥴
Hi Chris... Is this Tyros fix the same for all Yamaha keyboards ? I have a PSR SX 900 and hv found to same sort of problems....! However..... my quick fix is too just turn off the keyboard & restart or reboot the system.... has happened only 2 or 3
Hi, I have a Tyros 3 that makes a strange echo sound, I have to turn off one of the channels to remove it, happened once before on my Tyros one, I found a bad surface mount capacitor and replaced it with one from a vcr player and that fixed It, I think a motherboard replacement is pretty expensive for these, Ever come across that yourself?
Doing this would worry me as since having my Tyros 4 (about 4 weeks now) I have changed all sorts of things to suit ME. Like the CHORD FINGERING I have changed to FINGERED from A1 FINGERED (I quite often play 4 fingered chords, particularly when using a LEFT Voice); I have my SPLIT POINT on G rather than F2# (so I can play an A7 with the G on top); the INITIAL TOUCH to SOFT 2 and the AFTER TOUCH to SOFT etc. So I think if I did a FACTORY RESET I would be wondering what has happened to my keyboard as it wouldn't be playing right (for ME!).
Absolutely right too. If you have particular settings that are different from the default ones then doing this type of reset may not be for you. I suppose you would have to save your settings within a registration first so you can instantly reload them. However I would say that for most people it'll be a helpful tool to have for fixing little problems.
@@tyrostipsters Hi Chris. Thanks for replying. Another thing I had thought of was the 'boxes' I have ticked when I press the MEMORY button when storing a registration into a REGISTRATION MEMORY. They would also go back to the factory reset? Of course there is no reason why I can't jot down on a piece of paper anything special I have done and then set it up again after the 'soft reset'. Pencil and paper? Horrified at the thought! And while I am here, please thank David for sending me your updated MUSIC FINDER file. I now have 1,464 songs in my Music Finder rather than just the 135 I had when I got the keyboard.
