I’m sure the reason it’s taking so long is because they were hacked. Hell you brought up the Venom game and we weren’t ever supposed to know that. Their files are prob still all over the place
But of course, "fans" would rather dish out anger and rush development without knowing the full story behind it. I understand there's shit devs out there, but are we really doing any good by rushing everybody else? There's a reason that to some degree, gamers are viewed as toxic.
The spider verse reference was because of a game that was in development but was dropped so probably not getting anything in reference to that but carnage better be amazing how long it’s taking honestly
Them being hacked TWICE and having crucial information for they're games and personal lives is probably why, blame the leakers we could potentially not get that wolverine game cause of that or it'll be put on the backlog for a while
Speaking as a game developer: I haven't seen them advertising the DLC at all which makes me think it's either not done or not being made right now. It's important to let them take their time and announce it when they're ready. I don't remember there being any announcement for DLC regarding Carnage. I thought that was teasing the setup for the Venom game.
@doggosho3044 eah but they're saying that Insomniac never outright said they were going to release dlc anytime soon. Even if it's planned, we weren't supposed to know about it, at least not this early.
@@theblindcinephileAfter the debug menu glitch with the NG+ update outright leaking the plot of the DLC stories to everyone, wouldn’t be surprised if they just up and cancelled it all
Excuse my ignorance, but what does getting hacked have to do with the development of any game or DLC? Unless something was stolen or deleted, shouldn’t any or all progress still be there?
Edit: great, now I wrote an essay. I’m really sick of this trend where big companies take months, almost a year to give dlc, that they keep hyping. When you release the idea too early, people get tired of being excited. I’m talking about the same thing he was talking about when he spoke on the homelander dlc for Mortal Kombat 1. They’d announced it, then waited months to put it in. I’d get 2-3, maybe even 4, but it was way longer than that and by the time it came out, nobody was actually freaking out and cheering for it. The hack has nothing to really do with what I’m talking about, and honestly, I’d say good on them because while it really sucks, they can combat the hackers. They honestly annoy me and I’m getting sick of them, because they show unfinished stuff that hasn’t even been properly announced, and they always say, “nobody should buy this, it doesn’t even look finished, it looks horrible”. Tell them, “screw you, now it’ll never be finished. Good job asshole, now nobody gets to enjoy this”. Glad they didn’t do it with GTA VI. But honestly, I’m debating whether other big companies should start doing that to combat the hacks, because those guys suck.
@jlopez240gaming7 kinda is because on top of that they got hit with the Sony layoffs and since all thier focus shifted once the got hacked is def gon take some time to get back up on their feet
@@jlopez240gaming7 you’re assuming that and that’s the problem with the gamers today you don’t know how much they lost you ,you don’t know what they lost, and you don’t know how long it takes to rebuild it or rewrite it they could just want to start fresh with DLC after the hack, you don’t know stop assuming
Insomniac was hacked months ago so they had to set all their plans back. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they were saving the DLC announcements for August.
@@kevontheoriginal4757 It’s definitely patched now but the NG+ update accidentally gave players access to the debug menu. Some parts of the debug menu hinted towards DLC
THANK YOU! FINALLY someone who UNDERSTANDS, their not doing this on purpose, these people are getting fucked left and right making it hard for them to work.
@@MaYhEmJaYy101 people are acting like that never happened or it wasn’t that bad but stuff like that can’t set the whole studio back And I get being impatient with it but still people were doxxed and they were hacked
@@abe7885 nah definitely bro from the outside looking in we just fans of the thing we love. So I get people frustrated but people that work in that industry of field don’t know how much damage the situation hit them. I’m sure they gone give us a dlc just need to wait. Me personally i care more about the people that were affected by that horrible situation rather than wondering when hell they gone drop a dlc. It’s just sad how we as human being have no compassion or empathy anymore. Idk you but I can definitely respect a person like you.
Difference here is that wasn’t insinuated in the end of the game, this is a sequel of a game that had dlc super close after release and the end of the game sets up the idea of dlc
EXACTLY BRO everybody wants everything to come out so soon like it takes such a long time to make videogames and the community around these games can get so toxic it hurts to see
The answer is simple: Crunch has finally caught up with them. They had to rush to get Spider-Man 2 out and now, they had to spend extra time to put the rest of it in. Then the leaks came out and slowed things down even more.
They got hacked. I'm pretty sure they couldn't just go back to work as always after that. They need to get everything fixed so the developers' personal information is not at risk, that delayed them a lot, not excusing them for everything, but people need to understand what Insomiac has been going through
I generally forgot all about that…what it called? Silk something? Where the heck is that? They have had years to make that game! I this point I’m suspecting something else is going on in that studio.
@sleepylmguy9968 It's called Hollow Knight Silksong, and with the lack of a release date, the community has started making petitions to sacrifice people to get the game to release quicker
They literally said in the game it could take months or even a year. it will happen when it will happen. My guess they didn’t like the episode release thing from last time and just want to make a whole DLC let them cook.
Just let them cook. I understand why everyone wants it soon, but trust the process. As long as the dlc is better than the dlc for the first game. It means they did their job. Let these devs cook
I hear you I’m mad that they’re taking as long as they are but we must remember their entire plan for the next 10 years was held for ransom then leaked from Spider-Man 2 dlcs to entire games like venom n X-men. I’m giving them time to collect themselves to deter what they’re going to do for the future.
Elden Ring fans waited 2 YEARS for Shadow of the Erd Tree, if they haven’t dropped yet it means they’re cookin let them chill in the kitchen a little longer
Well remember game development is taking longer and longer every single year. I say it'll be ready when it's ready when it's ready. These developers are stressed enough as is.
Honestly man I just want an update where it lets you choose whether or not you want white webs when you swing around with the symbiote suit & to let us choose what's suit is used for surge mode for Peter. And maybe if we're just barely lucky, they'll add a purple color option for the Symbiote so you can match with the purple suit and not look weird with the black labs / tendrils.
…it’s better to have dlc release a month after the game? So basically, just cut off already finished content so you can pay more a month later. I think 2 isn’t an especially strong game, but the way fans are treating Insomniac is actually insane, especially considering part of the wait is coming from that whole doxxing debacle a few months ago
As an aspiring game designer i can say something like a carnage dlc with a fan base like this they don't wanna mess it up which is whats taking so long
That's because Spider-Man's DLC was finished around the same time as the release, then they sold you content that should have been in the game on release. REAL DLC is made after the game comes out, like Elden Ring's or Ragnarok's.
Yeah no I actually moved on from Spider-Man 2 after the update for ng+ because I was just thinking “Oh…is that it?” Like out of all the possibilities you left hanging you chose suits??? Even the ng+ rewards you with cosmetics that aren’t even all that tbh.
Most of the team for Spider-Man 2 left for a different game. At least we got a NG+ that included stuff like new suits, mission replay tendril recolor, different suits in cutscenes, new suit styles for the insomniac original symbiote suits.
@@Theman_JD it really is just a messy situation honestly because while Classic is right from a Practical perspective, it mostly isn't their fault either
1. Multiple games in development 2. Not the main focus 3. The majority of the team for MSP2 went over to Wolverine. 4. They suffered a massive cyber attack that set them back. We just have to give them time to cook. Remember when they weren't rushed in 2018, and we got a masterpiece of a Spider-Man game? All the fans have to have that same mentality.
They got all their shit leaked and employees doxxed plus they are making wolverine and venom as we speak give them time to cook up a fire dlc with a WHOLE LOT of content and maybe they intend to drop more than one dlc at a time
Ahh, yes. The reason why this game lost the nominations is because of late DLC. What an extremely moronic statement. By that logic, Elden Ring shouldn't have won GOTY in '22 because the DLC took over 2 years to come out.
Not defending it, it's just with modern games the companies are being rushed out the door. The first game was finished this one they were forced to throw out early. That's why the DLC is taking so long. With all the layoffs in the Dev world you can even see in interviews they aren't saying a third one is even guaranteed
To be fair, Insomniac has had a lot of issues. Especially considering that hack that happened a while ago. Development was probably pushed back by a while due to that, and as well, most of their team is focused on Wolverine now. I have a feeling that we’ll be getting something out of them before the end of the year, but honestly, I’m just glad they’re still in business after what happened.
@typonumber8939 dude, whether I bring it up or doesn't negate the fact that Insomniac Studios participate in it. An article was released recently explaining one of the issues on why work doesn't get finished in game development is because of that type of crap so yeah, I'm going to point it out everytime I see it.
Tbf, they were hacked and alot of their stuff got leaked so they were set back. They also were heavily affected by the massive amount of layoffs that happened.
You know why it’s taking so long to release, because there’s people that would complain about everything and especially complain that the dlc was too “rushed” even though you would have complained even more if it took too long
I genuinely pissed when we only got to play as Venom once in the game. I was ecstatic the moment I was put in control of Venom. And we may start getting introduced to Knull, the god of the Symbiotes, since we could see his symbol on many of the symbiote bits of the game. Heck, the swirl bit on the faces of people overtaken by symbiotes was literally from when Carnage was from ressurected or possessed by this deity
I get that insomniac should have made some announcement regarding it but Spider-Man 2 itself was kinda rushed, there were tons of bugs and cutscene errors on launch day. The devs need time to BREATHE. Yes New Game+ shoulda been there from the get go but the second they got the game ready they needed it out NOW. Before it got the Cyperpunk 2077 death threats. Cuphead’s DLC took 4 years. FOUR. And yes it was short but holy crap that was the best $7 DLC I’ve ever spent. As long as insomniac keeps people posted regarding the situation then I don’t think there is any problem with them taking a little while longer.
They're going to come up with new dlc story lines that weren't shown in the game itself since it was accidentally leaked because of the debug menu in the update before it got patched out
This better be the most in-depth, most compelling, most gameplay enhancing DLC of all time because no way im waiting this long to unlock yet another suit just because it makes my webs red when im using them after 3 or 4 story missions about MJ getting devoured or kidnapped or some other character getting fucked over by him right away.
I loved the first one, to me the second one was a little better gameplay. With a much weaker story and many questionable design changes. Also when you get DLC one month after that’s not DLC that’s cut game getting solid to you after and drip feed to you.
Oh boy here come the flames. In the defense of insomniac they have had a lot to deal with in the past few months with the hacks(leaking future projects and current and former employee info) the mass layoffs in PlayStation as a whole and them falling behind on the Wolverine game which I think is where all there energy is being placed. That’s my two cents if you actually read all of this thank you for your time.
I remember being so excited for this game that it felt like a holiday when it came out. After a few play throughs including new game plus, this game is underwhelming. It’s not a bad game by any means, it’s got some amazing highs but a lot of very low moments. I wish they had done more with this game or even kept it longer and continue to develop more for us to do post game
Honestly incredibly based take, but you also gotta remember there is a voice actors strike going on currently in the world of gaming. Also they might have been affected by some form of layoffs who knows..
I feel like they don't want to explain why u won't have/will have (depending on they do) ur symbiote powers. Like it makes sense After the game. But I'm pretty sure they'd want the dlc to be a couple months after the events in spider man 2 and it wouldn't be fair to take that away just for a dlc.
