I'm not sure how to feel about the first two episodes, honestly.

Boring show.

I honestly give up on Disney Star Wars products, since Star Wars Episode 8 The Last Jedi. I can talk all day about the Star Wars Legends lore, or Star Wars KOTOR 1/2 games, but the new Star Wars Disney canon doesn't interest me one bit. Ps. Maybe if they would make 1 to 1 adaptation tv show based on history of Cade Skywalker from comic books I could return and watch it.

I think this channel should stay focused on video games, we've got plenty of people already to cover the latest Disney... Offerings.

I think its slow and boring so far. Typical Disney. They shouldve built a story before killing the Jedi off so quickly. Especially Kari Ann Moss. Love her acting. The part with the dagger was stupid. Personally I dont like the characters' looks or motives so far. It just feels empty and boring. I persoanlly dont see whay everhone likes just thay they like it. I like to have my brain on especially with a company such as Disney who has been falling short. I dont like the bidget is double Obi-Wan. Thats preposterous imo. The disrespect to Lucas' vision is just so apparent. And the South Park memes are alive in this one for sure. Lol

Like always, too early to tell. It has a nice "Whodunnit" vibe to it. Sol is cool, and axing Moss in the first 10 minutes is shocking but bold, implying that no one is 'safe'.

Having fun so far

Went in with low expectations and now I’m optimistic after the first 2. It feels surreal to finally be outside of the Skywalker timeline! The meditating Jedi master made me think of the force shield/force barrier powers from kotor, and I’m glad that the main creator, Leslie, has acknowledged Kotor since it’s my favorite part of Star Wars. I don’t have a strong preference on your review style, but I do enjoy hearing your thoughts on particular scenes personally

I went to watch Acolyte without knowing anything & so far it’s interesting, different and also kinda boring but it’s still something new and interesting

I thought the first episode was very reminiscent of the original trilogy in style, second episode didn’t disappoint either. Loved it (been a Star Wars fan since 1977).

Im kinda dissapointed by the tone of the show and the cinematography. When it was first announced i imagined something way different. It could even have had the potential to be the first R rated star wars show/project.

There is pressure from the fandom for creators such as yourself to be as critical as possible for the Acolyte. As much as critique is well deserved it’s also important to praise positives as well. We can agree to disagree but this channel is legit and you show that you’re not afraid to call something good or bad even when the overwhelming majority go the other way.

I went in with quite low expectations, and ended up somewhat pleasantly surprised. The marketing made me believe this show would've been awful, but it wasn't. I also decided that if Jedi Master Trinity didn't make it out of the first episode that I'd stop watching, and she was killed off so quickly that I kept watching not sure of how I should take it. In the end I'm glad I stuck with it and will keep watching for the time being. So to conclude, like Allen from Generation Tech, I'm sort of cautiously optimistic for this show. For the time being it's better than the Kenobi and Fett show. Maybe that's why, Kenobi and Fett were legacy characters the writers didn't understand. Here we only have new characters with whom the writers can do whatever they want without risking character assassination. Anyways, I'm also glad to see level headed people who also give the show a chance and didn't immediately throw it in the bin. Cheers from France! 🍻

The basic story with Mae feels very similar to Meetra Surik's quest in Kotor 2 particularly the darkside path where you systematically kill all the jedi masters that wronged her. I love it. Also that Selkath cameo was so cool.

Hold up! That actor doesn’t speak english!? What the hell thats actually crazy! I couldn’t tell at all! Dude must have been exhausted after every shoot.

I think I'll wait until I've seen all of it before full judgement. I have been hearing some things about the show and it's creators that honestly feel made up. How the episodes ended really stuck out to me too. That opening fight though, I liked it but I was going: "Oh no, she doesn't know how to kill Jedi does she?" But she redeems herself in the end by attacking that bartender. She missed out on like 2 or 3 opportunities though.

I enjoyed it and only had three problems, two of which being nitpicks imo. Hopefully this show isn't bad, but even if I enjoy it, and think it's good, (and I already accepted that it will not be even close to Andor,) the people at the head will always leave it with a bad taste in my mouth at first, but I hope that as it goes on, it gets better, and I can separate the art from the artist. I already really like Sol and Osha, and some of the supporting cast is growing on my. I am glad they didn't linger on the twin mystery because it was pretty obvious imo and I am glad that them revealing the twins in the first episode allows for the show to actually focus on the story and characters instead of a pointless mystery. There is still some mystery, but it was given to us because of the reveal of the "twin twist not-mystery."

I was slightly pleased with it. Certainly wouldn't call it great, but a step up from other recent content. 6.8/10 premiere for me. I'd like to hear you talk about Star Wars as much as possible so I vote for longer reviews! Love hearing your analysis on the universe we love.

You’ve no idea how refreshing this video is for me. I’ve been looking at so much BS on social media. Pathetic squabbling over “woke” this and “the message” that. Not to mention outright racism and sexism. You can tell hardly any of them have actually watched it. So thanks for this genuine analysis, and for the positivity. Because I love it too, I hope Disney do more of this - content set outside of the Skywalker saga. It gives them the space to do their own thing, so they’re not beholden to certain expectations. Personally I’m loving Sol and Yord. Sol is like a proto Qui Gon and Yord a proto Obi Wan. Btw, your point about Indara being killed in the first few min - looking at the trailers, I think there’s going to be flashbacks. So we should see more of her.

Very much prefer the in-depth, week by week videos, your insights are always astute, honest, and well-informed, so the more of that, the better.

While I don't like everything they have done with the High Republic, but I think it shows how bad the Jedi are at being Jedi at this time in history. Also, as a ship nerd, I loved having new ships. Its refreshing it isn't some recycled designs. At least so far.

I was looking to see if the show is worth watching. I think the way you structured this initial video helped convince me to give it a chance. Though as I watch the show with you, I’d probably like to hear you talk about specific scenes

"Attack me Jedi,with all your strength" + creepy pose...sorry but so far its garbage not SW,only Squid Game actor seems to try to show some real act in this show,others so meh...

Correct me if I’m wrong but isnt Osha a failed Padawan?

Tbh, I didn't hate the show as much as i thought i would, but the dialog between the jedi Knight and his padawan just seems like it's reaching into a political spout with men and women and it kinda of takes me out a bit. I'm not saying women can't be smarter or more cunning, but it seems like they just plopped a dumb man role. The scene with his shirt off was also just stupid to me

Every show with brand new characters needs build up. And people need to get a grip they wanted something outside the Skywalker saga and we got it. And I'm liking it so far it's my first introduction to the high Republic and master Sol is so far a good Jedi. 3000 BBY- 2000 BBY first golden age of the Jedi 500-32 BBY the golden age of the Jedi.

Man I'm so excited the show is good. Always seem to agree with your takes on most of these. I prefer the in depth scene by scene breakdowns but if it's easier and more preferred more compact that is also nice.

I’d say it’s good so far. But we’re only two episodes in. On a funny note; the Korriban Overseers and HK-47 would be rolling in their graves with what that Sith-like individual said... Jedi can be killed by steel and laser... Lol

I think its a bit too short, and the endings are very abrupt, but, and whilst i do have some caution on how this show can go, I'm really happy to see something from outside the Skywalker era, do you feel this show is better than some of the recent series like Mandalorian s3 and Obi Wan Kenobi I got to ask as an old republic and i assume Expanded universe fan, do you like the concept of the High Republic and its role in bridging the gap between the beginning of the prequel trilogy and coming out of the end of the Sith-Republic wars

The fight scenes rule and the story is intriguing. I'd say it's definitely worth a watch but I feel like I need more episodes to see how it lands. Liking this shorter analysis if it enables you to make more videos, but the in depth stuff is what brought me to this channel in first place. Both are good though

I love this show so far and it’s very intriguing to see where the plot will go next, reveal what the Jedi did to Mae as a child, and who is the Dark Side/Sith individual that is lurking in the background. Excited for what’s to come!

Man you're dead wrong on this one. The story is hillariously bad and the writing is poor af. All Leslye Headland has done is "Put a chick in it and make her gay and lame" Why would two twins who haven't seen eachother for 16 years have the same haircut? FIRE IN SPACE? A jedi master gets killed by a knife? Sneaking into a Jedi temple TWICE without being noticed? The whole thing when Mae challanges the Jedi "Attack with all your force" is cringe as heck. The original Matrix triology is way better than this piece of crap, you have no right to compare that masterpiece to this crappy bugpile. I don't know how you can like this show, the story is awful, we don't care about these characters, its just woke BS wannabes directing SW and ruining GL's legacy.

Its good so far but I guess some reviewers are two episodes ahead and are trying to say the show looses all credibility in ep3. Its possible this is true but it also could just be those people are banking on this being a failure because they shit on the marketing so much.

Since you asked ... Personaly i preffer deep analysis scene-by-scene. As for the show itself: It feels like they are holding back a lot ... and i apreciate it! So far this feels like first show where (at least for now) im not affraid that in next episode will come some HUUUUUUGE EPIC climax, that will make no sense in wider story. That alone is great and worth praising, since Star Wars needed some smaller story that isnt about saving whole galaxy from 468th Death Star. :3 As for those dialogues ... i dont think this is so easy. Some of them are top, that much is quite true ... but others are so weird, it shoots the whole mood in the leg. :( For example, when Jecki is reading to Osha her background ... who does that? I know that we need to learn who she was, but couldnt that be done more naturaly by some flashback, or at very least in dialogue? Also, it makes her character acting a bit like an b****h ... shoving like this into someone face his trauma, not cool ... especialy not for a Jedi. :-/ Also ... basicaly all Yord says feels extremely forced ... i know and understands that he is supposed to be this tight and all about rules ... but so was Mace Windu, Ki-Adi-Mundi, or Bastila ... and neither of them ever felt like this one. :-/ Jedi feels really weird in this show tho ... Padawan talks to her master as if she was lecturing him ... and is lectured right back (wich was great from Sol) ... yet afterwards she feels the urge to ask permition to speek freely ... why didnt she feel the need before? Is reciting the code to tell your MASTER what they should do okey ... but telling them what do you think is not? If feels weird. The whole thing about asking for permition to SPEAK FREELY seems weird in order that was allways presented as Historians, Peacekeepers and most of all Phylosophers ... seems like Jedi in this show will be much more militant that we know ... and that leads me to my bigest problem: 100y is simply not enough. 😕 This show either needed stronger separation from original trillogy, or they needed to respect original material more ... if what they want was to present to us widely different order, the order needs enough time to naturaly (de)elvolve into what we know and love. :(

Much better than Ashoka... but nowhere near Andor. Even so that's a good thing. Really hope they don't overly retcon Plagueis though...

At $ 15 an episode, you’d think that Star Wars live action show could give us more than just 30 minutes of show and often half of that in story an episode. Don’t get me wrong, the Acolyte made pretty good use of that runtime with its first to episodes, but seeing what they did with Ahsoka which basically was a 3 episodes of the Clone Wars stretched out to 8 episodes, has me worried that we might have already got half of the story.

My real two gripes so far that are not mentioned are the background jedi being useless (especially the jedi outpost ones), and the Jedi robes (here me out here: it's the zenith of the high republic, they should be ornate for knights, masters and higher). I do love Sol and Osha, and the fights, and the cinematography I concur is bad. And that Selkath cameo ❤

The dialogue is a little wooden.

Honestly I can’t think of a Star Wars show I’ve enjoyed this much from the first two episodes! Now there’s a lot to go and I just hope they deliver with each single episode. If one bombs the whole show could go with it

Respectfully, the copium is strong with this one. It’s awful, the choreography is laughable, the writing is already brain numbing, and everything I’ve heard about the next two episodes sounds like it’ll do even more damage to Star Wars than TLJ.

honestly, so far I like it. Im only two episodes in but, it's not terrible. It has a lot of WOKE nonsense but, it's covered by a nice color of paint. I know it's there but, after focusing on the story it slips into the back of my mind. It is the one thing I wish they'd have left out of it. If you have to add all this woke bull crap then it usually isn't any good. But, like The Last of Us video game it had the right mix of great storytelling that I didn't even care about the woke agenda it has going on in the background. But, then TLoU part 2 ruined it completely for me. So, If the Acolyte wants to succeed then they need to let the story telling do the work not there political propaganda.

My opinion of the first two episodes is a bit more negative but i do agree that sol is an interesting character. But given who is behind the show i have a bad feeling it'll veer off track and get worse, hope im wrong though.

I really hope they'll go full on mystical and maybe even surprisingly Multiversal on this one. The ancient days of any Star Wars universe can be quite expanded upon by showing off elements like the Celestials, Bedlam Spirits, and maybe even all too successful undercover Multiversal operatives gaslighting as otherwise familiar, if otherworldly aloof, denizens of the galaxy. Still, got no plans to watch the show. X-Men: The Animated Series/Spider-Man: The Animated Series (watching these before I can fully catch up with X-Men '97), Justice League Unlimited, Ojamajo Doremi Sharp, GaoGaiGar, and Metal Armor Dragonar still occupy me as of this writing.

Watching most of the review, now I want to watch this series. Sounds pretty cool. Finally, it’s not in the Episodes 1-6 (mostly post 6) era. I want Disney’s Old Republic or New Republic stories.

I enjoyed it. I admit I was looking forward to this anyway, mainly because I've been enjoying the High Republic and yeah, it paid off for me. Can't wait for episode 3 :)

I don't get why that show got so much hate tbh. It's very strange. Of course it has some problems and the 3rd episode was much worse than the previous ones in my opinion (as they showed us the story that we already could know from the last 2 episodes). But cmon so far it's certainly better than kenobi, book of boba fett or the last episodes of ahsoka (it disappoints me even today). First 2 episodes of andor for me weren't as engaging either and in the end we got the best show so far there.

I just hope they don’t victimize the villain let them stay evil also I feel like the dark sider with the red lightsaber feels like a rogue Sith apprentice or the actual acolyte going against the rule of two rushing the plan because Mae is sloppy doing things in secret. As the trinity character she got wasted people saying she going be flashbacks but it just proves she more important being a memory instead of being actual there funny how Disney saying knife is fatal stab in the chest while lightsaber isn’t I just find it jarring. I’m not fan of the whole martial art scenes more of a fan of sword fighting. I know what they are going for but it seems stupid for a Jedi not using their lightsabers when an assassin coming to kill them and in danger the innocents in the process.
