Yeah & not far ahead. Ah i hope that Live Act Star Wars creators try to stick with this quality with almost every Lightsaber / Vibroblades combat scenes 🤞 Sure not everything have to because some characters just aren't as talented via storyline 🙂 For example a uncertain Jedi who stumbles into a big combat field first time & don't have backup 🤔 So look forward to streaming S01E06 via D+ & enter into Galaxy Far, Far Away 🙂 I'll restream S01E05 late this evening, but i'll skip those you know 2x moments. - Jecki you fought like a champ, Yord you had clever move when blocked with helmet..-

Great review! I actually DO think Osha was brainwashed by the Jedi, KOTOR style. It would explain a lot of things: The flashback being a false memory from Osha, SOME of Mae's inconsistencies (if the Jedi changed Osha's mind to make Mae seen worse than she actually is), the reason why Torbin, Kelnacca and Sol felt guilty over what happened in the past... And the foreshadowing by Qimir a few episodes ago when he said "don't do that Jedi memory wipe thing on me".

My theory is that Qimir is not a sith lord...... just ' using ' the name...... I came to that conclusion because there are 2 possiblities..... either he's a real sith lord , either he's not.... If he was a real one, in his vanity and ego he would have responded Darth something to Sol...... instead he just says sith...... for whatever reason, Qumir chose to reveal himself and confronts the Jedi.... if he was really a sith, he would have used Darth...... The sith and their history have dissapeared for almost a millenia..... only a select few jedis over the centuries would have all-knowledge of the sith.... the moniker Darth is known only to a few Jedi masters, most likely..... Qimir is probably a rogue Jedi, turned to the dark side..... since the sith are ' extinct ' ..... he probably decided to ressurect the order and claimimg himself a sith..... who would know...... Imo, it will be clearly established before the end of the show...... when Qimir will be probably killed by a real sith lord...... experiencing the true power of the dark side..... by either Tenebrous or Plaguies...

@@jetlorider I think the most likely conclusion is that he's been trained by either Tenebrous or Plaguies....... but he's not a sith...... since there can be only two...... but rather one of the many acolyte, inquisitor, agent or whatever...... working for the sith to further their powers...... thus saying he has no name..... surely secretly hoping to become a sith lord...... Of course, Qimir's master will eventually wants to kil him...... once he will have served his purpose..... but Qimir will escape death ..... probably deeply injured....... having grunge against the sith, he will seek revenge one day..... by creating its own order..... the knights of Ren..... That would make sense and tie-in the storyline plots to respect lore and canon....... imo.

Kylo Ren's theme plays at several parts throughout the episode, not just the end. It also plays in the very beginning and during some of the fight scenes. The exact conversation between Sol and Qimir is: "What are you?" "I have no name. A *Jedi like you* might call me... Sith." ... "Why risk exposure? What do you want?" "Freedom... to use my powers as I see fit, without the Jedi telling me I cannot exist."

This episode was definitely a step up from the previous two and I think it needed it. It’s still not perfect, it feels way too small and almost claustrophobic with the sets. The sets still look pretty cheap to me, certainly not for a show with that kind of budget. House of the Dragon still reigns supreme in terms of overall quality (dare I say that the Acolyte is less of a threat to HOTD season 2 than the Rings of Power was to HOTD season 1). But it’s Star Wars, I enjoyed it despite its flaws. Plus we’ve got three episodes left to see how this all comes to a hopefully satisfying end. The choreography was great, far better than what we got with the sequel trilogy. But is it me or do all of the lightsaber hilts look like really chunky torches (flashlights) from a DIY store? I’ve yet to see an elegant looking lightsaber in this series.

The lightsaber fight was proably the best, we've seen in life action in the Disney Era. However, the story and characters are still lacking so much, imo. Why did the Sith fight the Jedi, when he could have killed Mae much earlier? What's up with Mae changing objectives for the third time? How is it possible, that none of this reaches the Jedi Council? I mean, other Jedi and Ki-Adi-Mundi knew that they went there. Also, why isn't Sol capable of sensing Oshas presence, when he identified the Siths presence from presumably 16 years ago? Honestly, I was looking foward to the series, however I find the writing to be so underdeveloped, that I don't get any enjoyment out of the show, except for the fights and maybe the Sith.

One thing that’s interesting from a bigger perspective is that it shows how, even one hundred years before the rise of Palpatine, the Jedi were already ill equipped to face dark side users. All those promising Jedi were cut down in moments. Even a master like Sol gave in to his darker instincts for a moment. And we already know that the Order as a whole is more concerned with its position within the Republic rather than defending the light. The High Republic’s motto “for light and life” is long gone here. No wonder Palpatine made it look so damn easy.

To be honest, I really like how the actor played “The Stranger” once the mask was off. Imo he became the only bright spot in the show. But, really, so much better? The writing continues to be abysmal. Personally, it takes more than some lightsabers, and some (admittedly) cool moves to win me over. What else did we get? A “reveal” that was previously so obvious that a lot of people thought he had to be a red herring. Remember the end of last episode when Smilo force pushed like 9 Jedi? Apparently, not one of them as they were outnumbering him, yet getting mowed down, ever thought to actually use their force abilities. One of the thrilling aspects of a Sith vs. Jedi fight is that we know both combatants have access to force abilities, and so do they. How will they use them, how will they counter them? Well, in this show the answer is: the Jedi, even when they have there opponent outnumbered, won’t even use them. What else? Trees clearly falling the wrong way. A Padawan does far better than Knights (in a group). And I’m sorry, but I know the metal that disables lightsabers is a EU thing, and I do think it’s pretty cool. BUT, most people don’t know anything about the EU and that makes it all seem silly. Plus, it should have implications for everything in the future of Star Wars (and in this case, that’s everything else previously made). We also got the forced “you’d call me Sith” line. They might as well have had him look into the camera and laugh evilly while he said it. It’s a shame. He is an awesome character and actor that deserves a far better show. Let’s see, Mae switches places with OSHA. And I guess it’s in keeping with the rest of the show that Master (Master, mind you) Sol can’t sense the deception, because as previously stated, the Jedi just don’t seem to have established abilities in this show. Remember when Qui-Gon sensed “a great deal of fear and anxiety” on the Trade Federation ship? He wasn’t even near who he was sensing it from. Remember when Vader sensed Obi-Wan on the Death Star? Remember how Luke sensed his friends where in trouble on a completely different planet? Remember how Vader pulled from Luke’s thoughts that he had a sister? Both Sol and Smilo are going to be fooled by this switch-a-roo, I guess. Oh, and the moth creatures being attracted to light? I guess all the lightsabers flying around and bashing together for 15 minutes didn’t count as lights. Only when the plot needed them to. I mean no disrespect. We all love Star Wars. I just wish some fans had higher standards and weren’t so easily impressed. Star Wars used to be better than this. It never will be again if fans accept garbage as a substitute.

the algorithm brought me here to try to change my mind, but i'll leave a comment on the off-chance that someone out there needs to know at least one other person agrees: this show is just the newest capstone of Disney Lucasfilm's inability to do anything correctly. everything they've done since inking the deal with George has been an unending cascade of failure, disaster, and catastrophe. this show just turned the franchise from slumping IP to ultimate international laughingstock. i seriously haven't laughed this hard since i watched a pirated copy of TLJ. this show is complete garbage, through and through. i actually made the mistake of thinking they couldn't do Star Wars any dirtier . . . i was so, SO wrong. Star Wars -- once the greatest franchise in history, now being told by people who can't maintain narrative consistency within their own half-hour episodes . . . . . the fruit-fly frame of mind is strong with these ones!

Okay. Yes. You guys win. You were right that doofus guy was the guy behind the mask. I still stand by the idea that the other mother will be back. Point 1: you never saw her body. Only the other mother. Point 2: It might have sounded like a throw away line, but at some point in the episode, one of the characters says, "my mother could get into the heads of jedi." Isn't that foreshadowing enough that she is still around, doing some really evil dark force stuff?

Its interesting too to think that most of these jedi aren't even trained for lightsaber dueling or all that powerful in the force given the era and how little strife they've had to deal with. Prequel era jedi were a bit more hardened even before the clone wars than these high republic era jedi. While I've got my gripe about this show, this was some solid combat; I certainly wouldn't rank it as phantom menace level good, but its still very well done. My only real critique is the Sith should've kited his multiple opponents a little more to help avoid the awkwardness of having numerically superior foes just dancing around him like extras in an old martial arts movie waiting their turn to attack rather than just rushing him at once. The main bad part of the fight was the flying bugs carrying the Sith away, that was just silly.

The fights were awesome, but I was constantly going "oh come one first jammed blasters, now short circuiting lightsabers c'mon!" If they actually found a clever way to explain the metal does that, that would have actually been really cool. Don't like when a defense for something is basically "well actually..." It should be established in the show. Besides that I did enjoy the episode a lot and Loved Darth Dentist's aggression. Previous couldn't stand Quirmir and wasn't looking forward to him being the Sith, but after Episode 5, I think he's pretty cool.

Do you think it would've made the episode better if he stopped to explain that his armour is lightsaber resistant? I think visual storytelling works in this instance.
@shinymk6562
@shinymk6562 3 месяца назад
@@100StarWars Well think of it from this angle: As someone who doesn't know what the properties of the metal are, how obvious is it that it is deactivating the lightsaber. For me at least, given how fast paced these fights are, it didn't even register as a possibility. I thought he simply slashed their sabers with his blade, so when they reignited I was very confused and it felt convenient. Visual storytelling works when it is clear, but in a dark fast paced fight, it is hard to understand what is going on. It might have been clunky, but even a throwaway line from OSHA like "how's he deactivating your lightsabers?" While her and Yord were fleeing could have worked. She was a former Jedi yesz but she also left the order pretty young so it makes sense she wouldn't know everything lightsaber related while Yord, a knight, would. Think it could have helped the episode.

This episode was good, really interesting , it provokes a bit of thought from me actually.....However I still feel even with this episode that this series and even the emergence of this 'Sith' it lacks a strong premise....I think Sith i think Marka Ragnos deep rooted prowess , this dude seemed like a stoner with no back story...I just hope they explain how he got his training, where he comes from, if they don't then that will be disappointing.

The lightsaber battles were good and probably the best live action saber fights disney star wars has produced but the dialogue is atrocious and the plot is really stale. If you hold this episode up to any scrutiny it was objectively bad.

@@100StarWars Dangerous, but certainly not impossible to do. People who do critiques on the scale of HOURS for a living have convinced me of that. Also to add onto the Phantom Menace... Probably extend this to the entire prequel trilogy: I think I'd need to re-examine the films myself. I'd probably say the films are more so hit or miss on the quality. It's why so many people have a love hate relationship with them.

This is the episode that finally lost me. I don’t like how how this “sith” was able to overpower that number of Jedi out of nowhere. I don’t like how the sisters are being portrayed. I don’t like how Sol somehow doesn’t sense he’s been hornswaggled. I don’t like how they’re recycling dialogue and tropes with poor execution. It just doesn’t hit and does more harm than good imo.

@@100StarWars I guess I just don’t seem him as a sith “lord” in the ways I see someone like Revan or Palpatine. What I’m trying to get at is he just seems to be too powerful for being a “nobody” in my view.
