A REAL SUFI DOES NOT SAY THIS. IF YOU STUDY COMPREHENSIVELY ,YOU WILL KNOW THAT THERE IS A LOT OF BOOKS THAT ARE WRITTEN BY MULIMS' SUFIS. FOR EXAMPLE: THE BOOKS OF HAZRAT ABDUL QADIR JILANI R.A HAZRAT USMAN BIN ALI HAJWERI R.A HAZRAT SULTAN BAHO R.A HAZRAT SHEIKH FARRIDUN ATAR R.A... Not every sifism is same... every group have some sort of extreme through out the world.. sufism in Arab might be different than those in Pakistan (just an example), and he did say there are good ones... the problem is where ever we find faults, we keep labeling them into sects, and this is why too many sects in Islam... all muslims should be under one banner as Qur'an tells us to do, but we human beings makes things difficult for fellow human beings by categorizing into groups, eg look at the comments, u will find they are salafis wahabis n this n that, but does any any salafi would say im from salafi sects??? No. Its always others putting that label. And if someone tries to label themselves and thinks they're only on the right path and rest r misguided, then this is out of arrogance. ... hope everyone gets true teachings of Islam

Meanwhile my "sufi" sheikh spent more than half of his life studying islam (fiqh, and hadith etc. in Egypt. The big islamic university where you get doctorates in islamic studies. Our tariqa is based on Istighfar, salat un-nabi, and Laa ilaha ilallah. All of which can be found in Qur'an. You can't be on my Tariqa without the 5 pillars.

I think one scholar said that a real sufi never calls himself Sufi. And there are really different kinds of sufies especially in older times in places like Morocco etc.

I Agree ,there are sufi muslims Who are Upon sunnah and dont make any bidah. The problem Is not with the sufi ( Who actually did and do good a lot ) but we the concept of tariqa itself. There Is no elitarian association ,in islam. Tariqa concept remind me the masonery ,not the religion of ALLAH SWT.

You misrepresent Sufism. Sufism teaches surrender to Allah. The Great Jihad is the inner struggle with the personal ego/nafs, which stands between us and Allah.

Alec Bruyns The best of Muslims are the the Prophet Muhammad SAW with his companions. If I may ask, which of them is Sufi? The prophet SAW has related to us a complete Deen before his death. Anything that was not part of the Deen then can never be part of the Deen now. Some individuals (like Ahmada Tijani) would claim they received more revelations from the prophet in their dreams. May Allah guide us

@@kamalmahmood406 Mohammed himself SAW stated that the inner struggle is greater than the outer struggle, and that every man has his own religion. This means that each has his own understanding, according to his or her development. Those who would permit no questioning of the teachings hold only the form of Islam. The same is true of every religion. Only by questioning can one, by the grace of God, grow in this understanding of the heart of the religion.

All the great scholars of islam were sufis. Sufis have the most knowledge and they’re the closest to Allah. They’re the true muslims full of peace and love just like prophet muhammad the exact opposite of salafis/wahabis

Sarah Umayyad Jihad is explicitly in defense of Islam and your home. Know that in the Quran Allah says that he DISLIKES aggressors. [5:87] O you who believe, do not prohibit good things that are made lawful by GOD, and do not aggress; GOD dislikes the aggressors. [8:61] If they resort to peace, so shall you, and put your trust in GOD. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient. sufi has 2 meanings, one is Zhud in dunya or avoiding materialism another is Zuhud in ilm or avoiding knowledge & extreme taqlid. Type 1 is ok, but type 2 is local imams make up things instead of looking what Quran & Sunna interpreted by sahabas said but later imams, its wrong & how the umma divivded!

Some Sufi have bad beliefs like saying Allah is everywhere like bathrooms etc. when Allah's above His Throne separate from creation. His Attributes encompass creation in Quran 20 :5 & 46! Perhaps there may be some elements of Sufism that can amount to bidah, but I don't believe that sufism as a broad subject would entail anything that is directly against the Qur'an and sunnah. A mainstream Muslim can still greatly benefit from sufi elements to enhance their Ihsan and increase taqwa. We should not be so quick to judge and "otherise" groups, it's dangerous and leads to further division in this already broken ummah.

Sufism is Tasawuf. Tasawuf is part of Islam. It's one of the way to purification your soul. Sufism usually continuously do the dhikr wherever they are to remembrance Allah and do salawat to the Messenger of Allah as a form of love for him. a Sufi continuously reads the Qur'an after prayer. From sufism i learn and i do a lot of sunnah worship of course after the obligatory worship. I continuing doing tahajjud in the mid of night as my Sunnah worship that should be practiced. Fasting is a Sufi's way to get closer to God. So a Sufi will usually often do sunnah fasting. a Sufi should also not pursue worldliness too much and live a simple life. a Sufi does not consider praying for someone over the grave of a dead person as worship. but as a form of visiting (ziarah) the dead. Things that are always labeled as bid'ah by the pseudo-salafis. In other words, I like Sufism as a way to get closer to God. a Sufi is not a monk confined to their monastery. but they have a teacher (sheikh) and an organization (tariqa) ​​that becomes their circle. a Sufi can be a public figure that wear expensive clothes like a tuxedo. or it could be a beggar with ragged clothes. because the most important thing is to integrate and socialize with the surrounding community. It's not always ascetic in the mountains like a Buddhist monk. And the most important thing is that God judges people by what is in their hearts rather than what is seen on the outside. In the early, Sheikh Abdur-Raheem Green said about the *_WRONG_* Sufism . The one who is *_EXTREMIST_* Sufi. There is also Sufi Sunni. Sheikh did say find the middle part. Other term for Sufi is Tasawwuf

No such thing as a Wahhabi.... thats just a derogative term to address some Sunnis. Sufis or Tasawwuf is bidah nonsense so just stop The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) told us that: “Every innovation is going astray, and every going astray will be in the Fire.” Narrated by Muslim (867) and an-Nasaa’i (1578) .

It's just a derogatory term, an empty label that no one subscribes to; it's in a way when someone has no response against your arguments and resorts calling you names instead. It's also like a softer way doing takfir by excluding someone from the fold of islam by giving them a different, exclusive and derogatory label. Cowardice at its finest. Sufism appeals to narcissists just like the cults that give a sense of grandiosity. Basic psychology.

Yes I absolutely agree. The thing is, some things we can't know in terms of how we think we know things. For example I know that the mountains are beautiful innately but cant know why. Similar is with love. And the alchemy of happiness by imam ghazali really explains alot

It is not right that Sufism is blamed squarely by Sh Abdur Rahim which, reflects more like a Salafi statement. No offence to any section of the Ummah, but it is well known, Salafis are well known for extreme views. Real Sufis do not get involved in ‘fitna’ or divisions and dissensions. I am disappointed that Sh Abdur Raheem has taken this outrightly dismissing stance about Sufism. To understand Sufism, Imam Al Gazali’s ‘Yahya Urumqi Ad Deen’ should be studied and understood.

I think this scholar should increase his knowledge of Sufism. In fact, Sufis are not just random ignorant. They are indeed scholars. Just look at the story of Prophet Musa (Alaihis Salam) and Kidr which comes in Qur'an chapter 18. Prophet Musa (Alaihis Salam) was one of the five Ulul-Azm (the five best prophets), yet Allah commanded him to go and learn from someone who was not a prophet, whose source of knowledge was not from books but from experience with Allah. Also, take the account of Uwais Al-Qarni who was not even a sahabi, yet the Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him asked some of the sahaba to ask him to pray for them when they meed him. All these were Sufis and there are a lot of other accounts and examples of Sufis contributing greatly to Islam.

Does he even know how many people came to islam trough sufism. Trough sheik Nazim al hakkani. So ignorant of him he doesn't even know basic history of islam. All the greatest islamic scholars all the ottoman Emperors were sufis. Sufism is the soul of islam. Please take whatever you can from every Scholar you listen too. Every sheikh has their own opinions which aren’t wrong but just hard to understand. Dhikir is the single most important way to earn الله love. So many people don’t pray salah & learn Quran b/c they’re not taught the most connective way to get close to الله.

Haqq Dhikr Allah is mentioned more than Salah in the Quran, Al hamdulillah for my sheikh of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jammah a sufi of the Naqshbandiyah and a follower of quran and Sunnah and no bid’ah.

That's absolutely not in agreement with what the Qur'an teaches us, namely to supplicate only to Allah (Al-Fatihah). OK, moving on to my question. You said the Qur'an is easy to understand and therefore, everyone can understand it, right? Tell me the interpretation of the following verse from the Qur'an and then tell me if you don't find that the Qur'an is metaphorical or symbolic. If you think anyone can understand what's written in this verse, I will agree that the Qur'an, in its entirety, is simple and easy to understand. The verse is: 'Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His Light is like a niche within which is a lamp; the lamp is within a glass; the glass as if it were a pearly (white) star lit from (the oil of) a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for people, and Allah is Knowing of all things. (Surah Nur 24:35) Still think the Qur'an is easy to understand for everyone and we don't need tafsirs from scholars to explain certain symbolic passages?

Then one of them said, "I will offer the prayer throughout the night forever." The other said, "I will fast throughout the year and will not break my fast." The third said, "I will keep away from the women and will not marry forever." Allah's Apostle came to them and said, "Are you the same people who said so-and-so? By Allah, I am more submissive to Allah and more afraid of Him than you; yet I fast and break my fast, I do sleep and I also marry women. [Kashf al-Khafa, 'Ajluni, vol. 1, p 341.] Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal: "O my son, you have to sit with the People of Sufism, because they are like a fountain of knowledge and they keep the Remembrance of Allah in their hearts. they are the ascetics and they have the most spiritual power." Hmmm, something is WRONG here...Sufi who falls for such twisted traditions should ask: What tareeqa did Jafar Al-Sadiq follow? Who is his shaikh? What is thename of the Tareeqa Jafar Al-Sadiq formed? There are no answersfor any of those questions which forms a barrier between Imam jafar al-Sadiq and the claim that he was a Sufi. Actually, in the SufiLand of Wonders, all scholars happen to be Sufis, even the mostnotorious critics of Sufism like Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal and ibnTaymiyya. Creepy duniya😰

And Imam Jaffar as sadique Ahleisalaam followed Imam e Azam Abu hanifa Radiallahu anhu in Fiqh. This is simply because the Holy prophet Sayyiduna Muhammadﷺ spoke about Imam e Azam Abu hanifa in hadith before hand. Hadith below: Narrated by Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah (Radi Allahu anhu) : RasoolAllahﷺ said, “Even if the Deen would be on Surayya, then a person from among the Persians would get it from there.” (Sahih Muslim 4/1972, #2546) Hadith ‏ Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: If the din were at the Pleiades, even then a person from Persia would have taken hold of it, or one amongst the Persian descent would have surely found it. Sahih Muslim 2546 a In-book : Book 44, Hadith 326 USC-MSA web (English) : Book 31, Hadith 6177 (deprecated) Imaam Jalal-ud-din Suyuti (rah) who is renowned to be Mujaddad of 9th century remarked about this hadith : “In this hadith, RasoolAllahﷺ has given glad tidings about Imaam Abu Hanifa.” Tabiyiz As-Saheefa bi Manaaqib Abi Hanifa, p.32 Khayraat Al-Hisaan : Allama Ibn Hajar Makki, p.24 This should be enough for you and for me

First of all there is a lack of knowledge for the majority of muslims. They cannot defer between the different Ulema. The trap of the mind is to divide. I'm right, you are wrong. My Sheikh said so and so etc. Islam seems to be simple, follow the Qur'an and Sunna, but... There are so many scolars with different opinions. And also you have some cultural input. So there should be no separation between a muslim from Africa practising Maliki Madhab and an Indian muslim belonging to the Deobandi. For me the tariqah is a muslim way of tassawuf and striving to clean the heart, but this is not meant for everyone. Ana jalisu man dzakarani 🙏

I believe all the answers are within us. Our souls know the reason we were put on earth but living in a physical body we need some sort of physical text to guide us to remember. Asalaamualaikum hope you are all well - Rime No dear sister, our intellects lead us to the great signs of Allah, like u mention the Quran (the torah and gospels we have with us today on earth r distorted from original forms), and other miracles that were given to the Messenger ﷺ. However once we see the truth Alhamdulillah that is it from Allah, then we need to follow what is in the guidance; namely the Quran and Sunnah. Now comes the question how to interpret them? We look to the Quran and Sunnah, and we see the hadith “Upon you is my Sunnah, and the Sunnah of the Rightly guided caliphs after me” (authentic). Many other ayaat, like surah 9 ayah 100, surah 4 ayah 115. And ither narrations. So we take it upon yhe methodology, the creed (aqeedah), and understanding of these noble men and women, may Allah be pleased w them. Your heart is control your intellectual. Without divine love in the heart , for Allah, Rasul, his Angels, Sahaba, Suhada (matryar), we get lost within our-selves. With proper science of Sunnah of Mohammad SAW and the glorious book are one can avoid Bidah, all things start with Adab (characteristic and Zikr (rememberance of Allah), with that in the practice Allah and his Rasool will open our heart and mind (knowledge of truth) . Without angelic heart or purifying heart, we commit sin, think incorrect, etc that fuel our soul with fire, with proper Zikr and Adab you and I can see what exactly is Sunnah, Quran and sufiism. It's true that Sufism was there before the birth of Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) & Even now sufism is right there in almost all religions of the world. Indeed it's a parallel religion with different religions. Sufism however has to do nothing with Islam, at least the Islam taught by Quran & Sunnah of prophet (P.B.U.H). It's only derailed people who wrongly associate with Islam.

Arrogance and grandiosity. Sufism appeals to narcissists. This is a prime example. This person thinks he's the all wise, all knowing being, maybe even a demi god or at least shares some of gods attributes astghfirullah. Uses the words "WISDOM", "qualified", "Masters"... reveals a lot of insecurity and has a sense of entitlement created by his ego to hide said deep insecurities. There are psychological studies about this kind of sects and cults that fit Sufism perfectly.

The understanding as well as the practice of tasawwuf also has degenerated in more dimensions than one. Also its name has been misused for certain wrong notions and ideas in certain quarters. In spite of that, however, the denial to the Islamic religious quest of its rightful place amounts to the very negation of Islam. Also, interpreting tasawwuf in terms of the forms of mysticism projected by other religions or saying that tasawwuf is not based on knowledge is a flagrant violation of truth.

Its really not that hard. if you want a guide to know whether you are following Islam correctly, ask yourself these questions whenever you do anything related to the religion: Did the Prophet do this? Did the Sahaba do this? Did the generation After the Sahaba do this? If your answer is no, then leave it and go back to the beginning starting with the Prophet.

What I know, sufisme is the straight path of Islam by following the footprint of Rasulullah in worship to Allah SWT. The core of sufisme value of practice is the true tauhid by throwing out every aspect of 'shirik' inside us, to get total meaning of 'kalimah syahadah', to build up the true value of relationship with our creator Allah SWT in our heart and soul that could progressively turn our behaviour into a better muslim and better servant without any contradicting to Alquran and sunnah tought. This is the practical way of struggling to clean our heart inside out by worship and pray harder in order to defeat the shirk, our nafs and all bad thing inside us with knowledge by the bless of Allah thru mystical experiences along the way. The most important that concerned is to become a better person near to Allah, obeying all HIS commands in every aspect of life. As for example of what the sufis always practice, Sufi teaches the followers, ' if someone give you something, Do say THANKS to the person who gave you, and be thankful/syukr to Allah for HIS mercy and HIS generosity of what being given'. It will show that Allah is always in Sufi's heart in every situation, in every single aspect of routine life. Waulahua'lam.

sufi has 2 meanings, one is Zhud in dunya or avoiding materialism another is Zuhud in ilm or avoiding knowledge & extreme taqlid. Type 1 is ok, but type 2 is local imams make up things instead of looking what Quran & Sunna interpreted by sahabas said but later imams, its wrong & how the umma divivded!

Some Sufi have bad beliefs saying Allah is everywhere like bathrooms etc. when Allah's above His Throne separate from creation. His Attributes encompass creation in Quran 20:5, 46! Muslim (1162) narrated from Abu Qataadah al-Ansaari (رضي الله عنه) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked about fasting on Mondays and he said: “On (that day) I was born and on it Revelation came down to me.” Resul Allah ﷺ has spoken the Great Truth(Mawlid#)

Do not confuse yourself with day (Monday) and date. The mawlid celebration started hundreds of years after the death of Prophet Muhammad p.b.u.h. It was clearly an innovation in religion. Never it was celebrated during the lifetime of Hasan & Husein radhiallahu anhum.

Funny how he talks about knowledge, then says the companions of the prophet pbuh didn't dance... yeah they did actually in certain cases. They weren't all serious people. There was a companion who even did pranks. And when I first heard of this, I was shocked that this was never told to me before. Like it was some secret kept by the whole community of imams.... We need to keep an open mind about Islam through all of our lives, even about it's nature, not just about the information that we get.

@@peace2962 The prophet didn't use RU-vid to spread Islam nor discuss about it, what's your point? It is permissible to dance when you're very happy or celebrating something. I think being happy is one of the feelings being felt while doing dhikr. Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal in his Musnad writes: Ali said: I visited the Prophet with Ja`far (ibn Abi Talib and Zayd (ibn Haritha). The Prophet said to Zayd: 'You are my freedman' (anta mawlay), whereupon Zayd began to hop on one leg around the prophet (hajala). The Prophet then said to Ja`far: 'You resemble me in my creation and my manners' (anta ashbahta khalqi wa khuluqi), whereupon Ja`far began to hop behind Zayd. The Prophet then said to me: 'You pertain to me and I pertain to you' (anta minni wa ana minka) whereupon I began to hop behind Ja`far. Source: Ahmad, Musnad 1:108 (#860)

Sufism is full of knowledge and has always been full of wisdom , what I did not find appealing was your superficial criticism to the suffi way of expressing their love and ecstasy. Having to live in solitude away from the worldly material traps is hugely rewarded by allah subhanahu wa talaa.

Yep. Transcendental experience of God is present in many religions that predated Islam, especially in Eastern ones like Buddhism, Advaita Vedanta. Sufism is a distinctly Islamic iteration of mysticism. This guy is just ignorant. Humans have for thousands of years been able to transcend ordinary existence through meditation, which Sufis like myself do within the framework of Islam presented by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). We are not extremist, and honestly most Sufis practice differently since personal experience varies.

Sir - you really don't know what you are talking about. No Sufi ever dismisses the need for knowledge. It is critical for the development spiritually. And yes, they also look to experiential knowledge... because -- if you read the Qu'ran you'd know -- experiential knowledge is superior to knowledge by reading/studying. Veritas Hmm, let me see🤔 Bismillah The Sufis worship others than Allah, such as prophets and awliya (saints) living or dead. Am i right😬 They say, Ya Jelani, ya rifai (calling on their awliya) or oh messenger of Allah, help and save or O messenger of Allah, our dependence is on you, etc etc But Allah forbids us to call on anyone except Him in matters that are beyond the person's capabilities. If a person does this, Allah will count him as a mushrik, as Allah says: And invoke not, besides Allah, any that will neither profit you, nor hurt you, but if (in case) you did so, you shall certainly be one of the zalimon (polytheists and wrongdoers). The Sufis turn to other than Allah, like Rafidah, like christians, hindu etc then calamity strikes, but Allah says And if Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it but He, and if He touches you with good, then He is Able to do all things. Some sufis believe in wahdat wujod (unity of existence). They do not have the idea of a Creator and His creation, instead they say that everything is creation and everything is god, audubillah The sufis allow dancing, drums and musical instruments, and raising the voice when making dhikr, but Allah says The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their heart They even go to the extreme of saying, Ah, ah or Hu, Hu. What is this😂 The sufis claim to have gnosis and knowledge of the unseen, but the Quran shows them to be liars. Allah says Say: None in the heavens and the earth knows the ghayb (unseen) except Allah The sufis claim that they take knowledge directly from Allah, without the mediation of the prophet and in a conscious state (as opposed to dreams). So are they better than the Sahabah? Audubillah. Mawlid, travel to visit graves and seek blessings from their occupants or to make tawaf (ritual circumambulation) around them or to make sacrifices at these sites, all of which goes against the teachings of the prophet May Allah guide you and us.
