This is all I use now to wax my entire body! It’s less painful and I even have permanet hair loss in areas and because I stick to a routine I only have to do it once a month!
She said it's less painful. There is still pain, what do you expect, you're pulling your hair out, of course there is. There are Cremes you can put on half an hour before waxing so you don't feel anything, but I recommend the natural way as some might have side effects
The hardest part about sugar waxing is getting the right consistency. I always cook it too little or too much so I gave up on it. That aside, sugar waxing is much better for the environment and I honestly really like it. If I could buy pre made sugar wax it would be my go to.
i'm north african and here sugaring is all what we've been using for ages, my mom, grandmothers, great grandmothers, great great grandmothers, and it's still the only technique we still use till this time, even in modern life and with all different other tools and techniques it's the most effective one imo... it may be a little messy but only if you over heat it or keep it still in your palm or elsewhere during the removal, bc the mere fact that you keep it still ruins it, idk how to explain but you have to kinda play with it? throughout the hair removal session, kind of keep rolling over itself it and try to make it consistently in a round shape so it doesn't expand and melt, that's the trick, but only if you have a lot to remove, if you're going to do your armpits you just have to stretch it and use a cloth or something to remove it at once, hope this helps!
I think it's a palette knife if I recall they're for removing baked things like cakes or pies, it also perfectly scrapes the mixing bowl of leftover mix, as it's flexible.
Oh I love her channel. She actually teaches you how to make your own sugar at home. As well as body butters, organic scrubs, cuticle oils and so much more. A gem of a chanel truly.
There doesn't have to be constant crediting. He's not claiming this content as his own. He's simply reviewing it. Theres not need to give credit. People can search sugar waxing if they want. Credit isn't always needed. He has no obligation to bring traffic to her channel just bc hes reviewing her video. Also hes a dr so he has to be careful. If he sends people to her channel and she post something wrong or harmful then hes got a moral issue going on bc hes a professional that sent people there. His recommendations hold more weight than the average persons bc he is a dr and people will give more weight to his recommendations. He has a professional responsibility for what he post. He shouldn't give credit to random people on social media and send people to those channels bc when he does that his followers will assume anything that person post is correct info. Her getting credit for a video he reviewed isn't more important than that. Posting someone's page info is treated the same as recommending that page. He shouldn't be recommending people. Drs live by different ethical guidelines than the rest of us. Very strict guidelines. Don't expect him to start recommending channels and risking his reputation simply bc he reviewed info someone posted. You'll be disappointed. Hes not going risk his followers getting bad info off some influencer due to something he's posted bc it makes u feel better. If she's that great she doesn't need credit from him.

I used to shave and wax so much as a teenager and now I don’t even have to shave 😂 my hairs are so thin that I don’t ever notice it unless if I stare at it or feel my hairs when I take off my pants. And as I got older, my body hairs stopped bothering me because I only did it for others. I used to lie and say it was for myself.
It's better than wax. You pull it to the direction of the growth and not against it, so less ingrown hairs, and it usually hurts less when done correctly. Also cheap to make on your own.
I’m 21 now, used to do this all the time when I was 13-14. I could go weeks without waxing, sometimes months. The hair would take longer to grow back each time and would be thinner and thinner every time it grew. All I needed to do was go to the dollar store, get some lemon juice and sugar, and I could wax for half a year off of 2 bucks. $4 a year spent on hair removal?? Heck yeah! And I’m sure if I was consistent, I wouldn’t have any hair today lol. I’m definitely gonna go back to doing this. It’s time consuming and can be very messy though so I would always do it on an old towel or t-shirt. My hands would always be so sticky. But definitely worth it Edit: I wanna add that I do have some spots on my legs that no longer grow hair at all. And it’s been nearly a decade since I’ve done this. The only place I haven’t tried is my bikini area and face, but I have done this on my legs, arm pits, arms, even my chest and happy trail area! Oh, and my knuckles on my hands and feet. You can use this anywhere, I honestly think this is the best hair removal method ever. And there are 2 different types of waxes: sugar and honey. The sugar one you can use your hands, but you need to use cloth strips for the honey. I haven’t used the honey one but I’ll probably use that for my face and/or bikini area.
I spend extra money to go to a proper salon that does sugaring. It's great! Especially if you have super sensitive skin! Sugaring is waaaay better than regular waxing
I’ll keep this in mind. Genuine waxing seems too scary for me and too painful, and sugaring seems like something I could do (with a lot of careful experimentation) with my control :)
Another reason why I love sugaring is it doesn’t attach to the skin. It’s only attaching to the hair! Every other way attaches to the shin and that’s what causes the most pain
Yesss it is , A whole month without hair, smoothness, to remove dead skin, reduce pores, clear skin, and no hair under the skin, and this is the most important point
My mom only ever did homemade wax. I didn't know it was called sugaring but I can tell you it's edible and delicious off the spoon (basically just caramelized sugar with lemon juice)
Please give credit to the original creator in the video or a description. Thankfully people in the comments recognize this content, but it shouldn’t be our job to give proper credit
I finally broke down and got laser hair removal. No matter the method, I always got ingrown hairs from waxing and shaving. Zero regrets. Go to a professional!
I spent a fortune on laser and it has grown back now in my bikini area. Cannot re do as the hair is much lighter now. Won't work so am waxing etc again 😡
I'd love to hear from anyone with sensitive dry skin who has tried sugaring! Does it work well? Does it actually pick up all the hair with one application, or do you need to repeat it? (Wax never worked well for me, and also left me with swollen, painful rashes.) Would greatly appreciate some info!
I haven't tried this exact method, but I used a sugar wax with cotton strips and it was still pretty bad. Don't have a comparison to regular wax, but was really red with bleeding spots and took FOREVER to even get close to the point it could be pulled when put on. I will say when I managed to do it right it worked well. Pulling hair will always be pulling hair though
I have sensitive skin and go to a salon for my sugaring. The first time was definitely the worst in terms of pain afterwards ( I was tender about a day) but since sticking to it monthly it's been actually less traumatizing to my skin than shaving with no itching, redness or bumps! Had a terrible experience with waxing so was very hesitant with sugaring but so glad I've tried it. My salon also offers a mud mask after your sugaring that helps prevent ingrown hairs and soothes the skin. Definitely would recommend it if waxing wasn't good and shaving is getting too much of a chore. Added bonus the hair grows back softer and thinner when you stay on a 4-5 week schedule.
Have only sugared for ~4 months, but in my experience it does a good job getting all the hair out in one application (might leave a hair or two which you can pluck with a tweezer anyway). You also don't have to use a lot for an entire leg, which is great. The only drawback is that you have to do it in a cold room as it can get too runny when warm (which can result to pulling it the wrong way and you can end up with tiny bruises). The first time is always painful, but now it doesn't hurt anymore for me even "down there." I use a damp towel (not soaking) to wipe off the stickiness and follow with a cotton pad with witch hazel toner. I get a smooth result each time 😀
Sugaring works well on dry skin. I have dry skin and it was fine. The trick is to keep the hair length short to get much pain. Overtime the hair growth slows down. Hair becomes softer.
It works pretty well for me. My legs were always itchy after waxing but with sugar paste it'ss not a problem anymore. I have very light, thin hair and wax never pulled the full thing out correctly (it was like I shaved, after 3 days I had to do it all over again) but sugaring lasts a lot longer.
I sugared my armpits and it's like my best discovery this year! 1. It's not messy cause sugar washes off with just water. 2. It almost didn't hurt at all. 3. It's way better than shaving that I used to do. I'm definetly intending on sugaring my legs this summer!
I used to love sugaring but it takes too long to make and the temperature in the room has to be right other wise it gets too runny. I have so much hair that I can't reuse my pieces like this lol
‼️‼️DO YOUR LEGS ACTUALLY FEEL SILKY SMOOTH LIKE THEY DO AFTER SHAVING ❓❓❓‼️‼️ I've always wanted to know this but no one has ever answered it. Because what's the point of looking like you have no hair on your legs but it's extremely prickly and feels like sandpaper!! Please answer anyone who knows! Are there any shaving alternatives that actually leave you feeling silky smooth besides laser hair treatment? I absolutely cannot stand to feel prickly at all I literally have been shaving every single day since 7th grade. I cannot stand the feel of prickles
WHY DOES NO ONE ANSWER THIS QUESTION EVER??? Ive been checking back every single day because I want to know so badly but literally I the second I ask this everyone stops replying. So legit that makes me think it just visually removes the hair and doesn't actually make you soft. Otherwise why would this question be ignored on the like literally 20 videos I've asked it on?
@@WhitneyDahlinHi! I did sugar waxing care by professional. It was my first time and the result is 10/10. After the waxing, my skin is soooo smooth. Will do it again after a month or so.
@@binibini7779 THANK YOU!! I am check back every so often to find out! How long did the smoothness last? I know it's different for everyone but I just don't want to even bother if you get prickly really fast. Because it's not just the appearance of hair that bothers me it's the prickliness that drives me up a wall.
Tbh I'm impressed how calm people are while waxing- I never waxed my legs or anything and I'm terrified of the pain I'd have to endure if I would try it-
Sugaring is awesome because you wait for it to cool down completely pretty much, so you don’t risk burning yourself (regular wax) and it’s a lot easier to remove residue bc it’s just sugar, so you only need warm water. Regular wax leaves the most annoying residue no matter what I do. Important tip: exfoliate before to prevent ingrown hairs, apply pressure immediately after flicking and it will reduce pain, aloe Vera is nice after you’re done if you have some remaining stinging or irritation
@@Jess-737 I'm so glad there was a brave curious soul way back when, because I love me some caramel. Actually, it seems almost sacrilege using it for waxing.... Unless it's waxing itself right across the top of my ice cream.
I’m a sugar waxer for life. Used to do regular waxing and would get so red and itchy from it. Sugaring is so much better. I use little cards that came with my orders that are basically just like credit cards like she said
I was surprised that women in other countries are shaving or waxing their legs when the first time I saw videos on tiktok because in my country women are not doing this, for me having hair on our legs or arms is unique. I like it!
My sensitive skin can't handle both waxing and sugar waxing. It makes my skin red and inflamed for 3 days. I have hair with big follicles. Like once u pull the first strip, all u see is thick white dots. I think lazer is my only resort. But I'm too broke for that
I love sugaring but I started shaving(with an electronic razor) between every occasional sugaring session because: 1)your hair has to be long to stick to the sugar 2) im scared to burn myself or rip off my skin so I get a sugaring professional (who happens to be my moms friend) to do it 3) when she does it she gets every little hair which takes abt 2 hours for my arm and legs
You have to be super super sure the sugar wax cools down enough for you to use. Obvious I know but it can trick you at times. If it feels warm to touch it's most likely going to leave a burn I find. You should spot test it before applying. Most recipes work
Here in LATAM dermatologists and people in general are always complaining about this method as it is not very usual and they keep saying that it is gross to use sugar for waxing lmao.
I’ve always wanted to try sugaring bc I have such issues after shaving (dry skin, razor rash/burn, & I have strawberry legs) but I don’t even know where to begin 🤦🏻♀️
@@transbiologistthetransesto7956 Unrelated to hair but I'm trans and work in a health field... Yay for trans biologists! It is getting better and we are finally becoming able to more openly work in professional jobs
Yep, I used it about a decade (from 25-35) and no longer need to! My legs are hair free- and I had the scary East European semi-gorilla look, lol😅! Too bad it doesn't work on my fem- beard and mustache😭. I did electrolysis for years on my lower face and not even weed killer would take out the roots of these things! I console myself knowing every other woman in my group (esp. over 40) is dealing with the same issue.😄 You can overdo it tho. The ones who have removed even the baby fuzz look like plastic Stepford wives🤣. I guess I removed just enough to not end up joining the circus.
It depends on your pain threshold. I’ve been living with a chronic pain condition since I was 14 so waxing isn’t really painful to me. And it saves time instead of shaving, especially being 6’1 so long legs = long time to shave lol but of course personal preference. But waxing is quicker, more efficient for some, can prevent ingrowns in you’re prone to them and you generally wax less often than you shave so there’s the appeal for some 😊
@@anyamiranda9452 they make home laser treatments now. You no longer have to go to salons and pay thousands. They cost like $200 but imagine how much money you're saving in your lifetime not repeatedly buying razors, creams, wax, etc on a biweekly basis and just using the same device until the hair no longer grows back at all. Also, if you get them from stores like QVC, it's paid in several smaller payments monthly rather than upfront.
My mom has been getting sugared for years! When she would bring me and my sister to her appointments, the lady who sugared her would give us some sugar on a popsicle stick as a little treat. It’s one of my favorite childhood memories.
@@It5tete never heard of that. From where I am from women do sugaring for centuries ans it is the opposite way ? Can someone explain why it is différent ?
Cold metal knife is a gamechanger for me, also if you can't make the right consistency like me, put ur wax in the fridge for awhile so it hardens and then use it
sugaring (in my opinion!) also hurts less if done correctly because you pull the hair in the direction it grows, causing less irritation! make sure to take a warm shower and do a little scrub before btw, i found it helps with the hair coming out easier :)
But remember that male or female, screw society because you do not have to shave! The more people that dont, the more society accepts it and the more people are liberated in the future
I'm so excited next month in April I get to meet with a dermatologist that is willing to try something experimental with me I've been trying so desperately to get rid of my hair at first I was okay with the idea of just making it more manageable but having to go through the process for long-term hair reduction and knowing how it works it really makes me depressed especially how expensive it is and definitely because most of them lying through there advertisements and I don't like that they do it to get people through the doors at their clinics just a Sit Them Down and tell them okay it's not permanent hair removal it's reduction and it doesn't Target your route it targets the pigment in your hair which could also Target your skin which is why there's such a thing as good candidates for having light skin and dark hair also it's not guaranteed I'm of course referring to laser in IPL for electrolysis love that just human error and because the hairs in the way it's really hard to get to the actual route that's why you need several sessions but what I figured to try doesn't deal with all of that is using old school techniques with some newer technology that's not made for hair removal but that's not what it's actually doing it just helping the process so everything's already there I just need help putting it together mostly to make the medicine proportion
Ive actually used her recipe/methods. This does NOT need to be hot to use so no worries burning yourself. Remember, hot sugar can be more dangerous than hot cooking oil! This stuff works so well and my thin blonde leg hair didnt grow back completely for almost 2 months.
It's almost considered an ancient way used to remove hair in iraq .. it's called aloucha .. and yes it's useful ..the second one is sheera same aloucha but more liqudy texchure and they use piece of cloth with it ..they stretch it on the cloth then stick it on the skin ..removal is like waxing .. the third way is using threads .. also there is shaving .. wax .. and machines that works like the thread method ..
Omg I love abetween!!! She's the first that taught me how to remove all of them hairs through sugaring which I've doing for the past couple years! You better mentioned her Dr. Anthony 😂😭💗
Sugaring hurts WAY less too I absolutely love it And it’s super easy to make Super easy as in there’s only 3 ingredients It actually takes a good amount of practice to get the right consistency (if you’re gonna use it w a strip tho that’s even easier IMO)
I wish I could try it someday. But my skin is so sensitive I know I should test a small part first. But I like the concept of this more than wax strups because you can simply rinse it off after! Wax strips leave an awful stubborn residue
Every esthetician I’ve talked to says the same thing: sugar wax sucks. Soft or hard wax is the way to go, laser removal and electrolysis are more permanent options. In my experience, sugaring just couldn’t keep a grip on my strong as hair so i was mainly getting vellus hairs (that’s those thin “blonde” hairs you can see on your body). Definitely would try if you’re just doing it at home though, use caution and if it works for you, yay 🎉!
since I didn't see anywhere where she was credited, this video was made by Abetweene and she's posted a lot of tutorials here on youtube on how to make your own sugar wax and how to use it! I recommend checking her out if you're interested in doing it
