I just got the game today, and played it for a few hours engrossing myself into it. I was always looking for something like this tbh. Something others in the genre couldn't catch my interest. Love it so much, and can't wait to see where the devs take it.
Yes for sure! The bugs that are there currently are noticeable, but I find myself so engaged otherwise that they barely bother me (even though I LOVE dating ppl in games and that part is p buggy!) After Stardew and Littlewood I went through a handful of farming related games trying to find something that held my attention. There are a lot of them out there that are very cookie cutter, with bland NPCs and nothing really 'new' about them. This one captivated me right away. IMO it's worth the higher price even in early access. The characters are great, the pixel art is gorgeous, game play is pretty damn solid for being very early access. It hits a lot of the marks in the genre that make a game addictive and fun for me, and also feels fresh and new at the same time. Absolutely loving the fantasy aspect and the more adventurous feel.

Thanks for mentioning this. I agree, as a big fan of older Harvest Moon games (Back To Nature and before) & enjoyed Stardew, I too has found many other farming sims lacking. From the modern HM, Story of Seasons titles & Rune Factory titles, to many others with bland NPC & world, and even Kynseed which looked to have a lot of potential, I ultimately found to be disappointing & largely incomplete with weird design decisions here & there, leaving me with no new farming sims I actually want to play. This one looks interesting, and if its actually as good as people make it out to be then I hope I'll be able to enjoy it.
one thing i love about this game is that while most games force you to be human in a fantasy world this one gives you a choice of been a variety of races
EXACTLY! I've been playing SO much Stardew on stream this year, and going back and forth between magically watering crops in Sun Haven and hinted magic from the wizard in Stardew is so funny. I'll be posting more tips for Sun Haven if you choose to get it!

Hello, saw the video on Steam Community! I want to tell you about 5:50 (bug), when you talk with an npc, that npc is freezed and time is still going, that npc must be in a location on a specific time. In Stardew Valley, time is frozen, if you try to block an npc with trees/ other things, they will ignore em and increase the walking speed to arrive at time at their dest.
I've been looking for a game like this for so long. None of the other farming sims have quite caught my attention like this one. I picked it up last night and am stoked to explore Sun Haven as a vampire-devil sad boi.

for those anyone planning to date lynn please don't. if you don't like your partner mentioning other man in front of you 😂( she will always mistake you for nathaniel Male npc in the game because she keeps thinking of him. ). i hated that so i will not pursue her unless that is changed when marriage is implemented with also changes to npc
For sure! There's a lot of content already and the devs keep posting patches. Next big update is scheduled for July 9th so I'm not scared of running out of things to do yet. Will be posting more stuff on YT if you choose to get it!

I played about 200 hours of Stardew and am already done with it cause the mechanics is pretty much the same after year 1. It is all about going to Skull cavern and getting all farming automated. I am not too excited about Ginger Island. It is fighting monsters and farming similarly again by getting even more automation again. SDV needs to fully update its life sim aspect of the game and not adding more regions and caves.

@@FaeMidway I've just been sinking into it, it isn't made by a team so you have to give it some grace in terms of lack of direction; but everything + a bit of googling so far has really hit the spot. It's an amazing game. P.S again, I don't usually watch youtubers but if you covered Serin Fate I'm sure I'd watch. It's a solo game and I'd love it to be co op or multiplayer, but I guess watching someone else enjoy it is good enough for me too.

25 bucks is pretty steep for an early access game. It is now 20 buck and I still think it is expensive. Stardew Valley is only 15 and will have great discount too.
Ahhhhh, have I just found ANOTHER game I might enjoy. I've recently started playing kitaria fables and I love it but feel it still needs more development and haven't been able to find anything on whether it's advancing or not! Great video, I shall be putting this and rune factory on my to buy list 😊

Stardew valley is amazing and charming. Not only does sun haven have a better story, it has mpre rpg elements. Magic elements. It kimd of defied all expectations. This is not a jab at sdv btw. I still freaking love that game. I also really want to play rune factory 5 as i have not played harvest moon in like 20 years lol
Totally agree! Sun Haven is my favorite early access game still after almost a year. I have a Rune Factory 5 video up from right before it's western release but haven't made an update yet...TLDR I don't recommend RF5 unless you like to grind a lot. The controls on Switch aren't great, the story is fine and the dialogue is rough/very long. Will make another vid soon!
Yeah exactly! Then I think they glitch away because they have a hardset "be at x location by this time" setting. Seems like the devs patched this out though, and I didn't notice anything today when I was recording more videos!

My computer won't let me play this so I had to get my money back but I love the little bit I've seen and I will definitely pick it back up when I get my new PC.
Honestly same, I love Stardew Valley mods on PC but having amazing games ready to travel with me is ideal too! Gonna keep an eye out for Sun Haven on it 👀

I'm not sure if there's a tool bar section specifically, but in your settings (hit esc or tab, maybe?) there should be a 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x option which has helped me see the screen better. Otherwise I must say this footage is from right after Early Access release so it might have changed since then :( Lmk if that helps or not!
To this Day i regret not backing the game back when i had the chance just because i wasnt sure about the whole multiplayer part and the Art Style :// Might get it in th eFuture though, all ive seen of it so far looks really interesting :)

Honestly I would say it depends, Yeah Stardew Valley is great and well polished BUT on the other hand someone who may be new to the farming games may actually enjoy the lack of annoying energy that Stardew has where half the days if you don't care about the NPC dating at all you have used up all your energy by 10am and so sleep 20 hours a day because of the energy limitations, where as this one (at least currently) doesn't have that annoying energy restriction. I have played many different farming games starting with Harvest Moon on the Gamecube, but I can definitely see how the strict energy restriction in Stardew could put some people off, obviously as you progress and start adding sprinklers and what not that energy restriction isn't near as tight, but by that time you have probably already lost the person looking for a casual game's interest. As such which is a better starter for people really depends on what they are looking for because polish isn't everything.
I hate to say, but I agree! It sometimes feels like the Harvest Moon series isn't trying to innovate at all. But I'll have to be fair and give them another shot since I haven't played since I think, it was being made by the Stories of Seasons team
@@FaeMidway I don't think Marvelous are not trying to inovate for their HM/SoS game tho. They literaly add so many new elements on their game. It's not blatant innovation, but I can say it's steady. I can sense it from their old to new game. For example, gender option when you finally can choose to play as a male or female without buying different game like in older ds, gameboy, PS1, and PS2. They add feature where we can change our character's clothes to we can custom our character. We can only marry spesific marriage candidates because of gender locked to we can marry everyone. New customization to our farm, new animals, new crops, new mechanics, etc. I doubt they will add combat mechanic for SoS since they already have the fantasy version, Rune Factory. But it's good to see many new developers try to invest in farming game and make the genre grow because we can have many choices, not only HM/SoS/RF like in the old days. But ofc those games have plus and minus, just like HM/SoS has plus and minus. Those indie games are more popular in the west instead of Japan. Marvelous still has big market in Japan, but they have more competitors in the west.

You can date multiple people at once! For now I believe there isn't any con to doing so- they won't notice or say anything LOL. In general, farming games with dating mechanics typically do allow you to date multiple people but only marry one (with some exceptions/if the game specifies). For example, in Stardew Valley, dating everyone DOES cause some problems (which I have a video on if you're interested!). So glad you enjoyed the video frien!
Same! A patch 2 days ago added a second Elemental hair option if you play as an elemental which is cool! But I want more dialogue/rela options for the Elemental NPCs, they're so beautiful
i like the mechanics. the character design is not very great though in terms of pixel art, i like all the portraits though. And the interior of a lot of places looks way over exaggerated as far as perspective is concerned
I also think the small character pixel arts don't do the rest of the game/art justice! Especially as it's featured on the game title graphics around the web. The interiors don't bother me as much because I love clutter over boring-ness but can definitely see a few issues with perspective. Thanks for watching I appreciate you!

It's 20,99 €, which is not a high price for an indie game on Steam. I saw someone else play it a few days ago and bought it. For a game in EA (I've played a lot of those), it's already pretty good and definitely will keep me occupied for a long while. I do like Stardew Valley, but I like the fishing (no minigame - the minigame is what made me mod SV) and the mining in this one better. I'm having a lot of fun (and I haven't even seen the other towns yet), so it's definitely worth the price for me.
This is so nice to hear! I think Sun Haven is definitely a bit unpolished and can feel clunky, but feel like some ppl are a bit too stubborn with a little clunkiness esp in Early Access when games can still be so unique and still enjoyable. There are games with more content for less $ (Stardew) and vice versa, too! I'd say a lot of the content right now is in the dateable chars so if that's not what you're looking for, maybe wait til more of the storyline is released :)

I actually thought Roots of Patcha already released, but now looking it up I see that must have been some sort of demo/alpha! I'll have to reread about it! I'm also looking forward to Coral Island, although I hear we'll have to wait until Early Access in October ish before we can release content :(
It's not gonna happen. For some unknown reasons, Sony doesn't like many of the rpg and pixel games being ported from PC to PS4 or 5. Early access games are out of the question. Even though Sun Haven is now officially launched, I doubt if Sony will get it on PS5 any time soon.
TBH...kinda! There's no boss to fight and every area to unlock, with monsters, can be unlocked simply by running away from the beasts. I also noticed some combat spells are a lil buggy with aiming, but on another save, I maxed crossbow attack extremely quickly which let me kill mobs fast. But again, not much reward unless you want to go the gold through combat route. Let me know if you'd enjoy a more indepth video on combat in Sun Haven! Oh and concerning the rpg story, there really isn't much implemented yet beyond "you must save us from darkness, go train" since it's in early access
That sucks, I really like the getting married and having children part of stardew. I guess it's not real so you can pretend to have children and pretend to be good parents... that feels way out of place. Being good parents as a unnatural thing -> lol.
