I have a strat for you, leave fury blocks for the last strech, when Fury Bowser no longer retreats after each shine, you can rapidly get all of them in a swoop except for the first island that is unlocked post game.
One interesting difference in approach between the two is how unlockable content works. A lot of content that you previously had to unlock in Mario Kart 8 was there by default in the port, whereas 3D World actually made you unlock content that was there by default in the original (such as Luigi Bros. and the ability to see your completion time in a level).
I love how when you edit your videos you keep it very calm and/or simple but then randomly you put in explosions and/or memes on the moments when i least expect them!
Notice how he never used footage of Sherbet Land while trash talking Mario Kart 8’s battle mode. This is proving my point that Sherbet Land is a perfect battle track and should be added back into 8 Deluxe
My favorite port is 3D World. I just wish we could get a new Mario Kart! It was been 7 years since MK8 and I'm getting a bit tired playing the same tracks over and over.
I didn't really use my Bowser amiibo except for one time where Fury Bowser left right as I got to some Fury Blocks, but I didn't wait around and that made the blocks less intrusive
Didn’t watch yet, but… I think this is going to happen. “Mario Kart added dry bones as a playable character, but dry bones is not playable in 3d world, so mario kart wins!”
bowser's fury deserves more credit, bro. i feel like you're mistakenly judging it against mario odyssey instead of against other DLC type content. it blows other extra content away by a mile. it also is the first true sandbox mario game. not saying it's better than odyssey or even 3d world, but it's way better than a 6/10. great videos. thanks for the top tier content.
I like Mario Kart 8 but it seems like they didn't add much in the port and I really want to try Bowser's Fury. I still think Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is my favorite Mario Kart Game tho.
i feel like the battle mode was supposed to be included in the original mario kart 8 and that’s it’s not fair to compare it to bowser fury because that is a fully original game mode that they didn’t have to really make
Same dude, it was so good. I want the next mainline game to be just like it but with a way more developed world. I want tons of biomes and environments, and towns with NPC's to give you quests.
SM3DW+BF’s “Dive” isn’t actually a Dive. It’s actually a Roll done in midair. You can also pounce in midair as Cat Mario and Crouch Spin midair as Tanooki Mario.
With Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you missed the new beginner's modes. Deluxe adds Smart Steering and Auto Acceleration (though they're not available in Time Trials, and Auto Acceleration isn't available in Battle Mode either), which allow for beginners to play more easily. Smart Steering specifically has a trade off where if you have it turned on, you can't get purple sparks.
Wait... didn’t Nathaniel bandy just make a vs video? Well it’s just a coincidence may- NO HE COPIED HIM AND RELEASED,SCRIPTED AND WELL EDITED VIDEO UNDER 2 HOURS!!!!!
I wish you could choose the speed in mario 3d world as it helps prevent chaos when playing with lots of little ones who get annoyed easily from constantly dieing and not being waited for.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you here, I think that bowser's fury is far superior to mk8's battle mode. Bowser's fury completely changes up the 3D world formula and does such a dramatic shift, and is something completely new, whereas battle mode is just more mario kart but played differently. Not to say that it's bad - It is still a really good, but When you look at which port is better and which added more content, I would have to say 3D world.
I hate balloon battle in Mario kart 8 that's why I hate battle mode in games like wii and 7, but the rest game modes are great except coin runner, ds was the best balloon battle. 3d world has nostalgic for me even though I have both wii u and switch versions. I just find platforming better than racing. Dive was the best move added.
For the waiting by the bricks issue, the idea is that you go off and do some shines, and when Fury Bowser appears, you head back. Still a bit tedious, but not a big issue
I know it can be tedious having to wait for Bow Bow, but I bet you didn't realize that the Bow Bow amibo was a thing. Scanning the Bow Bow amibo while in Bow Bow's Fury IMMEDIATLY spawns Bow Bow. Sooooooooooooo
@@theearthkingdom7537 I would agree. Bowser's fury looks better and even though there are a lot less main collectibles, they require more effort than most in odyssey. I also like the power up storage system.
My personal favorite battle mode is also Renegade Roundup. Me and my brother had tons of fun playing that together, and it never gets old. The only two I'd say are a bit of a letdown are Shine Thief and Coin Runners.
@@theawkwardguy5397 Glad it made you laugh! Breath of the wild is cross platform than a port. Kinda like how Spider Man Miles Morales was on Ps4 and Ps5,that doesn't make it a PS4 port,if that makes sense.
I basically bought all "big" games on the switch and mario 3d world+bowsers fury are definitely my favorite games on there. 100%d both in less than a month
"All the OTHER Koopalings are here."? Bowser Jr. is no Koopaling. Also Pokémon is NOT owned by Game Freak. They, Nintendo and Creatures Inc. all hold 33.3% of the Pokémon brand and the Pokémon Company with Nintendo being the sole owner of the trademark.
I'm sorry and I mean no direct offense to you, but I just find it funny how you criticize Bowser's Fury for reusing the same type of repetitive shine throughout the game and that "1/4th of the shines aren't fun to collect" but then praise Odyssey as a "perfect game" even though literally like (I'm not exaggerating) 99% of Odyssey's content is reused and sooooooo much of it is just tedius extremely easy busywork. I agree the fury blocks were pretty horrible and lazy, but other than that I seriously thought this mode took all of the poorly executed ideas of Odyssey and made them actually really good. I found the repeated shines were fun and different enough to justify being repeated like the shards and the cages. The shards in fact just felt like smaller collectathon items. Idk, that's just how I feel. I don't understand the praise Odyssey gets. It's not a bad game at all, but it just feels so rushed and funny enough played safe despite having some of the wackiest ideas of any Mario game.
Most of the moons people say are repeated in odyssey are actually differently. These bowser fury blocks are the exact same every time and so are the lucky shines, which end up being about 17% of bowsers fury. Add on the shines that are just waiting and you get to about a quarter being un-fun. Bowsers fury cage and blue coin shines are on the level of the notes or timer moons in odyssey where they are actually done differently. Odyssey isn’t even close to the worst Mario game in terms of repetition, the game just has the most content. Sm64 has 23 red coin stars and 15 100 coins, galaxy makes you refight every single boss, etc.
@@Odyssey_Central Wow you actually responded, I'm honored. Ok, ok, like I said I fully agree with the fury blocks. They were the first thing that concerned me seeing 1 per island and I found them very tedious and lame. Also the iceberg waiting shine you used as a huge point was the only one of its kind in the game (that I remember) and I definitely got Sunshine vibes from it too. Those were definitely bad. However repeated challenge concepts like the 8 red coins and blue coins I think are great if they're used differently, which I think Bowser's Fury did right since they are allowed to take advantage of a new environment each time. My biggest issues with Odyssey's repeated challenges are... 1. They were all too basic. For example when I played Odyssey I was underwhelmed by how basic the note moons were. They were usually grouped in a small area with little to no obstacles and the only "challenge" would be to walk or jump in their direction. Of course there were a few small exceptions but I seriously can't remember them. In Bowser's Fury when there was a blue coin shine to get, it would be a 40 second run through an obstacle course they were designed around. 2. This is something I never see talked about but so many of the repeated concepts simply don't fit the aesthetic of any of the worlds they were placed in. The Sphynx is one of many great examples of this. He fit great in the Sand Kingdom, but then seeing this giant Sphynx in literally every world with no design variation was so boring and just felt lazy. The concept itself being repeated is okay, but it's the fact that they reused the same model for everywhere is the problem. They could've even simply just changed the colors of it a bit like stone to fit in the wooded kingdom for instance. What makes it worse is this is a problem I've seen Yooka Laylee heavily criticized for, but then Odyssey gets a free pass? If Odyssey's repeated challenges and concepts were at a larger scale and changed up their aesthetics more, I wouldn't have such a problem with them. These are only 2 of my main issues with the repeated concepts, but I'm sorry, I'm both too tired and not in the right mindset to write out any more. Besides, I'm not trying to argue but instead have us be open and understanding of each others' opinions. I recommend watching this video essay on the issues with the game, though it's pretty long. You may not agree with all his points but it would give a good perspective on the issues people have with the game. In fact, this video is what helped me first put many of my feelings of the game into words. m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kYJx5xt2cB0.html&vl=en
@@Odyssey_Central Also I don't remember Galaxy making you fight each boss twice, unless you're talking about the Luigi playthrough which I would definitely not count. Odyssey's the one that makes you refight all the bosses 2-3 times, even if they're a bit harder each time.
Your points were very solid. BUT You forgot 2 things: You can´t disable CPUs in battle mode AND Bowser´ Fury is a good experiment who may determine the fate of the next step of mario. And Its a NEW Sandbox mario, so the all stars collection isnt a good point to dismiss the lack of 3D mario (the collection kinda poopy too)
Any one else noticed the remix of the Arch Illager boss music when he talked about the negatives in Bowser's Fury?? Edit: It starts at 10:43 Edit 2: Apparently that specific remix is from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
In your mario maker videos you reference that you make levels. The ones that I've seen look really cool and fun! Could you tell me your maker I'd so I can play your levels?
This is a good vídeo but i think the fury block shine complains are not deserved. You are suposed to do other things while you wait for Bowser to get there no just soy there waiting. I think the rest of them are really valid complains though.
You are a bit to biast: bowsers fury can be played by two people and is thus a multiplayer game. Mario kart 8 deluxe's battle mode is just a tiny adition that most people barrily play, while everyone that owns 3D world + bowsers fury will play bowsers fury. I just think you should have given bowsers fury a bit more credit and time to play the game.
While I'll always defend Tropical Freeze's port to the Switch, I am kinda let down by the fact that they didn't add new levels like they did in Returns 3D.
I feel like your highlighting the Bowser blocks way too much. I agree they can get annoying but they’re not THAT bad, and besides the rest of the shines are among some of the best collectables to find in mario some even surpassing Odyssey.
@@Odyssey_Central "Super Mario Oddyssy is the best game ever made, it has no problems whatsoever and every other game sucks so bad." Sound familiar? *COUGH COUGH* You *COUGH COUGH*
ok you said you were going to compare mario kart 8 vs Bowsers fury but you showed clips of Super Mario Odyssey so from what videogame is the clip at 2:30????
I think I personally prefer bowser's fury more. It's one of the most fun experiences I've had with mario games and it's definitely in the top 5 for me. But I also greatly enjoy the battle mode.
