We have a reverse centaur mini at one of the tables I dm at that was a minor practical joke when we first started playing together and has since become a recurring gag that haunts every game we play... It's a great figure 😂😂

Talespire added the beginning of mods, so character sheets and soundboards and such are already in. They also hope to do do player seats early next year and custom minis (not from heroforge) soon. They already let players test the upload, you just can't use em yet.

hey, so I do have a question. I saw your video about trying to run two Talespires with only one copy, however I purchased Talespire through steam. I'm not tech savvy and I do feel like I cant figure this out. but can I still run two programs with only one copy? I only ask because based on your video, you purchased it separately from steam, and than added it to steam so you can run it twice. If you can assist, that'd be great.

It does have microtransactions. Sure, technically they aren't in Talespire itself, but you even bring up the HeroForge integration as a feature. It costs 8 dollars to get permission in HeroForge to import your mini to a virtual tabletop. That's 8$ _per mini_, even for minor variations. Not just a microtransaction, but a real chonky one at that. And since neither the model importing TaleWeaver doodad nor the integrated character creator are still not around, this is the only supported option for getting any new models into the system.

Nope. Players cant join. Perpetual "waiting for adventur to begin" which is a bug iv found out. Cant resize the window, so no videochat alongside the game.

Con: No Mac OS option. I’m over here sitting on a veritable cornucopia of brand new extremely powerful Cupertino built monstrosities…but Talespire won’t let me in the cool kids club. Other than that, it looks amazing!

Great video. I can see a lot of people coming over to TaleSpire following the popularity of Baldur's Gate 3 and wanting to make a similar experience.

Your observation about your ADHD keeping you from focus on theater of the mind made me chuckle. I have mild ADHD and when I start really role playing I go into tunnel mode, in 3 hours later I wonder why all the other players want to take a break to go to the bathroom after only what feels like about 15 minutes subjective time.😅

There are 5 main things that keeps TaleSpire from being, in my opinion, the best way to play D&D ever: 1 - No in-game character customization. Yes yes, i know you can link Hero Forge (which is awesome btw), but you still have to pay to have it in-game. I'm the type of DM who have 25 different NPCs and i just do not have the money to pay for all of it (where i live the minis are prohibitive expensive). 2 - Fog of War. Simply being able to set that the assets that a player can see is linked to a radius around a mini, and assets blocks the vision, would be game-changing. I can't stand having to use 232543 hide volumes to hide and show things, and also when i do for one i do for everyone. 3 - Better Lightning I simply do not like how lightning is done in talespire, too much hassle to set it up right. Idk it might just be me. 4 - Darkvision Set different exposure levels of different players. 5 - Cinematics Absolutely of extreme importance. Right now you have the cutscene mode where you can grab shots that make the camera go into specific position and angles. I just NEED to be able to make a time-line that i'm able to move miniatures and also the camera. That's really not that hard to do. Miniature movement is basic stuff and camera movement can be easly done using splines. 1, 3 and 5 are a must have for me. Never ever i will play D&D in another way if these things are implemented. Everyday i pray for the Devs to implement these.

Thanks! I was debating getting it but saw the mixed reviews, personally i was like "it's friggen 24 bucks. Any video game is way more." So i thought maybe i was just crazy? Nope i'm not, people are cheap as hell.

This is coming a year later, TaleSpire is free to play for player-mode.

I am planning to buy this game just to make customized maps for my personalized campaign, I would only present my players prints of overhead views of the scenarios, since we play in person and I am looking to avoid that "videogame feeling", its a good deal for it?

The dice being rolled on the battle scape, drives me nuts. They need to have fade out for dice. As a terrain builder in RL it am greatly triggered when someone rolls a dice on my 60 hour construction project, that seems to have carried over to TS also :). Great vid as they all have been sir.

I just picked up a copy. Seems pretty cool so far. Though I didn't know it was online only. Is there by chance a local mode for in person play so I'm not reliant on server/internet?
