No one really talks about this game, so thanks for doing that. I really like it. I have it on Switch and think it’s one of the best racers on the system.
Little late to the party, but you should review the original Sonic Riders! I personally consider it the melee of the kart racing genre and it is very fun. It does have a very small amount of tracks due to it being a 2006 ps2/GameCube era game, and has a very lackluster tutorial, but the mechanics are really what set the game apart, like TSR, and it does more to make it's own mark on the genre rather than take heavy inspiration from Mario Kart
This was a HUGE step backward from the previous game in the series (Transformed). The “team” mechanic sucks. It’s an interesting experiment but is completely antithetical to racing - trying to be the first across the finish-line. I was also greatly disappointed by the sole focus on a Sonic game roster and the boring track designs. I hope Sega & Sumo Digital learned from this failure and release a “Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed 2.” I want to see more racers & tracks from Sega properties: Alis Landale from Phantasy Star, Shinjuku race track from Yakuza, Nightshade from the PS2 Shinobi series, The Underworld race track from Altered Beast, etc. Fans of the Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing games should avoid this disaster.
Really good video! One thing that bothered me is that the "Sonic games nowadays are so mediocre and rushed (except Sonic Mania)" thing is SO cliché and overused on Sonic-related reviews and i would recomend you to avoid that pointless negativity if you want to talk about Sonic again. And perhaps you went a little overboard with the Mario Kart 8 comparisons, but it could just be me.
