Is the 2019 Mustang GT PP2 the BETTER BUY over a Shelby GT350?

Badass review! Just my opinion - the PP2 LOOKS better. Maybe it's the color, and I don't like stripes. But the wheels definitely look better. However, that Voodoo engine is the jam!

I have a GT and love it. Wish I had the Shelby if nothing more than resale. Both are killer cars and it's a great time for American Muscle!

$20k more for the GT350 but well worth it for that focussed performance, aggressive looks and awesome engine/transmission combo. Great vid...always enjoy your Mustang ones 👍

I really like the wheels on the 2019 PP2 Mustang GT. Did ford ever offer them as an option without PPI or II?

GT350 only in manual, so for those wanting autos, u have to go with GT PP2 or GT500.

Problem in this review is that, the mustang is the facelift model, but Shelby is not the faclifted model. The new Shelby facelift looks similar with the new mustang. But it's ok, no problem.

I'm from the future. Raiti bought his own Gt350 a year later. Not just any gt350 though; a gt350r!!

As a GT350 owner, the noise alone makes this a no-brainer. There is nothing on the road that sounds anything like it. The GT sounds really good as V8s go, but it just can't hold a candle to the Voodoo.

Cool fact, about the emblem. The Korean engineer was named John M. Chun and he also designed the 67 Shelby GT350 and GT500 as well as the Shelby AC Cobra.

It really hurts to see a brand new GT 350 going to redline. These cars are supposed to stay under 4,000RPM for the first 1,000 miles. No wonder so many of these cars have blown motors and end up bought back by Ford under Lemon laws. You just can't let people test drive these.

Love GT’s had four of them. I now own a SS 1LE ... it makes me wish Ford would give more for the money, like standard Recaros, like standard Diff cooler, like the eLSD, like a trans cooler, like 2 piece rotors, like the Tremec. This is referring to the PP2 of course. And with the 1LE I got all that and more for 40k, compared to say, 64k for the GT350. Don’t get me wrong, that Voodoo engine is to-die-for though!! 😊👍

Watching this makes me wish I could say thank you to the previous owner of my car for adding the SVE SP2's (Replicas of the PP2 wheels) and that lip spoiler, looks so much better than base model.

2018 GT350 won my vote and my money back in December '18. Traded out of a 2018 Focus ST to get into the Shelby and have 0 regrets. The GT PP1 and PP2 do offer a lot of car for the money though. Snag whichever one doesn't put you in a financial bind and drive it like you mean it! 😁

Shelby will hold its value the gt will just depreciate like crazy. 50,000 for a gt u can get a Shelby for that price used one at least.

Mr. Raiti you've got a great youtube channel going on. I've been clicking on a lot of your vids as you're pumping out content. I'm going to be in the market soon as my lease's end is coming up. One thing that's a bummer about the Ford's is the engine problems and the manual trans shift fork. Just about every mustang GT and some GT350 youtubers with fair amount of followers has had engine failures and issues. Orange GT Flordia, Tunnel Chaser, Stangemode hasn't but he got lucky, Michael Mac engine tick and many more. I was seriously thinking GT and possibly LFP power adder but the 50-55k risk is to high. 18-19 and and likely 2020 all the same. No addressing the issue or acknowledging the well document issue. Plus the fact the focus RS had to have a head gasket fix right off the dealership floor so they didn't continue to have catastrophic failures. I love the GT and 350 but dang if im going to risk buying a bad apple which is a rather high risk percentage. Better luck with a v8 camaro or a dodge scat-pack 392.

The PP2 is the Metallic, yeah? I still might buy a 2019 when deals are hot... GT350R just price point is too high w 500 coming and compared to the ZL1 1LE.

The base GT has 14in brakes, the PP1 and PP2 both have 15in brakes.

I agree with you, the GT PP2 should have had a fea more horses than standard GT. ALSO the 2019 GT 350 should have received a bump of atleast 25 horses. It has not increased since 2016. Dodge Iis the best at bumping up horses between years more so then GM and Ford. ..

PP2 is a great option. Think a used GT350 is a better buy.

I broke my shift fork after 30,000 miles. At the same time I raced my car so many times and it happened on a badly missed gear so it possibly could have happened on any car out there. If anyone is skeptical about buying this car, don’t be. They fixed it and it’s back on the road.

The hood of the 350 hasn't been lowered. The grille is now the same as the R model. I believe someone already corrected you in your last 19 350 intro video. And no disrespect...I don't need you to send me the "brochure" from Ford. Its obviously a one-off misprint.🙂 Kidding aside, I speak as an actual owner of an 18 and am cross shopping the 19s. Still not 100 percent sure if those minimal updates are worth switching. The new calibrations is why I am thinking of trading up, which is closer to an R driving experience. B&O would be sweet as well.

I'd be happy with either. I like the stance of the wheel tire setup on PP2 better. Ford should have given the Shelby much sexier wheels.

The GT350 will always be better than any Mustang GT.

love the review, i went to buy a 2020 GT350, dealer wanted 30k over MSRP. seems like a lot. Anyone else talked to any dealers about the mark up. This dealer said that i would not get it any lower at any dealer. 30k dealer mark up seems like a lot. Just to ask about a GT500, he said he could not get one, but other dealers are asking 40k and up over MSRP for it. I did ask why, and he said supply and demand, dealer only get one if they are lucky. Ford are not making a lot of the GT500s.

One thing you can't get of gt350 is a conv.. one thing you can get is a pp2 in conv. Gt. Now wonder what difference is between a coupe and conv. In the pp2?

The Shelby is worth the money (if you can buy one without markups).

I know you provide your opinion throughout the video, but I think it would improve these comparison videos if you shared that definite recommendation in the wrap-up segment.

Very cool cars. I still don’t understand shy they made the PP2. It’s starting to get into the performance level of the GT350. Making it too hard of a choice for the customer. It should be. If you want a normal Mustang that’s still really fast. Get the GT, if you want to go around a track with it, get the PP1, but if you want a truly track focused Mustang, get the GT350 and soon the GT500

I would say the GT350, because so far, I haven't heard any issue pertaining to that GT350 having the BBQ Tick, gear forks bending, scored cylinder walls
