Take out any mark ups, and to me it's worth it, but in real life driving, not as much difference in over all driving experience. It's worth it to me because I like having the more rare and different car and the better resale value of the GT350R is worth it alone. I see GT350 around semi often, but never a GT350R. I like the WOW factor. The carbon fiber wheels are sweet too!
@@floridamaddogg same here the price seems marked up, maybe if it had a significant hp boost and a bit more alcantara LoL still a nice car love Shelbys
My buddy has a 2016 gt350R it's crazy sounding in person! it revs up as high as my GSR 1.8 dohc VTEC! when I got my Integra 13 years ago I never thought I would see a Ford rev as high lol
Man...do I love your reviews. Just can't get enough of them. You found a perfect personal scheme and stick to it. The true love you have for the Ford Mustang and especially for the Shelby GT350(R) is coming across so real - no fake enthusiasm, no fake trendy videos just to get viewers. Hope you get your Shelby through Walker Ford. Too bad though Ford doesn't officially distribute these Shelbys over here in Germany or Europe.
Best comparison video I’ve seen between the base and R GT350. - Agree with you about the touches that would have made the R more separated and special compared to the base. In part, because of the performance oriented updates to the base model, which closed the gap with the R, I bought the 2020 base model. - Thanks for the efforts to make this channel possible!
If dealers would make them available for MSRP, everyone would have an R by choice. It's the dealer network that has pushed many a buyer into a standard 350 or PP2 like myself.
Cant get enough of the sound of that flatplane I really like how they lowered the hood like the 2019 GT Mustang and how they kept the aggressive 2017 headlights 2 really amazing cars
Awesome cars and presentation, Joe. But for me, the price difference isn't worth buying the 350R or the 350 for that matter. At my age, I don't track cars so all that xtra performance is just not needed. Honestly, I prefer the sound of the regular GT rather than that Rice Crispees snap crackle and pop on the 350's. The 460 hp on the GT is all I need to have loads of fun driving around town and on the open road. Thanks Joe, keep em' comin'.
Hi Joe, I hope you are doing well. First of all I wanna thank you for your videos and for putting a smile on our faces. Joe I feel the only thing that the channel missing is the POV camera. It will give us as viewers even a better feel and view to really join you in your rides as you smoke the competition and go through these twisty roads. I would watch all your mustang, challenger & charger videos you have posted over & over again without getting sick of them with that POV view.
95% of Americans cannot afford these car, 4% who can afford rather buy boxy SUV leaving only 1% to enjoy these beauties. This shows how wealth is distributed in USA.
@1CBRDUDE Cars are depreciating assets of course, but buying something that makes you happy is an investment in your happiness which directly leads to mental happiness which directly leads to overall health and stress relief. I know so many unhappy uptight people on the verge of having a stroke that would feel a huge weight lifted getting a rush from a powerful car on a nice twisty road or the exhilaration of powerful straight-line acceleration. Also depending on your age and driving record insurance isn't much of an issue.
Either way, most desirable and enjoyable muscle cars right here. I’ll be satisfied with the GT350, the R is amazing, but I’ll be scare to damage this wheels on this FL roads, plus no back seat is a downside for me. Great video 👍👌
I like the little car history trivia you put it periodically about the gurrney flap(idk how to spell it) and the one about the 350 steps, keep up the good work guys much love :)
I didn't know they gave the GT350 the 15-17 tail lights. I saw that the GT500 has the headlights from 15-17 as well. Also, I might be wrong, but both have carbon fiber wheels, the regular GT350 they are just painted black, and the R has exposed carbon fiber.
1 THING MOST PEOPLE DO NOT NOTICE...THE R HAS 30 PROFILE TIRES INSTEAD OF THE 35-S ON THE NON-R.WHAT THAT DOES IS THE OUTSIDE CIRCUMFERANCE IS SMALLER ....HENCE GIVING IT A LOWER DIFFR. GEAR SO IT WILL TAKE-OFF QUICKER + NOT BOG AS MUCH WITH NOT MUCH TORQUE DOWN LOW.
Great review Joe. I cant help but wonder why the poor GT 350 is not offered with the cool looking crescent tail lights like all the other 2018 and newer Mustangs get ? including the new 2020 GT 500 !?
Hello Raiti's Rides, from across the pond in the UK. That was a great comparison between the 350 and the 350R, so much so, that I've just hit the subscribe button. I've had my 2019 GT V8 for just under a year now (with all the options that you can get over here) and even though I've added performance parts ( Steeda H pipe, full IRS anti-hop kit etc etc) the manual gearbox just lets the car down a little bit. SO ...... GT350 with the Tremec seems to be the magic ingredient on these amazing cars!! I can tell you that the Mustangs are a breath of fresh air on the UK roads and without exception, everybody over here wants to know about the car everytime I park it up (more than the other cars I've owned like Porsche, Ferrari and Bentley!!!) Would your contacts at Walkers sell and organise export to the UK?? Keep up the great work my friend!
If you don’t go to the track dont bother getting a gt350r. Don’t just buy the gt350r for the sound. If you like the sound so much then get a gt350 and remove the resonator
@@RaitisRides They are both great for what you want and need. I just want the Street version in blue with A/C and a rear seat. This is very similar to the Chevy Camaro ZL-1 with and without the 1LE package.
If the GT500 gives a manual, it would be legendary at this point, but Ford is trying to do something special here.....the 500 is the first ever stang with a DCT and after months of seeing videos and brochures, all that is left is for people to start buying them and make their own conclusion....I love manuals and I was mad this iconic GT500 didnt come with a manual, but damnit, change is good sometime....😁
Yes it’s worth it every penny! Full blown race car ready to race. Like u said u get this gt350r over gt500 any day I would too! GT350R best of the best mustang! ❤️car❤️ 👍video👍
Thanks for posting these, these are helpful comparisons. Do you know if there's a difference in the calipers beyond the paint color? You noted the rotor's are the same but curious about the calipers.
Yes, I have a wide body 700 hp 2003 cobra built to race around the Miller track. Has a full Kenny Brown suspension with coilovers and Baer 6-piston calipers
If you're strictly taking it to the track, sure get the R. I would not want to daily drive the R with those wheels though. The cost to replace them is outrageous
Good morning Joe- I’ve been trying to discover the specific differences between the 2020 GT350R and the basic 350. I know about the obvious ones: carbon fiber wheels and Cup 2 special tires. But CNBC and Autoweek put out articles about how the R has been changed for 2020: front steering knuckles, revised suspension geometry and new steering rack and recalibrated Magneride. These changes may have created a smoother ride for the R making it better with less tramlining and a much softer ride then the regular 350? Have you driven a new 20’ 350 and compared driving feel to your R? I’d be curious to know if the R has a better driving experience then the regular 350. That alone would make the increased $13k price justified in my opinion. Please advise and maybe you could test the new 2020 non R and compare the experience with your R. There really is not much out there that compares these two models in terms of driving on the street. Thanks.
@@RaitisRides yeah but at least not too much racing aspect like huge rear spoiler on gt350r and its front splitter, also the rims. Those mods really unnecessary imho for a commute car. Except if you are a baller and some car enthusiast or collector.
The gt350 and the gt350r have similar engines HP and torque so how come the r is faster than the regular gt350 I mean both of them have same top speeds 172 mph
To be honest if it was my money I would just go with the standard GT350. Especially since they have seem to have done more changes for 2019 with it. I'll pocket the difference.
GT 350 R is a beast!! The best car Ford has come out with so far. I would love to put one of those engines in a "63 Ford 300 two door coupe... But with a modern chassis!! Oh, and let's not forget the Tremec 6 speed...
Do the Recaro seats come in 6 way electric adjustable. I am a taller guy and sat in a 350 at my local dealer--min adjustments available in manual seats. Needed some adjustments that i couldnt get. Are the GT 500 seats the same manual adjustments, heard they might be electric 6 way. Can you clarify.
NO, NO, NO.... the splitter on the 2019 350R wasn't added to the GT 350R in 2019.... it was subtracted from the standard GT 350... I own a 2016 GT 350 and it has the exact same splitter as is present on the 2019 GT 350R!
Do the 19+ GT350/R’s have a single piece aluminum driveshafts? And will putting Ford performance or Steeda magneride ride lowering springs help or ruin its suspension tuned balance?
Geeze Louise Joe. After your ZR1 vs. C8 upload I've spent the entire time back in my Corvette Corral. Now you drag me back out into the fields to spend time with a couple of wild ponies. This is not good for my bi-Polarism. LOL Just don't go back to the McLarens. I may end up as just a blob of protoplasm. 😉 Save the Wave.
I know you do. I might just have to up my pain meds and have one of each. According to Lee Iaccoca, you know I talk to dead people, he's the mediator between Carroll and Zora who are laying down bets as to which pain med I'll get first. Man, I just can't get a break in this world or the next. 😁
