I currently lease a 2018 Genesis G90 5.0 Ultimate. It is an amazing car and I absolutely love it. I really like this refresh. The grill isn’t my favorite but it’s not a deal breaker. I will get another G90 in this Adriatic Blue color (the refreshed one) when my lease is up. I went online and built a BMW 7 Series that was comparable to my G90 (V8, upgraded stereo, rear TV screens, etc.) and it was $50,000 more than my G90. Yes, $50,000 more! No thanks.
I am a current G90 owner and can tell you I will be trading up for the 2020 G90 this summer. Hard to explain but the luxury level for the money is really incredible. I've never had one problem with mine...even put it in sport mode and took the wifey with for a great test ride through the Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina mountains. That one test made me a believer forever in Genesis quality / handling and sport factor. I've had investment bankers, entrepreneurs and billionaires ride in the back seat and compliment this car. Love the new hood crease line and the grill and wheels which I had to warm up to. It's not a Mercedes , BMW or AUDI but it is an incredible build that I like to call my Korean Bentley. You hit the nail on the head when you said that people who buy these are basically saying they don't need the badge to feel good about the car they are driving.
@@PK-eo8kp Not the reliable ones! Lexus retains it's value bmws depreciate like yogurt because they make terrible cars that fall apart after 3-5 years. All german cars are pretty garbage in comparison to lexus and now genesis.
Oh I like that and although I'm a big Mercedes fan, I think I would get one of these over an E or S class. I'll be a low mile used one would be a great buy for someone wanting a big lux sedan. I kind of like the wheels because they are so different.
You are making a wrong coise, the Mercedes S class 2017-2019 end new 2020 are another level, end not comparable with this car, forget about. The Germans are allways one or two step forward with theyr brand of mercedes, bmw, audi, volkswagen
@@a0r0a7 There were reports saying they want to make European debut at Geneva Auto Show with GV80 but guess what happen ... Anyway, it's true, I've been following this brand for quite a while because of how impressive the progress they've made in such a short amount of time. The best example is the new GV80, such an amazing first SUV by them ...
IMO this and the Lincoln continental sedan do the best at giving a rollsroyce/Bentley vibe to the masses without being tacky. Easily looks like a $100k+ car
Yeah, I'm thinking the same too. Both def got the Bentley vibe (classy, elegance, full of chrome) but somehow they successfully come out with their own distinctive style and design 👍🏼
Great video Joe, there's another gentleman that's on youtube who had mentioned Genesis earlier this year. I had no idea about the model, and after seeing you do a review on it, I have to say, i'm impressed with the Genesis. It has very nice lines, and looks to be well built, and the company that built this, took a lot of time on design, and details through out the car.
In 2015 I almost bought an Equus before eventually buying an Infiniti Q70L. The Q70L is at 70K miles, 30K more to go before I pull the plug and get the car I really want... take a guess. Surprisingly, Hyundai didn't budge on price and I got somewhat scared off by Equus resale value horror stories. Well now I'm on the slippery slope toward 60 and I couldn't care less about resale value noise since I'll have it until it won't matter or I'm dead, whichever comes first.
for some reason i always seen genesis as the quiet guy in the room, like there weren't a lot of media and people talking about them. but after seeing the gv80 and the gv90...…...
Koreans remind me of American creativity in the 50's early 60's in automotive design. A good friend of mine is from Korea and high style is very much part of their culture and also with their personal appearance Their cars suffered with their impression of what a car should look like. Then Hyundai harvested some BMW engineers and they started to melt Korean with German design and after that they are taking off like a rocket. South Korea are the new innovators in car design. The Germans already have it going but South Korean is putting a ton of pressure on the Germans as far as price points. Something at this level of luxury with a German make is going to be North of 100K.
I JUST HOPE YOU HAVE A SPECIAL LIGHTING GADGET FOR YOUR CAMERA SO AS TO LIGHTEN UP THE DARK SPACES YOU'RE FILMING EVEN THOSE VIDEOS YOU HAVE WHERE IT'S AGAINST THE LIGHT. HOPE YOU CAN UPGRADE YOUR VIDEOS. THANKS!
Nice looking car Joe but not crazy for the wheels I think the wheels are very ugly and the front end way too much Grill full Grill they need to cut it back about a quarter and probably would look much better that colored your looks awesome in that car I like to see a dark red one
Back seat driver controls wow, very cool. Almost sold me the car right there. But ... Raiti, how many Twinkies? I agree with your other commenters.. beautiful 😍 blue color, wow.
The challenges is we use a Gimbal and there is no where to mount a light. I am doing some research of some ideas and will have them in place for the Chicago Auto Show.
When speaking about the price of a new Genesis G90, it is often overlooked that the price of the G90 in South Korea when translated into US dollars is actually $100,000! It would appear that the American market is getting a very big discount from the G90 price in other countries. Could somebody explain to me how this price differential is possible. Does Hyundai feel that it must penetrate the US market for this car to be a success. Show less REPLY
I like where genesis is going but that grill in front looks too big and makes the whole car look cheap. Luxuary is about finesse, attention to detail and elegance. Problem with that grill is that not only its overly out proportioned but it looks like those fences you see in parks it has the same shape and design. Please genesis change that It looks too industrial. Other than that yep its a very solid car that should change the game.
great car for the money!! can't beat the reliability except for Lexus this is priced like a loaded E class or Audi A6 may be cheaper!!! 20 to 40 thousand cheaper than a Lexus BMW or Mercedes
Where I live, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a BMW or a Merc. I'm going for the G90. It has been said that a poor man drives a BMW or a Merc. The millionaire drives a Toyota. The G90 is going to eat their lunch because people recognize reliability as well as value.
better and significantly cheaper than lexus LS, or nissan infiniti, because who has a long version like hyundai with the genesis g90 L (long version, longwehhlbase) ??
THE BEST CAR IS. BEING. LONGER CAR ..SO MORE ROOM AND SPACE FOR. BAGS AND THE TRUNK AND MORE ROOM. FOR PASSANGER IN THE BACK SEAT....SO PASSANGER CAN STREGH THEIR LEGS..
