This generation Lexus RX350 definitely wasn't meant to offer a third row option. But I will say that they've done a good job keeping the design fresh and I hope they will continue to offer the V6 on the next generation.
Thanks for the review! This is helping me with my decision. I am a petite woman, only 5 ft tall, and did not feel comfortable driving the Pathfinder or Palisade. Atlas was okay. I think this is a better option for me because I only have 2 kids and won’t use the 3rd row often but like the the idea of having one just in case I need it.
Like the display - hate the trackpad. A simple rotary dial gives you access to everything without having to reach over and/or take your eyes off the road momentarily. I have a Mazda CX-9 which gives you everything at your fingertips. Love the work you and Lori do on this channel!
I like the display having touch and pad. A lot of German cars have that. It nice when you get so frustrated with the touch pad you can just reach over and hit the icon you need. Hey Acura get the hint.
Love your review. Can you start indicating if the cars have WIRELESS Apple Carplay or Android? That is very important these days. Also, I have had lexus for years and they just seem slow to advance their tech.
I like that green. On the standard size RX350 the rear wiper does come out of the spoiler. Maybe it's a 2020 update, but our 2018 RX350 Luxury has dual exhaust with visible pipes and chrome surrounds.
I love the undisclosed location..... it’s been awhile since I have been to the mall... I mean out and about. Love the review - the L is not my first choice I am going back and forth with the RX350 but leaning towards the RX400h - and just hoping I don’t find I have 2 more kids tomorrow - YIKES!!!
Nothing like some Lexus on throttle tiiiiime for our Tuesday evening!!! Hey Joe I got a funny story for ya... so one day last week I was watching one of your videos and my son walked by during the drive section and heard you go on throttle... fast forward to today... he's driving one of his toy cars and I hear him say, "ON THROTTLE!!!! VRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOM!!!! DADDY HE'S GOING ON THROTTLE!!!! VRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOM!!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰👍😂😂😂😂🚗💨💨💨💨💨💨💨🚗💨💨💨💨💨💨💨
I have the 2020 RX 350 (in the regular length) and I couldn't be happier with it. I like the infotainment screen just fine how it is. On the regular length RX, the rear wiper IS tucked under the roof spoiler, which is nice too. Great video, keep getting "On Throttle!!!" Thanks.
I know the grill isn’t for everyone but thats a much better version compared to the messy lines in the old version. The wheels look small - maybe the thin spikes don’t help.
That third row is strictly for kids. I was always conflicted when it came to the Lexus RX as the Toyota Highlander always seemed like the more practical choice and with the XLE trim or Limited trim the interior is almost as nice as the Lexus but for a good $10k to $12k less when new.
I love this car, just come across it today and I have been watching all is features on RU-vid. What disappointed me was that when others see what am watching, they discouraged me with there words ''says the car that you cannot drive; meaning no way I can buy it and own it by myself ''
Hey man about to watch your video again. You think you can ever get your hands on the 2019 MERCEDES-BENZ AMG® GLC 63 S I check out that car the other day and it looked like a straight BEAST.
All of our family has had the RX model for a vehicle. We have had a rx330 2004 with 260k miles, decided to get another one a little newer, bought the 2015 for 24k with 39k miles awd and all the goodies. Its definitely not a tech car but I just love the way they drive (comfortable and quiet) and the reliability. I said now to this gen style just because of the styling. I cant get past the exterior.
Grill appearance is improved but still an eyesore in my opinion. I have read numerous complaints about interior rattling noises, which makes me reluctant to consider buying one.
Who is this for? Why did Lexus make this? I wonder/am hoping they produce a legit midsized three-row crossover, that's not an after-thought like this RX is.
WHY all reviewers tell people "there is a CD player" .....its aDVD player with changer for 6 DVD´s ! Mine is always loaded and i like on a rest to look videos and enjoy very very much the real surround sound in the Mark Levinson sound system which you mostly only get out of DVD videos!! Hopefully Lexus never let this down as well as the alu analog clock
Btw I bought the Acura MDX Tech A spec and got $12k off so bought same price as Honda Pilot . Drives great 👍🏼 9 spd is well done now. Seats a bit hard and yeah the infotainment takes getting used to but Appleplay is fine. Not ready for Kia/Hyundai that drops in value like a stone every year
Raschaud Farmer it goes by generation. This model isn’t outdated at all. It’s been out since 2016, which isn’t long ago, especially for a luxury car. Mercedes and BMW updates theirs now because the older models were out since 2012. They were actually wayyyy outdated before their recent redesign.
This is a benchmark SUV, definitely on my shopping list. It kills the competition simply due to Toyota’s dependability, reliability and quality control.
Everything looks great, except for 3rd row seats too tight and the 12" is ok, Lexus should make the Tesla screen long & big instead of 12" screen, last style around the vehicle was beautiful. Thank you for showing us your demonstration, I used to sells Toyota & Lexus at Longo Toyota. Thanks again. ✌👍❤🙏
Hi, I live in Toronto and want to buy one of the following three cars, let me know which one is better 2014 Rx 350 with 230,000kms CAD 19,000 2008 RX 400h with 175,000kms CAD 12,000 2010 RX 450h with 149,000kms CAD 17,000
Let me make it easier for you, which one of these is not going to surprise me with repairs and maintenance/replacement costs ? C’mon, just select one I just want to know what someone with actual information about these cars would do, don’t give me your “word”, just your opinion would be helpful.
I own a 2019 RX350L, and that third row is useless. The fit and finish inside and out is excellent. Note: in order to tow you need a hitch, and Lexus will NOT sell and install a hitch unless you have the $165 tow pkg option (they will check your VIN). I installed a Curt hitch for a Thule bike rack only, and the hitch looks factory. Overall, it’s comfortable, quiet and reliable; not fast and fun in the handling dept like the BMW X3M40 that I traded for it. Happy wife, happy life.
People will come to realise that infortainment was great. Touchscreen with carplay/android auto so what else does one need - 90% of the time everyone just needs a screen to project their phone to - rest of the time its changing the radio station or making a call, which is easy. The trackpad is actually really easy once you get used to it and gives another option over the touchscreen. Physical buttons are so much easier than everything on a touchscreen when on the move - will go full circle back to buttons. Screen is also at eye level instead of the modern thing of having it below eye level on the dash. Only thing missing is wireless Carplay/AA but you can buy adaptors for that.
When are you going to do one on the new RX 350? 2021 Luxury package.. cannot wait to see that video! And see how much twinkies it can fit for the kids ☺️
Yes, the L version with a 3rd row seat that is not usable is a fail. I like the RX350 as a two row crossover. I am unimpressed with how the V-6 performs, and in the end the vehicle weighs too much.
The regular 2020 RX 350 Executive Package is the one to get. Looks much better from the outside and has more features inside i.e. pano-roof, heated rear seats.
Almost bought an L, but it was too tight for a baby seat. Unusable third row. Got the new highlander instead. Basically has all the features and then some.
Great review Joe! Anything is LEXUS is $, nothing better.. Best reliability and craftsmanship in the auto industry... My 2013 ES350 is amazing, it now only has 36k miles and still drives like new, solid and quiet. Love that I only need regular 87 octane gas in my V6 and straight highway cruising I’m getting 40 mpg. My only ZONKS are my rear seats dont fold down and that Mouse style interface ... i never use it when I’m driving
I might have missed it if you said it, but does it come with Carplay or Android Auto? As always, a fantastic review! I find myself watching just because you make every car seem THAT much more interesting! *I went back and watched it. I never watched the last five minutes (I got sidetracked by one of my dogs.🤦🏾♂️😩🤣). It does have Carplay! Awesome stuff! Thanks man! Keep the good reviews coming! 😁
I don't mind the iPad style infoainment systems as long as there is no glare. Some are designed better than others. That one on Lexus doesn't look too bad. The ones that come up really high and look stuck on im not a fan of
@Daniel Hernandez he means having the running lights also be the turn signals. Normally being white, and then turning orange and blinking as a turn signal.
I have a 2017 RX350 and it drives very smooth just like the one you mentioned. I think the infotainment system still looks old/dated even in the one that you showed. I agree the Lexus brand does look nice, luxurious and a reputation for reliability.
I dislike vents as much as you, but that zonk for the "fake" front vent may just be part of the design (not meant to look like a fake vent). What you all think?
I noticed that those lexus grilles look similar to the Infiniti grilles. Just larger Anyway I think the second row armrest is not usable while you use the usbs
Absolutely hate the iPad style infotainment screens that pop up from or sit on top of the dash. Hate ‘em. I prefer something like in the 2021 Touareg (wish that one would come back to the states).
Imo flat black plastic fender piece kinda ruin the luxury look of the car, not bad but without it I think it’ll look better. Great review as usual bud👍
STILL no second row climate controls! Bizarre at this level. As a chauffeur, I'm interested in the RX450HL, but the lack of second row climate controls is a major turnoff.
