@RpM_Evan Ł doesnt matter lol. It was intended to be a ripoff from the start thats why they hired the designer. The brand logo itself is another sole indicator of that
@RpM_Evan Ł it may have the previous Bentley designer on the team of designers but these at most have slight hints of Bentley looks and no way is there copying. Plus, these looks MILES better than any bentley. Sorry but Bentleys looks really stupid for the price XD like trying to make a modern version of a 1920’s car.
As a 2018 G80 owner I can tell you they are a wonderful car to own. The dealership experience could be better but that new one you just tested is such a beautiful car you aren’t going to care about the dealership.
Joe, you’re the best at noticing the little details that other guys don’t even bother with. The way that hood is engineered to meet the front grille is such a great touch where other luxury brands cut corners now.
I remember seeing one in my of these in my rear view last year and i was like “wtf is that?” It was an eye catcher, and this is in the middle of Los Angeles where you see so many different cars every day. I really might consider one of these for my wife when she needs a new car in a year or two.
Hyundai, kia and genesis are on a roll Honda has been sitting on their laurels quite lately and its costing them so much, Hyundai, Kia and genesis products are far more solid built and more desirable than Honda and Acura products now
Hyundai and Kia aren’t really doing anything special, there cars ugly and depressing to drive. Genesis though is a different story, this g80 is absolutely perfect.
Beautiful car! Size wise I like the G 70. The wheels look like jacks ( remember those). Thanks for sharing it Joe. Well done! Lori is killing it! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
Man this thing looks absolutely gorgeous With hyundai,Kia and genesis pumping out so much awesome cars that people actually want, why does Mitsubishi even bother staying in the us?
@Raschaud Farmer are you sure? Hyundai and kia sold over 600,000 units in the United states combined ove 1.2 million Hyundai and kia vehicles up from 2017 and 2018 Mitsubishi only sold around 120,000 units in the us,so how is Hyundai and Kia sales "low"
Joskj j I know right, how does Mitsubishi still exist? They don’t make cars for enthusiasts, and the cars in their lineup are so outdated and cheap, and their advertisements kinda suck, but they make somewhat safe cars I guess
@@carguyns4348 there commercials are so cringy I feel like modern Hyundai and kia is what modern Nissan and Mitsubishi should have been, and i agree Mitsubishis line up is old and boring, nothing for car enthusiasts
@@joskjj3625 exactly, Mitsubishi’s are so cheaper out, for example: when Doug demand reviewed the mirage, he was able to turn the steering wheel while the car was off😂🤦♂️
@@NYInsectFinders Yet so many people still aren't aware of this. Some relatives have expressed surprised I would buy a Hyundai/Genesis. Meanwhile, their mechanics drive their BMWs/Land Rovers almost as much as they do, and they paid 2x what I did.
Hyundai and quality shouldn’t be in the same sentence. Had a 2013 and blew the motor at 90k miles and my aunt bought a 2017 and blew the motor at 65k miles lol trash cars
I've owned my new G80 Prestige for about 180 days and have to tell you that in spite of looking great the build quality of the interior of the car is without a doubt CRAP. My 2017 G80 was a far better car. As a 3 time Genesis owner I have experienced build quality go from superb to very poor. By comparison to my 2017 G80 the interior is loaded with plastic that looks good but makes al sorts of snap crackel and pop noises as the car cools down after sitting in the sun and all sorts of creeky sounds that plastic makes when the body of the car twists while going over bumps or undulations. Worse, to quote a Genesis (Hyundai) Engineer who recently road tested my car, all the 20 some odd snaps crackles and pops I experience in the cabin of my new G80 Prestige are "normal" because of the large amount of (cheap) plastic parts used to construct the cabin. If normal means that the bulk of the 2021s sound like popcorn in a microwave then Genesis really missed the mark in building a "luxury" car. Driveline vibration and noise are also significantly worse than my 2017. I have been dealing with Customer service for nearly 3 months and find that customer orientation is not their purpose in life. Considering the fact that their mission statement is to exceed expectations one needs to wonder who's expectations they intend to exceed. My expectations were established by my 100k miles spent in two previous G80 variants, and I can honestly say that the 2021 doesn't come close to their quality.
Germans, did not the Lexus, because Lexus does not sell their cars on their looks but for their high quality. If, you try to appreciate a Lexus by its looks you should be in panic.
The Genesis is looking nice. Thst grill is still a bit head-scratching, though. Thanks for the awesome camera work, Lori! The two of you work so well together!
Joe, you are killing it with the new content. Keep it up, brother. I still hate that we missed each other by a day at the NYIAS in 2019. But at least we touched the same STI, so I feel connected, lol.
Hey Mike! It is crazy how close we were to meeting and then this year of course has been a disaster. Fingers crossed we can get these auto shows happening again soon. I appreciate you having my back! Happy Holidays!
This dealership is a few blocks from me and bought one car from them 6 years ago and still drive it today, hopefully one day i can afford this Genesis , awesome review as always
Drove this last Saturday In Canada where it lists for $75k and it was quite impressive to experience in person. Clearly they are copying Bentley, BMW and Mercedes in a lot of ways, but we get to benefit from all that! Joe, couple of other things... this also has soft-close doors, and allows you to use the key fob to start the car and have it move forward and back remotely. Great camera work as always Steady Eddie (I mean Lori).
joe, please dont ever stop reviewing cars man. you are genuinley such an interesting person to watch. and i love all of your food lingo, considering im a food lover myself! lol but keep up the good work. you will forever have a following from me!
If you look closely, the dual line headlights and the crest grille together make the Genesis logo. The logo actually has a meaning and purpose, unlike what it's compared to. I love the GV80 and G80 but I do wish the dual side turn signals stayed lit in white with the front daytime running lights until the turn signals were activated.
I think you do an awesome job explaining features... I have a suggestion though. At some point in your videos you should do a 360 walk around of the entire vehicle for viewers to appreciates every angle of the vehicle.
For the same $$$ you can have an F Sport ES 350 Lexus. Resale and reliability with the Lexus is where I would go. Genesis can't shake the stigma of Hyundai. It is a beautiful car, but not for me.
I'm not looking for bulletproof cars that can go 300,000 miles. I'm looking for a car what offers a nice blend of reliability and luxury. This G80 does that for me. Far more luxurious and opulent than the ES but a little less reliability.
Another great review! I feel that the genesis will be a top seller this coming year! It actually went to the top of my list behind the telluride and the mdx. As always the ON THROTTLE 🤣🤣🤣
Joe and Lori this seems like a HUNDRED K car! Geat all around.Looks wonderfu inside ad out.Cool lights on the side. The infotainment center is really nice! Interior is great! Love the sounds the engine make!!Lori, You are the best! Thanks for a great job on production!Genisis is COMING ON like a champion! Thak you guys See you on another ride RIDE ON!!
I like it. The rear looks a little like a Volvo sedan and the side light panel almost looks like a design element from the Chrysler Crossfire. The design is definitely pleasing to look at and the interior is luxurious!
Had a 2015 Hyundai Genesis and a 2018 Genesis G80. Both were good cars with a few weird issues, but there is no way I would consider returning to the brand until they get out of the Hyundai dealers. It’s really a disservice to the brand image.
@@fluffyres6107 well they aren’t for everybody. I just like unique rims. So far every car I’ve seen is that spiral looking rim. Nobody can’t make anything different
Car would look so much better, with a much larger grill. This grill is simply a bit too small Joe. The more I looked at it, the grill should be the entire front end.
Purchased the G80 Prestige. Have been a Mercedes or Audi owner for decades. Dynamic in all aspects....ride, power, technology stupendous. Sleek, sexy and meets my So. Cal. lifestyle. I find the contour of the seat cushion to be extremely uncomfortable. To firm and the tufts are not welcoming to the tush. Yes, I am a slender gal yet never have had this issue with prior cars. Friends agree it is noticeable. Have other's commented on this? Discussing with the dealership presently.
Wow, what a great looking car. Love the luxury angle they are playing. The vast majority of drivers want a luxurious ride with the occasional lead foot moment.
I was listening to one of the Reps on the design of the g80 apparently the emblem was incorporated into the grill and headlight designs where the lights were the wings and the grill being the Centerpiece ... Which I thought was cool attention to detail
That wheel design is super cool and unique. Suits the car nicely, although I feel like they should be a little bigger. I like everything about this except for the grill.
Really sexy car🖤🐆! I think it’s one of the most beautiful car today! If I would buy a G80, it would be exactly like this one (black exterior with the beige interior)!
That is a nice looking car (of course Lori's killer cam work makes it look even better). The Genesis has plenty of power and I love the idea of a AWD version. The interior is smokin' and that wrap around dashboard is a great design feature...especially with the 12" infotainment display. The German manufacturers need to watch out especially at $60K...it's like the Vette they cannot compete on price. Great review!
Hey Joe, Jose from Puerto RIco. here. Man! You're on a roll! Awesome review buddy. I don't remember if you did a review on the Mercedes Benz S-Class. Looking forward to that. I'm really diggin this channel. Just be careful with your blood sugar with all those twinkies.
Very good attention to details! (Look at the coolant reservoir markings) CLEAR!! They could have easily not used black marking and this tells me they know something about making cars.
I think the top end version is a great option if you just want to have one car that does it all AWD, powerful, good looking, technological, and not overpriced. A smart buy and a car you can be proud of.
This is what Lexus should have built as the next gen GS. This thing is sleek. I wouldn't have said this about genesis 4 years ago, but I am thoroughly impressed.
