Just bought a 2022 GT Premium and traded in my 2008 Charger that was a sweet ride. I am absolutly pleased with this Mustang, sounds great, runs great is comfortable and handles like a dream on curvy blacktop roads. This is my second Mustang, had a 1988 that was a blast to drive. BTW, I turn 79 in November.
Do resonator delete and put X/H pipe and delete mufflers and straight pipe it. Or get a mbrp exhaust. And if you really wanna make loud install Texas speed engineering headers 1 1 7/8s won’t regret it.
I’m a SUV guy but the only car I see myself driving is a mustang. I think they’re the best muscle car ever made mechanically and they have a very rich history.
Joe, thanks to your Mustang reviews, last June, I ordered my dream car: a '21 Mustang GT Premium PP1, 10 speed auto in Twister Orange, and got it by August. I couldnt be happier with my purchase! I was able to make an informed decision and went in knowing EXACTLY what I wanted. Thank you Joe and Lori for bringing these quality reviews to everyone. You've helped me and so many people, I can't thank you enough! Plenty of ON THROTTLE action thanks to you guys!🌪🍊😎
Excellent spec! I have ‘20 Mustang GT PP1 10 speed in Oxford white (knowing that I’d add blue racing stripes to it). Love it to death. If you want a 10 speed it’s the best way to option the car!
@Soviet Party Rock Anthem absolutely! I wanted a manual, but heard too many horror stories and just didn't trust it. I ordered my car for fun and reliability, not just fun. I want my car out on the road, not in the shop👍
@@battosaijenkins946 I have heard the Camaro gets the best MPG and Mopars get the worst with Mustang in the middle. If you want fuel economy get an ecoboost or 4 cylinder Camaro.
The GT is the beast but the ecoboost is one of the best values out there! 300hp RWD sports car with a manual for low to mid $20s? Hard to beat, especially in this insane market.
FACTS BRO , plus 300hp is totally fine if you ain't going to car meets (where they flex HP) , street racing , going to drag strips the car community act's like it's v8 or nothing.
I own a 2014 Mustang GT Premium with the Track Pack. 6 speed manual of course. In black. Which I ordered new. It has 8,000 kilometres on. No mods aside from a lowering spring kit and a tinting of the windows. It’s stored away for about 7 months per year. I’m recently retired ( police ), and probably have too much time on my hands, but I’m really liking the 22 Mustang GT. I would go manual with the Performance Pack. Very torn, almost ready to go for a new 22 Mustang GT. I also love the Challenger Scat Pack ( manual ), but have heard it tends use a lot of engine oil, not sure if it is in fact the case. Excellent review. Best automotive reviews on RU-vid or anywhere else. Cheers!
Just make sure you don’t do any mods to the engine or anything aftermarket that’ll potentially mess it up till the warranty is over. I know you know better. Im purchasing one rn as we speak getting the paper work done but got the 10 speed automatic
After 50 years I was hoping that this last year of the S550 was perfected lol. I got a 2022 Mustang GT premium and couldn’t be happier. I love it! It’s almost just like this one with carbonized grey. I already ordered a truck pop kit and a trunk mat. I get about 20-23 mpg in city and 27-30 on the highway. Of course that’s not driving aggressive.
Great video ! Love the Mustang ! Just bought a new GT California Special . I’ve had over 15 Mustangs since 1973. This is the best one yet ! The seats are the best part of the car . Very thick and so comfortable ! The independent rear suspension is a game changer . The car rides so smooth ! I am extremely satisfied !
I remember when this was shown for the first time everyone hated it and lord even said it looked like a Ford Fusion and a couple years later this thing has become one of the favorite designs.
Just picked up my 2022 GT Premium 5.0L. Carbonized grey with the blackout package and 401A upgrade.Took me 5 months to get mine. Worth every second of the wait. Amazing car!
I wish a million times I could have a car like this. I’ll never be able to afford something that expensive. So to the ones that can, you definitely should appreciate that you can…
Not many other people can afford the car so don’t beat yourself up.. people can afford a monthly payment it’s different 👍 and then have to hand it back so save up and buy something nice that’s yours
I rented this for a week. Yes they had a 2022 GT available. It sounded amazing! The power was definitely there. Its a great two seater. Really comfortable for what it is. Would not buy if you need to drive alot due to gas prices Also: the paddle shifter was really fun. One dislike is it prevents you from shifting too soon coming out of first then makes car jump going into second. But is definitely way better than the short shifting camry trd computer system
To anyone who bought a 22’ instead of a 21’ of prior. You will NOT notice that 10 HP and Torque deficiency… Trust me. That’s such a nominal Amount off of 460 and 420. You won’t even know it’s gone. Enjoy your Stang!
Excellent excellent review. You excel at the muscle car reviews. That computer chip joke was very funny. Love the color on this one. It's a great looking car. I'd have to change the spoiler. Excellent work young man!! Thank you Lori!!!
I own a 2021. GT with every option. It's a Convertable. I LOVE the Car. It's so much fun ☺️ to drive. The stereo is awesome amd thr optional exhaust system it awesome 👌 👏 👍
Great review as always! I think you could get the 10HP back with just an aftermarket air intake, wouldn't even need a tune. Definitely not a deal breaker for me. Still, I think I'll wait to see what the new Mustang is all about. Driving a modified ecoboost now, and with gas prices, I think I need to hold on this 4 banger a little longer.
Those eco boosts have some serious power bro. My friend has and explorer and that thing moves. Also my other friend got a eco boost mustang and it's way faster then the explorer. (Same engine bug weight differences
I may be just a little biased, but I love the mustang reviews 😉 Personally, although it wouldn’t have been a dealbreaker, I’m still glad I got a ‘21 GT prior to the 10HP drop for the ‘22 model year. Based upon the information that’s been made available so far, I’m not quite sure yet how I feel about the new redesign coming up. I tend to be a traditionalist so hybrid/AWD just doesn’t seem to fit the mustang nameplate. However, I will reserve final judgment until it actually goes into production. I’ve never been a fan of buying the first year of production of any redesign as it usually takes time to work out various “bugs”. Either way, I’m happy with my decision/purchase of the ‘21
As long as they give shoppers the option to choose a naturally aspirated V8 and RWD, and still keep it lightweight, it should be fine. It'd be incredible if the new GT came standard w/ the 5.2 V8 from the GT350 from a couple of years ago.
Same here. I'll probably never use the 460HP to the max in my 21 GT/CS but happy I bought it before the HP drop. Also got it with MT82 6 speed trans. Manual trans are also on the way out.
@@fordguy3032 I did the same. ICE V8’s with a manual transmission are a dying breed at this point so when I replaced my 86GT with the 21, that combination was a must. These gas prices lately though……
What a great throaty sound on the exhaust note with this beautiful GT! My thought, for those who want a GT, would be to go for it! Unless you're a collector for first edition or redesign models, this year's model should do the trick just fine with no regrets. Better the devil you know! At least, that's the way I would approach it.
The last model year the bugs have all been worked out. It's a matter if you want the new design and possibly some quirks or you can always wait for the 2nd year of a new generation.
Your reviews of the Mustang always make me go to the Ford website to Build My Own. Unfortunately, Ford won't allow me to build a Mustang the way I want. Gotta add or subtract packages to get stripes, wheels, whatever. Not a fan of that.
I have a 2018 Performance Pack 2 with the digital cluster premium. Shadow Black with Red leather seats and trim. With the digital cluster it's very easy to change the active exhaust I have. Two clicks. Great video as always.
What most people don't know is that these cars get way better mileage on the highway than what's stated. I typically get 27-29 mpg on the highway running at 75 mph. 2020 GT.
You can tie the exhaust level to the modes and pick your "my mode". I have mine set to the start in the quiet mode 24 x 7 and I have "My mode" as "track" the loudest. Beyond that I get sport exhaust in sport mode, normal exhaust in normal mode, track exhaust in track mode etc so it's not that much messing around in the menu once you do your initial setup.
Never been a Ford guy really and never would have owned a Mustang but this current gen I would definitely buy - this gen changed everything for me about Mustangs - beautiful design - sorry to se it go
Appreciate you knowledge and professionalism. Made the leap to the GT with all the bells and whistles! Not an NSX Acura but it WILL put a smile on the face and it is a Mustang after all. That sound! Thanks again for your help.
Not gonna lie, these cars look awesome but for me, I still have my heart set on the 2014 gt. I'm gonna wait until they unveil the new Mustang and if isn't to my liking, I'm going straight for either a 2014 gt with very low miles or save up a bit more and go for the gt500 with low miles as well.
@@austoncly3363 nice. I have seen ones for sale on offer up and marketplace but usually they have high miles. At least high for me. I tend to pay around 35-40k for one that has less than 10k miles. I know it will be hard to find one, even harder in black, but once I do, I'm going straight for the buy (after checking it with a mechanic tho)
I believe I sent you a picture of my I already made the choice I’m now the proud owner of a 2022 Mustang GT California special convertible with the performance pack that has magna ride active exhaust heavier duty sway bars and the whole bit and so far all it’s done here snow and rain LOL so all I did was ceramic coated’ and have it really driven it LOL! X are you also threw a performance chip in it which is supposed to bring it from 450 hp to 510 hp I haven’t put it on a Dino so I don’t know if it’s working but it definitely does seem faster.
Thanks for another great Mustang review. It's hard to believe that my 2017 Mustang is now 5 years old. I'm keeping it for now but am looking forward to your review on the 2023.
I can't think of why Ford would reduce power by 10, but I agree, I don't think one would feel the difference by the seat of the pants driving. Thanks for the video Joe!
OMG!!!!!! I'm so excited for this review. Also I totally love all ford products especially this one. Also this is my dream muscle car for sure. But great review joe.
Joe is picking on the fear of enthusiast, I totally get him! I usually get scared when a car reaches it’s last generation… You never know if the next version would be bad or not 😂.
It's funny how you mention Superman, seeing how the Mustang GT,not unlike this one,was a proto-Batmobile on the television series, "Gotham." In any event,my OCD butt would definitely get the 2022....
Actually,@@RaitisRides the Mustang wasn't featured in the recent Batman movie, but a television series called "Gotham." ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AVcRMh3T_rE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QQMk4e30eso.html
I seriously think tgat you should have your own Auto TV show. Youw can keep the conversation going for and hour of fun car facts and details. Specially enjoy the storage pockets descriptions to stuff Twinkies, fries, etc. That's pretty funny and definitely think you are the best and most entertaining car reviewer anywhere on any media. Keep up the good and fun reviews going 👍👍👍 Thank you
This generation has aged very well since 2015. People will call it dated I don’t care all I want is the on throttle action with a 6 speed manual. According to rumors and leaks there will be a hybrid v8 as an option. A hybrid in a muscle car is blasphemy but at least it’s not an ev so sigh of relief
Down 10 HP and down 10 Torque. Anyone considering this vehicle, do it. I had a 19 GT PP1 premium 6 speed in Triple black. I loved it so much I now drive a 21’ GT PP1 in Oxford White with Showstopper Red interior with the 6 speed of course. This car is amazing. For the $, it’s not just the best American performance car but for the $, it’s the best car in the world… you won’t notice any difference being down 10 HP and torque. That’s such a negligible amount. You won’t notice it. Trust me. If you are on the fence, BUY IT! You won’t regret it. Not to mention, this car with the Active Valve Exhaust sounds incredible. Best sounding car you can buy NEW today in 2022 under $100k.
Great Mustang GT and I think Ford did a dandy of a job but don't wait, these cars won't last forever and I think the next generation Mustang is a mistery.
I prefer manuals also but the 10 spd auto is actually faster than the manual. I remember it used to be the opposite back in the days of the old slushbox transmissions in cars.
They lowered the horsepower because of EPA requirements. But it’s easily tuned back to even more than the original 460 hp mines already been done lol! Matter fact I put a performance chip in the brought me up to 510 hp theoretically.x I haven’t put it on a Dyno and I probably never will because I really don’t care to have exact numbers lol!
@@Texas_C8 Yes they do go to Thornton performance and you will see they have three different chips one for a 20 hp gain one for a 40 hp gain and one for a 60 hp game and I think they will go in your car whichever one you want.
The Mustang is now the only non SUV non pickup vehicle that Ford sells in North America, after Ford pulled the plug on the Fusion aka Mondeo, Focus and Fiesta, including the ST versions of the Fiesta and Focus. I think cancelling the Focus ST and Fiesta ST in North America is a huge mistake.
add to that giving an electric SUV the iconic Mustang name still has some of us die hard Ford guys scratching our heads...outside of the S550, which I now am on my 2nd one of, Ford literally doesn't build anything else I'd want or buy. And I've bought Fords for 3+ decades.
I dunno about that. The current Gen handles pretty well. Not as good as a 6th Gen Camaro but if you know what you’re doing it’s a very controllable car.
@@hellraiserx9490 The mustang was never a muscle car in its entire history. Some muscle car characteristics≠what it actually is. The mustang was always a pony car since it came out back in 1964….1965 the release of the track capable Shelby gt350…and which now..the mustang has really transitioned into the sports car category with the s550 and upcoming s650.
MY GT IS COMING IN ON AUGUST 3RD 2022 CONVERTIBLE MISCHIEVOUS PURPLE 401A PCKG. Active exhaust, B&O sound system, and I went with the chrome rims.I SOOOOOO CAN'T WAIT ❣️❣️❣️ And I love, love, love your test drive videos, GREAT JOB, VERY INFORMATIVE ❣️❣️❣️❣️
Great review Joe, covered this Ford Mustang GT very well. Joe, your the only youtuber to say in the front door map pockets of this Mustang GT "you can fit a Hot warm slice of apple pie and a bottle of milk, and a couple forks" cracked me up. also cracked me up when you said leave a Twinkie by the shifter to give to your passenger. cracked me up
I just placed my order for a 2022 Mustang GT on May 5th. No ups or extras. It's basically a plain Jane car with a 5.0L and a six speed manual. How long is the usual waiting time in this situation?
Always great reviews Joe, and a great job behind the camera Lori. What a great car 22 Mustang GT, and great combination 5.0 coyote w/ 10r80 trans., yeah minus 10 h.p. but still great Mustang.
Wow that’s a good price for that mustang! I paid 63,000 for my California special convertible. And that sticker no dealer markup because if there was I would’ve walked
Had a 2020 GT. Hated cheap interior and crappy mt-82 manual transmission along with engine problems. Ended up totaling it. Was bummed out but a blessing in disguise I had the bbq tick and 2k rattle. Hopefully the 2023 has standard upgraded interior and addresses the issues from the gen 3 coyote and standard tremec manual transmission. I will definitely purchase 2023 if they do all of that. Nonetheless amazing review, I love watching your videos!
@@maga6319 I would not trade a mustang for a Camaro or any dodge product that’s not a hellcat. But even a hellcat is 61k plus just to lose to bolt on 10 speed 5.0’s is a no for me. Not saying I care what’s the fastest but I do love me good value.
Great videos!! Love the mustang videos especially,… GT is the only way to go for that mustang roar, that may disappear slowly in the future. Great shooting Lori 👍
Joe's Walker Ford! As Always very exciting Review from joe, ever since gas went up, my GT350 has been hanging out in the garage a lot, I hope they keep the same lines. The black pony is EPIC. Love your enthusiasm Bro
