I currently have a 2019 Jeep Compass Trailhawk and if I was looking a new SUV I would go with the 2022 Jeep Compass Trailhawk instead of the Toyota RAV 4 TRD any day!! My sister has a 2015 Toyota RAV 4 and I have ridden in it and I like the ride comfort in my Jeep Compass Trailhawk better!!
I gotta say, in my opinion, that there's no one out there that's been putting out quality and consistent car review vids as Joe and Lori have. Even though I have no intention of buying a car anytime soon, I definitely know now where I have to go when I do decide to buy a car.. And that's Raiti's rides. Here's to wishing Joe and Lori immense success.. ✌🏻 ON THROTTLE! 🚙
I don’t know enough to say anything but it’s a small car and if you love horse power track hawk and it’s a bigger Jeep too but thank you Joe and Lori great work!!
Welcome to Texas! Two inches definitely makes a difference 😂😂😂 you know we like it bigger in Texas 😂. All this gloss black ruined it for me on this one but overall is done tastefully for 32k. You need to try some brisket while you’re here!
@@youtubefan2909 the suggestive reference is how girls have a tendency to like guys with members that are longer.i'm keeping this as PG as possible cuz I don't want myself or joe to be banned.but inches and what you do with it.......
Great review, love coming to this channel for car info. Wife got the 2022 Compass Limited, amazing car! This exact dark grey trailhawk is what I’m eyeing! Thank you Raiti’s Rides!
I have a 2020 Compass, bought it brand new 2 yrs ago. But some idiot hit me on the freeway. So now it's at the collision Pl. Might be a total loss. But thinking of getting this. I love everything about the compass I have.
Thank you for a very balanced and detailed review. Truly, you have a way - a very nice way putting your bullet points!! Yes, in face a BIG YES - I will go with a with this vehicle. The specs as it is, is definitely more than good enough for me and the type of activity I am accustomed with. Thank you so much
The new compass has a updated version of the 2.4 that came out in 2007 and it’s bulletproof. The transmission is a ZF built 9 speed and ZF builds some of the best transmissions out there. This car will easily go 200k miles without a problem
I was looking for vehicle several months ago, of course I was very interested in the turbo Compass. However, at the time most all dealerships were into dealer markups and financing wasn't so good. I always lease vehicles and they wanted over 500 a month on a lease, I said NO way. This was indictive of many other vehicles like Hyundai, Kia, Ford you name it. The only one not doing this was Nissan, so I ended up with a Nissan Rogue for 380 a month. Fairly happy with it overall. Still would have liked to get the Compass, just didn't work out.
When you say $32K do you mean the compass trailhawk base model or the one you are showing in the video? Because the one you have looks to have the sun and sound group, trailhawk elite group, driver assist group 1, and the trailer-tow group. With all of that added isn’t the msrp $40k+?
I paid $40k, and I have the sun and sound and driver assist. I really wanted the tailhawk elite as well but there weren't any in my state nor the immediate surrounding states so I compromised.
I like what Jeep has done with the cabin, that was my biggest gripe with the 2021 Trailhawk. The one I rented for a week was very nice but the cabin was low rent compared to other SUVs. Lots of cheap plastics on the door and top of the dash, some of the switchgear felt outdated. I'm down with Jeep being tough and all but the cabin is where you spend all of your time driving so it should be a nice space. The front seats were roomy and comfortable though, and although not sporty it had a solid driving presence on the road. No road ripples or expansion joints would shake that ride! And, of course, it could go places my own CX-5 wouldn't dare (like a sandy beach near Wilmington, North Carolina). Now that the dashboard is modern and up to date, I'm really liking this Trailhawk!
Had a 18 compass it was nothing but a headache with problems and it was the most slowest thing ever to drive .. got a 21 rav4 and haven’t looked back since
I’d never buy a RAV4, they are junk. As someone that works for a Toyota dealer, I see them come in with so many issues. Electrical issues are the worst problem and it’s been causing them to not start or run at all without major fixes. In the awd ones, the rear differential has issues with the viscus coupler not getting enough diff fluid and destroying itself due to overheating and it’s been happening in all awd RAV4s since 2007. The engine is ok but it won’t go 200k miles. Toyota designed the engine to run basically maintenance free until around 150k miles but because of that design, the internal components (when the engine is torn down) look as if they have been used to 600k miles. Toyota also has a extremely long oil change interval which is stupid because every time I do a oil change on one, the oil is super black and very dirty. Toyota also likes to use a super small oil filter witch barely filters out anything. I could go on and on about all the problems they have. The last good RAV4 was the second generation in 2005. I’d rather buy the Jeep. Chrysler has won awards for reliability and quality pretty much every year since 2019 and Toyota hasn’t since 2009. For the love of all things holy, please stay well away from new Toyotas and either get a really old one or just get a Chrysler that you know will last. Only in 2017 and 18 did the second gen compass’s have issues but all have been fixed. I definitely know what I would buy and it wouldn’t be a Toyota.
This is my dream car……since I can’t afford to buy one for myself, yet…..I just keep sleeping for now…while active…so I’d be able to get one for myself….hopefully one day soon. It’s my favourite colour, too👍😃
Hopefully the 4xE version makes its way to the US Market ,from what I have seen and read it does make up that HP deficit 180hp vs 240hp for the 4xe models.
I love ya Raiti but no one compares a Compass to a Rav4. Compass always look good when new, but they are just not good cars as they age. This one does look nice inside i will admit.. but 5 years from now people will be wishing they purchased the Rav.
I always watch your reviews great Choice and cars that you review and I always love the Twinkies and ding dong comments that you say about the storage in the vehicles
@@sethjohnsonoutdoors4055 the only way for us to get rid of the bots is complain to RU-vid doing a terrible job not paying attention to it or reporting the comment
The 2023 finally has more horsepower. They finally replace the old 2.4 with a 2.0 Turbo with 200 HP. About time! Much better performance and a couple of MPG better.
It looks like they realised at the last moment that they'd forgotten to include an entertainment unit/screen. Quick, just glue it to the dashboard! Done.
Respectfully,Joe,you gotta stop apologizing for things that are beyond your control. And you should *never* apologize for the appearance of a Jeep that you've gone on throttle off-road. After all,a Jeep is hardly a Jeep without even the slightest patina of dirt on her skin.
Nice execution in design, in and out. Now, as to your question (rephrased): Which is better? The Toyota/Lexus, or the Jeep/Fiat/Chrysler? Man, that's a tough one!😆
i am very confused between 2022 mitsubishi outlander, hyundai tucson and jeep compass. i need best tech and safety features with sunroof kind of things atmost priority. Would like to know if there would be any significant difference in insurance prices of these depending on brand. Your personal picks and opinions are much appreciated! 🙏
I'm hoping Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge fine tuned that 9 speed transmission. My father has a Renagade with the same transmission. The issue he has with his is there is a buck when shifting from second to third gear especially when the its not necessary cold be just warming up.
Our 2018 Renegade hasn't had any bucking as you speak of ? The 9spd isn't your conventional transmission either it uses a dog clutch so it operates more like a manual transmission. It is a complex piece of engineering but like I said we haven't had any issues whatsoever.
I wonder if jeep will make a track hawk version of this SUV. they should definitely give us a sporty performance trim for all their SUVs in their lineup
I got an all new 2021 Toyota RAV4 XLE AWD since I’m a big fan of Toyota. I did car reviews of all new Toyota cars and I said if you want a full explanation of how to do an car review of all new 2021 Toyota RAV4 Camry or highlander I will have the video pop up on the right corner of the screen if you want to see more details with new cars and all that. I’ll explain the all new 2021 Toyota cars or joe from ratis rides can explain the all new cars as well.
Bought a 2020 Compass and it’s been causing me all kinds of electrical and engine problems. Please beware with this brand. I’ve learned my lesson and this is not a reliable suv. Definitely ready to get rid of it.
Sorry to hear that. How much oil does the engine consume between oil changes? With the crazy prices for both new and used cars, you might be able to get a good price for it. Have you tried CarMax to see what they would pay for it?
@@universalassociates6857 well I was told to get it changed every 3k miles and recently been told to come every 5k miles now for a change but I drive a lot so it’s more frequently. I got like 40k miles on the car and it’s crazy to me that I’m having so many problems for a 1 yr old car that I keep maintained pretty well. & yeah I saw the value for it and it’s a bit lower than I expected. So I know I’d have to roll in the extra on a new car 😵💫🥲
Was that the base price you quoted? I just bought one of these and MSR price after options was 36K and I didn't get many of the bells and whistles you have.
That is an added package. I have a 2023 and I don't have the heated seats or steering wheel. The panoramic sunroof and alpine speakers made up for the lack of butt warmers for me😂
Have any owners reported oil consumption between oil change intervals? There are class action lawsuits pending concerning other FCA vehicle model years with that engine.
I own many Chrysler products including a GC...I wanted to like this compass..but the quality is not there, and no power and poor chassis components, unlike my GC, the quality is 10 times better...I went with the Toyota Rav4 XLE Premium 205hp and high quality and reliability. The compass fails with reliability
Unfortunately the Dodge Journey was a leftover from the DaimlerChrysler merger days... We love our Jeep Renegade which is a platform mate to the Compass. I do feel your pain but honestly every manufacturer has built a bad vehicle here and there.
