I am very surprised it’s difficult for you to find someone to lend you a car, your style of car reviews is literally up there with Dougs, very wholesome and genuine!
Sadly its not about the quality of videos that car reviewers put out. If your name isn't really out there and you're just starting out, it can be really difficult to find cars to review. Doug said this himself in one of his q&a videos.
There is a center armrest with 2 cupholders and 2 wireless chargers in the rear seats. On the back of the middle seat headrest there's a button to release the seat down
I went from a Subaru STi to a Model Y Performance and have been loving it ever since. Been a car guy my entire life (owned over 40+ ICE vehicles) and these modern EVs are the real deal. One test drive was all it took. One pedal driving is such a game changer.
You’re a car guy and impressed by an ev and think it’s a game changer? Nah you’re just a commuter man. No character no style no sound it’s a giant boring rc car. purely for steering wheel holders.
My brother has this car. Took me for a ride and 0-60 was kinda fun in 2 secs ... then he showed me how fast it REALLY can go... and I gotta say, it went so fast it was actually getting scary... lol. When you look at the speedometer I was actually in disbelief how fast the car was accelerating.
thats the thing - 0-60 is a warm up, this thing shines 60-160 almost nothing out there outside of a built ICE or a Rimac will come close. hell the x walks a 992tts with 6 people in it! incredible machine
Your explanation of “be mindful with your steering inputs” is your version all the other RU-vidrs saying “this thing shouldn’t be street legal”😂😂😂😂😂😂 love it man
To me,the Dodge Charger Hellcat Widebody is the once and future king of performance sedans. This is merely the God of All Cars. As for the badge,as someone who fondly remembers Spaceballs, all I have to say is,the Plaid badge should be Plaid for when the Plaid goes plaid.
What about the upcoming dodge that's going to have the demon engine but not be as limited production and be able to run on e-85. Unofficially confirmed by dodge before they switch the Inline-6 twin turbo engine.
@@ericship8383 Depends if you include roll out or not. If you use roll out then it is 1.98 secs, if you use no rollout it is around 2.1 secs. Tesla is American so they use dumb American stats.
Have had the Plaid since October 2021...Got used to the Yoke in a couple of weeks. Love the minimalist design! Comfortable/Fast and easily a daily driver!!!
My coworker has this model and it feels so cheap! First the door handles get stuck (they don't pop up when using the remote). Second! The interior feels cheap like a 1997 Ford Explorer (plastic) It feels super light or unsafe. The good! IS FAST!!
Power and acceleration aside, it's really a beautiful looking car. It looks like a sexy bullet. I'm not a fan of the gear selection on the screen there. Not the most practical thing with the car Another great review Joe n Lori Always entertaining and informative 👍🏽
13:25 I like the friendly jab at Daddy Doug... Team Raiti might not have 5 million subs, but Joe's personality and Lori's camera work is right up there with the bigger RU-vid car review channels.. I'm subbed to like 15 car review channels, I watch 15 different channels review the exact same car lol
I love this channel. I'm sorry I haven't watched many videos lately but I remained subscribed. That line where you said you were coming for Doug while racing the game cracked me up.
My friend has a model S Plaid and it’s the only car I have been in that can match roller coaster like acceleration. I’ve been in a lot of fast cars and nothing has come close to the feeling this gives you.
Model 3 Performance is similar to ~60 mph. Model S plaid will keep giving you the same feel all the way to 120. It is nuts. Many people will end in jail and insurance will skyrocket on Plaid.
Wow!! This is one of the fastest All-electric cars out there and also I will be planned to afford one of these Tesla's like this someday. Overall, fantastic job and review Joe.
10:13 ❤ Love the Fast & the Furious 1 throwback. “I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bull$h1+. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free.” ~ Joe Raiti
I'm Nigerian and this car is my dream car TBH. I love everything about this car and all of Tesla as a whole. ❤❤❤and thanks to you Joe for this amazing in depth review, you always give me heads up in whatever I wanted in any car. Thank you so much, much respect❤❤❤
Interesting to hear your take Joe. Just took delivery of my model 3 performance and it’s insane. These cars are stupid fast off the line. Think the 0-60 is fast? Try cruising at 60, regen brake down to 30 and hit it, the 30-90ish pull is insane.
@@RaitisRides just 2 errors. 1. back seat has an arm rest. it even has wireless chargers big enough for two phones. 2. Elon is a founder please. He's explained it so many times, last time with JB himself.
When I saw this pop up, I was like, "Oh Stop! He Didn't!" Like you would actually and finally get your hands on a Plaid. Then I was totally enjoyed by this.
The standard S is one to get. The plaid isn’t worth extra $. Unless you just don’t care. The wait times are crazy. If you order one today, any S. Won’t see it until next year. Like Jan-March.
@@Bb-br3xg Yeah plaid will get quicker, they always put more $ model or optioned cars ahead of others. But you are not the first I’ve heard of people switching from Plaid back to the standard car.
when I had my order in I could have gotten one right off during Covid. Not at all true until lately, and Elon honored prior lower pricing that I put in for
@@02hreblue30 Yeah at that time could of got fairly quick. Things got progressively worse as time went on. It’s at its worst timing now if in need the car in a few months.
Total beast of a car. I have driven one of these and it’s mind blowing and gut busting. Tons of fun. Thanks for bringing it to us Joe and Lori. Great stuff!
It looks great in the black paint. Personally I whould change the rims to something different to match the car . Also the new steering wheel is a no go for me since it whould take some time to get use to.
For some people who prefer one handed turns/maneuvers with the wheel (palming) the yolk is very easy to get used to and actually kind of fun to use. It also looks and feels cool/novel. I was able to get used to it on the first day. My girlfriend on the other hand...she's one of those that sits very close to the steering wheel and does the hand over hand turns with the wheel so she absolutely hated the yolk at first. We got it for her to use as a daily driver to and from work so she's gotten used to it.
I love the clean exterior of the Tesla model S plaid …. Its the interior that doesn’t do it for me so boring … thanks joe I always wait for 530 to roll around … eat dinner and watch Raitis rides 😎
It’s supposed to be simple and light when you make it too complicated too heavy won’t be preforming good on the battery after all remember this is a battery electric car supposed to be simple Tesla is doing it smart it has everything you need in that screen
@@SME5724 I would not even spend 100k if I had on this never if I wanna save money and buy electric car I would buy Huyndai iconic 5 or whatever it’s called or basic Tesla model s or 3 then makes sense but my point was they made it this way because it’s electric car doesn’t require much inside since it’s controlled by simple computer and yes it’s boring as hell I like gadgets too cars with things I can touch and press but if they put too much things it won’t have enough battery to last longer at least for now I’m sure in the future when they find better way it will be like a regular car but if you think about it now days even gas cars are controlled by one screen some cars models have screen and you do everything from the screen I just don’t understand either buying this car for 180k Canadian when I can buy Mercedes Benz s class s63 for that much or less if I’m rich have money to spend on this then I’m not buying it to save money for sure it’s just for speed and I personally don’t like electric cars for speed I like gas engines where I feel the car when I’m in sport mode and hear it It’s not for me either for sure unless I’m buying one for under 50k to save money on gas or repairs anything after that is just to me someone who has extra money and want to have it I can buy bmw m550 fully loaded almost 600 hp comfort and sport around 100k Canadian
Hey Joe, Jose from Puerto Rico. Finally! Finally! I saw you in a Tesla. I really enjoyed this one. Man, that thing is a beast. I don't think it's advisable to have any Twinkies in that car, because with that acceleration, you're gonna have cream all over the place and if you've eaten one: cream on your frontal lobes🤣
They are E-segment vehicles like the Tesla Model S Plaid, but the M550i, Audi S6, Mercedes E350 and Lexus ES350 have less power than the Tesla Model S Plaid. The Lucid Air is over 1000hp like the Model S Plaid, but the Lucid Air is more luxurious.
Hey Raiti, great review. I never driven an electric car yet, but I wanted to ask you a question. Which Electric vehicle is better, The Tesla Model S Series or Ford Electric models (any)?
Yup and once you add tires, trim, paint and FSD you are between 150 and $160,000.00. Don’t forget, you now also have to pay for your wall connector too.
It would’ve been nice to have the choice of which way to change gears. Now that Elon’s not buying Twitter maybe he can work on making these more affordable. Thanks Joe and thanks to David for allowing you to review it. Thanks to Lori also for her great work! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸 I couldn’t help but laugh when you showed the key fob and it looked like you threw it out the window 😂
You do have the choice!! The guy in the video made a few mistakes with the car, if you tap on the gear selector hard enough it will illuminate and you can access your gears from there!
@@JoshTheFrosch07 In Doug DeMuro’s video he says the the same that Joe said so unless you have actually used the buttons when the screen is still working, I’ll have to go with what the two reviews stated.
@@LS1007 I have a Model S Plaid, you can use the gear selector under the wireless charge ports. Press and hold for about 2-3 seconds and it illuminates 😉
Great video again Raiti! I love your enthusiasm. The Tesla's are pretty fun to drive. If possible, could you put the speeds (or approximate speeds) on the screen? I think the experience as a viewer would be next level!
I don't trust a car that doesn't make noise. 😀 Great review, cool car for sure. The acceleration is amazing and really shows what can be done with these electric vehicles.
Such a good review. I'm picking one up next Saturday and you touched on a point that nobody else has yet. To BE CARFUL in this car. To really know how fast you are going and to practice driving it. I had not thought of this and because of this video I will take the time to get to know the car before really getting on it. Thank you💪🏼
Yes it is the king, this thing is quicker than supercars like the Bugatti, for a fraction of the cost, insane what the difference is between electric and gas
My friend I was waiting so long for this video haha. You did a great review. Of course a bunch of cool features impossible to mention in a video but definitely a great car. A little bit expensive in my opinion. Now you have to find a Lucid one to compare :)
In terms of straight line acceleration, this Plaid is stupidly fast and I love the design on this one no matter what color it is. Teslas just straight up rock!
@@VinsanityB7 different tax bracket indeed. I’m at the top 10 percent of makers. Here’s some advice, loser. Invest in Hawaii property and turn it into a vacation rental. Try Oahu (which you can’t afford, guaranteed), or at least Big island in Kona. There, I just did more for you than conman muskrat will ever do.
YES Defiantly the plaid is the king of all performance cars for sure for many years to come !! Also it is very very practical roomy and most important looking slick beautiful !!
Although one can appreciate the engineering behind these vehicles, Teslas have some of the most bland, minimalist, unimpressive interiors in the auto industry. That aside, very cool video 😎👍
To each their own but I actually prefer my plaid interior to busier interiors. The seats, materials, and build quality are significantly improved compared to my prior model 3 performance and I have yet to see a car with a better display/infotainment screen. However, it is definitely lacking in the ambient lighting and massage seats department and I would prefer slightly more seat bolstering. But even with those deficiencies I often find myself choosing to drive my plaid over my range rover SVA. It's almost as comfortable in the drivers seat (albiet not as "commanding" of a view) but more fun to drive.
@@ak2pacalypse Fair enough, but I prefer the old adage that a car's interior should be inviting and interesting. Tesla's is just a giant iPad and IKEA minimalism 😉😁
@@teop7887 Yeah, it's just a matter of personal preference. No one can be right or wrong here. But I do believe a lot of people knocking the interior of the plaid or even the other tesla models have never ridden in one, let alone driven one. Out of the cars ive owned and driven, I feel like the tesla is certainly the most interesting and most technologically advanced. Even in a super luxurious car such as a rolls royce or bentley, the interior stops becoming interesting as soon as you've owned it for a little while and the driving experience is just kinda meh.
The Tesla Model S Plaid is one hell of a machine. It outperforms everysingle performance sedan out there and takes the crown of being the king of performance sedans. It's so fast that it even embarasses some supercars off of the line. Although two seconds seem fast, the Rimac Nevera takes the crown for the quickest production car to get to 60 mph. It does it in under two seconds! All in all, what an amazing review. Keep up the great work Joe.
actually wrong its faster than EVERY super car.. INCLUDING the Neverra.. they claimed its 0.5s faster. but when you look at the youtube clips of people testing 0.60.. the Neverra is 2.26s to 60.. plaid is still faster.. so as of now there is zero production car EV or otherwise that is faster... its truly alien tech..
Not all 22 models got that change, it was done part way through the year. By the way Tesla does midyear model changes all the time so just because you see a different type of headlight tail light or whatever it doesn't mean it's a distinct change in a model year they don't operate the same way that other manufacturers do.
Talk about long in the tooth and due for a redesign. Great review, thanks for bringing this to us (and showing us it’s still boring other than the 0-60).
