I can confirm this! I just about shat when he mentioned rubbing when turning right because I thought I was the only one. I have the 2023 ZR2 and it rubbed from factory bought it with 200 miles on the odometer, took it in and although its 33in vs the bison 35in tires the right side was rubbing on the brake line! they had to order and replace the whole right side brake line! unbelievable. but all is good now and I am loving my truck. No regrets- No more rubbing - also only ever rubbed when fully tilted clockwise.
Man. Traditional OEMs are really stepping up the game here! Both the new Colorado and the Tacoma are really really good offerings. So hard to choooosee! Uggh! I really wish we had those seats with embedded shocks from the Tacoma in the Colorado! That’d just seal the Colorado for me.. looks on the Colorado are just drool level
I have been on the fence between the new tacoma and the higher trims canyon/colorado. I am sure they are all great trucks. I just wish they have a natural 6 in them.
Well, my Jeep Gladiator (Rubicon) has a natural 6...and that's one reason I like it. Nothing turbo, 4cyl or V8 for me -- a N-A 6cyl is fine. It seems Chevy really improved the Colorado ZR2 starting with the 2023 model...makes it way more competitive to the top-model Gladiators. -- BR
The low end punch of a turbo is fun to drive but I'll take a NA V6 myself also. I have a 16 Canyon 3.6 6 speed. Fantastic butter smooth power train and better mpg than they are advertising now.
@@thomaslehmann5981 Well, my V6 Pentastar (Generation 3) and 8-speed transmission (850RE) isn't quite "butter smooth" as your Canyon but like you I'll take it anyway over a 4cyl/6cyl turbo. Well, I kind of HAVE to as I signed the sales contract and the Jeep dealer (in Castle Rock, CO) wouldn't take it back! ;-) Just kidding...because I DO like my Gladiator, and it's STILL fun to drive going on 3 years now (and 4 long 3-state road-trips) whenever I need to go out somewhere for some reason. Or, for absolutely no reason at all. ;-) -- BR
Rubbing w factory tires? Sounds like poor engineering... will they replace those $200+ tires for free under warranty? Still running leaf springs? Interesting design choice...
Must be something else going on. The entire suspension was retuned and they put bigger fender flares and wheel liners on as well. No way GM would let these things be sold with rubbing at lock.
I thought the same. As an owner of a 23 Canyon AT4 with 295/70r17’s with 2”Front- 1”Rear lift, those 295/70’s (33.3”) tires are the biggest I felt comfortable going without a full suspension upgrade. No rub at full lock in the front but really close when fully stuffed off-road in the rear. Still extremely happy with the truck, and love seeing these upgrades in the midsize segment.
This is the better buy, Tacoma is expensive and cramped, the ranger is powerful but worse MPG and The Bison has more back seat space, it’s A inline 4 so better mileage, but the interior is the least progressive and the spare tire doesn’t fit in the bottom has to go in the bed where it will be stolen immediately.. all 3 of them look great, Tacoma looks the best but bison and ranger are fire too.. it comes down to Mileage and space for me
Correction. The ‘24 Tacoma TRD pro does have fox bump stops. And they will be available to be installed to lesser models because the design in the frame and A arms allow for it. Please correct this.
🤣😂... in order of purchase. 1. Taco Supreme 2. Nissan Frontier 3. Ford Ranger 4. Honda Ridgeline 5. carpool 6. Mountain bike 7. E Scooter 8. Bus 9. Walking 10. Crawling . .... NEVER A CHEVY POS!
It would of been a no brainer if GM decided to build a Turbo V6. I just cannot get over the lame sound of that I4 Turbo engine sounding like a civic. I ordered a Ranger Raptor for that reason.
Only the Canyon/Colorado get rear vents for passengers. Only the Tacoma and Canyon can equip a moonroof in their top trims (Colorado ZR2 Bison AEV can't have one, and none of the Ranger trims come with a moonroof). On their configurators in top trim, the Ranger Raptor seems like the value option somehow at ~$60k. The Chevy was ~$63k, and the GMC at a whopping ~$73k. No clue on Toyotas pricing as the top trims aren't live on their site yet. Offroad I'm sure all of them will be super impressive. I hate the big tire in the bed of the Chevy/GMC. Does the 34.5" tire not fit underneath?
I’m deciding between trd pro Tacoma and a ranger raptor. Leaning to the Ford because of the v-6. The Tacoma is tempting because I know it will last the longest. I do like this zr2 bison as well but I’m set on the ranger raptor.
Why do you know the Tacoma will last the longest? Have you seen the recalls on them the last few years? More than the Colorado. Its not the 90's anymore different generation makes and models aren't the same and just because older certain year Tacomas were reliable doesn't mean this new gen with new parts and manufacturing will be.
Yup it's a win for the whole 5 minutes you'll try to rock crawl with it once a year but come back to the real world and enjoy filling up on gas every 4 days cuz it's not efficient, your pocket will not thank those Bidenomics.

So it was quite rare :p still bugged my ocd enough to take it in.
Nope sorry Chevy or Gmc you don’t make trucks like they use to. Toyota!I go for reliability, longevity I want to spend time enjoying my truck on the trails not at the dealership 🤷♂️
@@rickmontelongo4230These are the same comments I seen on the Silverado’s. I had one that I purchased new for 7years and not one issue. Yes 7 years is not that long but not that bad.
So you got rid of the v6 option for gas mileage and emissions. You presented us a 4 cyl turbo that gets the same 16mpg my v8 gets… For that reason I’m out. The Tacoma hybrid is offering 24/27mpg. You’re not even competing at this point.
The Tacoma is one gen away from becoming a unibody. Guarantee they will be the first to switch the Tacoma to a unibody and try to sell it like it is the premium option
I love what they did and this truck looks amazing, but rubbing from the factory? I mean come on that's ridiculous from Chevy. They should have hashed out those issues in the design smh.
They did not change the gearing for the larger tires. That's why it doesn't pull as well as the ZR2. IMO it should be re geared for the 35's. I don't care if it rubs at full lock. It's only at low speed when you can feel it easily and no harm done.
I'll keep my v-6 Frontier pro 4 x. Turbo charged 4 cylinder engine will not make it to 500,000 miles like my V6 3.8 liter 310 HP frontier. I gave 32,000 dollars for my truck but some guys love to brag about how much money they have. Just because you have money doesn't mean you have to donate it to car manufacturers.

7:00 Doesn’t impact rear visibility too much??? Only impacts 80% percent of it 🤯 I love the truck though, I got a Colorado Trail Boss for 20k plus less, all I need is a lift and some ZR2 wheels and tires and I’m happy, I allready have the 430# torque calibration, I am not willing to pay 60k plus for this truck!
Bigger tires are a tough call if 90% of your driving is highway. You'll always lose acceleration, fuel mileage and performance with a larger heavier tire.
How is this even a comparison one is the newest generation the other one has not been updated for 13 years. It is a shame the rear suspension is leaf springs after all the cool updates they did with the truck.

You forget that the shocks on the seats were tested extensively on Baja racing trucks first. 2 different models. It's not a gimmick. It's also weight-based, so more precise than any bump stops are going to be. Meanwhile, on the TRD Pro, you get 3-way adjustible Fox racing shocks, which are tried and true. On the Trailhunter, you get even better OME shocks which can take much more weight reliably.
I'm wondering if after you buy one of these $60k Colorado's you're going to "full send it" just to test the reliability of those bump stops lol, let us know how that works out.
I agree. I’ll never buy a new Chevy. My work truck was a fresh off the line 2024 Silverado, and it was riddled with problems and mechanical issues after a year (~15k miles). I handed my boss the keys and went back to using my old F-250
I went looking for a 4x4 truck in 2020..I looked at the colorado and the Tacoma. I didn't want a full size truck..The tacoma at the time, had a plastic bed..rear drum brakes.. and instead of a locking differential, it had a computerized braking that applied the brakes to which ever wheel was spinning.. Kinda defeats the momentum you need to get you up a hill or out of a mudhole...Plus the taco was about $6k more expensive. So I bought a new 2020 Colorado WT. (V6).$31k OTD 30k miles on it now... It had to have the trans flush at 6k miles.. So far (knock on wood) it's doing ok..
Pretty Nice. However, if Jeep would just put the new SST hurricane engine in the Gladiator it would be class leading. It is like Jeep are intentionally sandbagging the Gladiator and killing it. It is the best midsize off-road centered pickup in every way except it's powertrain. The old pentastar v6 is just underpowered and uninspiring in that heavy of a vehicle.
Chevy really needs to update the interior to compete Ford and Toyota. Interior is bland steering wheel.. they've been said to have a lot of problems with the instrument panel as well.
I'd take the Taco every time. More reliability. More horsepower. More torque. You can get a factory lift, which makes 35s doable. You have aftermarket parts available from the factory because of the partnership with ARB. You get an electronic rear view mirror which ties into your trailer and can be used without having to look at your trailer on the camera. Best part? You don't have to see a maxi pad on steering wheel the whole time. edit: oh yeah, and no rubbing. If your foot is off the break and you're not in park, you actually move in the Tacoma! :D I think you can haul something like 1700lbs in the Tacoma too. So like 700lbs more. With all the goodies on the truck. Something like 6500lbs towing too.
@the5gmartian331 mechanic for 25 years now.....toyotas break just as much as everybody else. And the new colorado can come with 35's from factory. The Tacoma used to be great, but ever since the Tacoma became a mid size truck it's been under powered garbage
Id take the toyota just for the name all the rest is just a bonus. The offroad package on the bison is also not inspired or unique to chevy its AEV package by australian overlander company.
@@youtubecantsaveallthesnowf8601 .The recent 3 gen has been neutered since 2016 with the wack ass 3.5 and transmission platform but i think this 4 gen is going to be good truck.
If I had the money I'd buy the gen 2 version of this. They need to get rid of the leaf springs, have a rear mounted tire like on the jeep with a swing mount, upgrade their cameras, include a winch, work on the tire rubbing, higher HP, update the electronics.
You said they Bison is the only one coming on 35's from the factory. The raptor has nearly 100 more horse power. I'll take 33's and 100 more horse power from the factory.
