Is the 2024 Honda CR-V a BETTER compact SUV to BUY than a Toyota RAV4? 

It was good is the key word. New CRV feels worse than those 20 years ago. I had one and I loved it bigly. This one is so behind the times, I just feel sad. It is not worth 38k MSRP, but people keep buying them.

I agree! One of the most reliable engines ever. What if they put the 2.0 turbo in this CR-V? I'd buy one today! I know that's why Acura has the RDX, but just a thought.

@@titaniumspecial4207it really does not matter. I had an Accord with 2.4 liter, it made around 160 hp, but it was so much fun to drive. This new CRV lost all of that. It does not drive fun, interior is so cheap it feels worse than Korean cars. I hope Honda comes back at least to what they used to be 20 years ago.

Using both samsung and iphone. Both have same problem. Tried everything that i could but didn’t work

I've never had that happen once.

Is that covered under warranty?

I wish it would drive like a Honda, but it does not. It drives like an appliance, the screen inside is straight from 1995. I miss the old CRVs that actually drove sporty with that familiar iVTEC sound.

Just a minor point, but that’s not a hatchback.

Both are irrelevant and on their way out after BYD starts selling their cars here.

@@00_UU That's not going to happen anytime soon considering our relationship with China. Plus, it would be much more expensive if they sold it here, killing their biggest selling point.

@@ced.ricooo why would it be so much more expensive? We have free trade agreement with Mexico, BYD is already building a factory in Mexico and Mexican labor is very cheap. EVs do not need many parts, so assembly is way cheaper than ICE cars.

Rav4 looks better and the Nissan rogue includes more and it's nicer inside.

@@WendyDuran-z7l RAV4 is extremely narrow up front. CRV has way more space. Rogue has a horrible Jatco CVT.

Out of curiosity, why do you say that Toyota needs to redesign the Rav4? The current generation Rav4 STILL offers more features than the "new" generation CRV, along with providing more power & better fuel economy in the standard gas model & the hybrid model.

@@sawyermartin4434 if you sit in the drivers seat of new RAV4, it is much more narrow than current gen CRV. But if you are smaller it does not matter much.

Why? I have them and never use them. New LEDs are very good, no need for fog lights

@@00_UU you can always install fancy aftermarket screens. the crv and rav4 are at the very top when it comes to reliability and resale value. it would be foolish to pass on them just because you don't like the infotainment screen.

@@jeschr3462 not only the infotainment. New CRV rides like an old Toyota - heavy, numb and uninspired. CVT probably has a lot to do with it, but I tested the Hybrid and it is so so much better than previous CRV Hybrid that handled a little better, but acceleration would be completely gone after first 2 seconds of flooring it. I drive my cars for a long time, so resale value is somewhat unimportant to me. Also paying extra 5k over MSRP for an inferior vehicle vs cheaper and much better MSRP of the competition just so I can sell it for extra 2k in 7 years? Nope.

​@00_UU Relax with the ridiculous comments about the head unit. I don't care for most Honda products either, but you've completely discredited yourself with that nonsense. You know as well as anyone reading this that the head unit in the current CRV is *mostly* par for the course for the segment. It is smaller than some, but has largely the same functionality. Head units in in 1995 certainly didn't have snappy touchscreens, wireless CarPlay or Android Auto, or vehicle function integration. I understand the point you are trying to make but all you're doing with the hyperbole is painting yourself as an absolute moron.

Exactly. New Honda feels so outdated, I keep saying it, but most people probably don't even try to test drive the competition. The only Honda that is very modern is the Prologue, thanks to GM.

That seems like a strange comparison. That was a tiny two door. This is a five seater with a big back seat and tons of cargo space. The fact that they get similar mileage does show how much things have improved.

Yes I have a cx5 turbo and love everything about it just wish it was bigger the crv is good looking just wish it had more hp and a heads up display but I need more space so I might have to go test drive one.

Did you drive new Buick Envision? CRV used to be the benchmark along with Acura MDX, those days are gone.

I easily break 40 in the FWD hybrid without even trying in much warmer North Carolina.
