Is the 2024 Jaguar XF a BETTER luxury sport sedan to BUY than a Genesis G70? 

Hey Joe, the Jag XF isn't a compact luxury sedan. It's in the midsize segment, therefore it competes with the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes E Class, and Genesis G80.

Mine is a 2017 XF S that is moments away from hitting 100k on the odometer. I sold it in March because I was changing jobs and needed a more practical vehicle, then missed the car so much I hunted the VIN for a few months until I found it on a lot and went on a "cat rescue" to bring it back home. The 2.0 absent the six cylinder supercharged option I have in the 2017 is a dealbreaker. Either way, this is a phenomenal car I have truly loved. Jaguar had a winner in 2016 and they've had a hard time figuring out how to improve the interior - the infotainment now is a tacked on tablet that looks fine, I don't see many serious changes from models earlier in the post-2016 XF. The Jaguar dealer network has been absolutely wonderful. I've needed very little to get it to 100k, dealers in Chattanooga, Huntsville and Tampa have all been 10/10. Jag's future may be all-electric, but I'll be maintaining my 2017 XF at my local Jaguar dealer for the rest of my life.

It's funny but what killed it for me wasn't the engine, missing tailpipes, no it was the bare metal shown when you opened the trunk on a 65K vehicle. Not the one😂 Great review Joe, LOVE THAT COLOR!!!

Interior is fantastic. Color is honestly one of the best I've seen. Jaguar reputation and the 2L I4 are what kill it. This will be a no. An XF-R with a 6 or 8 and I'd be more tempted but ultimately still wouldn't buy one because Jaguar.

I see a lot of people in the comment section don't like the car. I have a 2019 Jaguar XE. I've never received so many compliments in my life on a car. Ive noticed that you get way more features also than other cars for the same price. I looked at BMW,AMG Mercedes, G60,70,80, and Lexus.For the price Jaguar flat out offered more. Most of those other brands don't even offer a moonroof as basic. To each their own, get what makes you happy.

This is one of the best values in luxury sedans, good looking and driving. Reliability is a gamble though.

That interior looks VERY classy. It's the future maintenance that is daunting

The XF's with the big V8's were peak Jaguar. Even the base was an amazing car to drive. Hopefully once it becomes electric they bring back the fun.

This is a very sexy car, the interior looks amazing but I think the G70 offers a lot fot the money.

This generation has been around since 2015 but still looks nice. jaguars cars have always been elegant and classy

I got the 2023 P250 RWD... Performance is quite adequate for me both around town and on the freeways... Didn't get the green, but got Black w/ carroway interior... Very comfortable vehicle to drive... I've owned Mercedes, Cadillac, Acura, etc... This Jag stacks up with the best of them quality, comfort, and trim wise... Quite limited production so getting the vehicle equipped as you prefer may be difficult... Nice that they included 5 year free maintenance and warranty... Once Jaguar goes to all electric in around 2025, it will be difficult to find ANY Jag for under 100K...

Would love to see the Acura tlx ,Lexus IS , G70, 3series, C class ,Audi s4,Ct4,Volvo s60 and maybe the q50 lined up agaisnt this one day

Nice review. I also have this car (Firenze Red). Had a previous (20120) XF with V8. Also have a 2017 XE with wonderful Supercharged V6, so the 4 cylinder is a step down. it is also a mild hybrid, but I don't understand what that does. Would have been easy for them to just CONTINUE the V6 in this refreshed model. Anyway, performance is fine. There actually ARE dual exhausts, but they are hidden behind the diffuser, probably because they are small and look a little puny. Anyway, it is a nice car and probably the last ICE Jag sedan, and the price point is good (they will be going upscale when they go electric). Drives very well. Was good to see this review as this car is almost forgotten, and pretty hard to find these day. Would have been wonderful with the supercharged V6, but they are not going to make any more changes, as this may be the last year.

Enjoyed the video. I have the same car also in British Racing Green but it's a 2016 version with red/black interior. The BRG really pops in the sunshine but we get less of that here in the Emerald Island (Ireland). The interior of the newer car looks fabulous. My car has Active Dynamics (electronically adjustable shock absorbers), so you can firm up the suspension if you want using Configurable Dynamics. I am surprised that feature was not in your test XF: did you look for it? Handling is sweet in my car, you can really enjoy cornering with literally laugh out loud fun for driver AND passenger. Jaguar hid the exhaust pipes on the latest XF as a step towards the future of electric Jaguars. Electric is promising for performance. I had a Jaguar I-PACE BEV out on 24-hour test and that thing could fly! However, the big difference between my XF and your test car is this: instead of the 293 bhp 4 cylinder turbo, mine is the XF S which has the 375 bhp v6 Supercharged. 0-60 in 5.1 seconds (a friend got 4.9) and just so much better. If you get the chance to try the XF again, look for the Configurable Dynamics option on the settings. Have fun!

Jag is about to totally reinvent itself next year. I just hope they keep the things that made them "Jaguar": the fantastic leather, wood, carpet and general materials quality. The handling that only Porsche and BMW are in the same league. The sound----well the sound is gone forever, nothing they can do about that. 2 outta 3 aint bad...

The tragedy here is that these are beautiful cars, deserving of the supercharged V6, which was a great engine. A Jag with a four-pot is not a proper Jag.

Still one of the nicest looking luxury cars out there, but not as nice as they used to be. The XJ about 20 years ago, while a mechanic’s special, was a gorgeous car, but everyone’s afraid to get tagged as the “old man’s car” so instead of improving mechanics, they made the car look more ordinary, nixed the XJ model and we’re left with the XF, which is still a nice car comparatively and a soft ride, which is rare these days, but I can’t say I trust the brand yet in the mechanics department. It’s hard to find a car now that doesn’t look sporty or doesn’t try to be like every other car on the road. The front end is a total let down compared to the early 2000s XJ’s. From a distance, it looks like a lot of other cars. A Jag should stand out. And these 4 cylinder non hybrid engines in luxury cars are embarrassing.

Hope they can bring the XJ back. I have the XE and love it but bigger saloon would be dope! XF isn’t cutting it.

Thanks for doing this one Joe. I have this exact car except for interior aluminum finish, in place of the wood. This car is the best kept secret in the sedan market. I didn't want a sports car, I wanted a GT car that's a little sporty and this was the right fit. I never want for power, I'm getting 36 on the highway and 26 in town. The mild hybrid does a great job with the gas engine. Happy to say, I've driven the car in every type of situation you can imagine and had no issues, just regular servicing. It's very comfortable to drive and has a very useful trunk and folding seats. I'm sad that this is probably the last year. She is quite a looker and heads turn every time I drive her.

I would for sure check this car out if I were to lease a new midsize luxury sedan as it's still one of the best looking sedans IMO despite it's age & the interior updates that were made a few years ago were a huge improvement, but 4-cylinder only is a huge let down & an easy pass on this car for me. I gotta have at least a 6-cylinder especially for a luxury vehicle.

If the paint has any metal flake in it it is technically called Jaguar racing green not British racing green and you can refer to the leaping Jaguar as just the leaper

terms of reliability there’s no comparison. G70 is much better than Jaguar XF and G70 win all the way

Don’t get this. Get the new Alfa Guilia Veloce it has the new digital tac, new matrix LED headlights. Amazing car and is 0.7 seconds quicker than this (5.3 seconds) plus the handling is phenomenal. Not to mention it’s over $10k cheaper.

So sad they forgot about the V6 and V8. Almost like they forgot what jaguar is all about. Would have rather they discontinued the diesel and 4 cylinders. Perhaps my 2018 Jag fpace S will be my last.

That logo over the speedometer would make a nice window sticker or hat /jacket patch. The decal should be made so that it sticks on the inside. Outside = ice scraper wear & tear.

Major depreciation after 5-7 years. Problem after $$$ problem with Jags. I'll stick to my Mazda 6 2021 carbon ed thank you.
