I just bought one! It’s a great compromise car. You get a real non-turbo engine, a real transmission and way less gizmos on the S variant. The interior is sweet. The info screen has an OFF button … The styling is pleasant on the eyes. I’m liking it more and more. And in a few years a grandkid gets it.
Mazda CX-30 S Select Machine Grey 2022 owner and I enjoy it! Like you said, the feeling of luxury without paying for it. I have off-road capability along with the all wheel drive and I’m assuming the carbon edition has it as well. I don’t have the turbo edition but it has enough get up and go on it if I need to pass on the left lane in the highways. Thank you Lauren for this video post.
@@CarCoachReports You’re welcome Lauren! Looking forward to your future reviews but especially on Mazda CX-30s or anything on Mazda! If possible, please do a review on the Mazda CX-50s as well. Thank you again Lauren.
It is a pitty that some reviewers do not touch the essential characteristics: reliability, total cost of ownership, resale value etc. Mazda CX-30 is an excellent subcompact crossover, a very good example of Mazda's positioning as premium (in between the upper mass-market Toyota #2 in reliability and #1 in low TCO and the luxury Lexus #1 in reliability, #4 in low TCO = Total Cost of Ownership). I had it in the final with a Lexus UX and it definitely wins (being #3 in reliability and #4 in low TCO) - except if you get a more than 20% discount from MRSP on a Lexus UX 250h F Sport AWD (that "black swan" happened to me at the beginning of the PLANdemic because the car lots were full). Highly recommend!
Nice review! As a Miata owner I personally don’t like the rotary dial in lieu of the touchscreen. Mine is not a 2024 so there is no touch unless you’re stopped. In the MX-5 it doesn’t really doesn’t make much sense. I didn’t like it in my Audis and I don’t like it the Mazdas. I am skeptical of claims that it is much/any safer.
A touchscreen requires a driver to look away from the windshield and focus on where to precisely touch something on a flat screen. Mazda knows console-mounted controls, once learned, are arguably safer to use. A touchscreen, along with real physical knobs and buttons for frequently used adjustments - as in the latest Hondas - are what I like best.
Agree, don’t like the dial button for nontouch screen, it’s 2024 Mazda. How come u did not mention about the terrible Apple play, the audio is very low. Apparently it’s a common thing in Mazda, which I found out after getting the car.
Hi, a) can you buy the base model without a sunroof? And b) how about the 2.5 turbo also without a sunroof? Some people do not like holes in the roof. 😮😊
La verdad yo practique muhco mi listening gracias a canales de youtube con contenido del que me gustaba en espanol. Eso de ver shows en Netflix en ingles con subtituloes es mas trampa que ayuda.
I have a 2021 cx30 and I am not a fan of many of the safety features, like when it almost stops dead when a car is leaving the lane or merging onto the interstate could cause an accident if I would have known it did this, I would not have bought it. I hate the short backend. I only like the Bluetooth, blind spot monitoring, backup camera and the look of the front, that is all I like about it. I really regret buying this car. But your review was very informative thank you for that.
Out of all the options, Crosstek was only the only other alternative. Until Subaru decided to swap the infotainment for a tablet slower than your aunts crappy android tablet. Somehow we should not be driving and using our phones/tablets, but infotainment like these are ok?
Leased a 2021 CX-30 Premium Package looking to maybe go back if at least one of these changes were implemented. -Exterior upgrade to match the sleek interior Back seating is tight! Not much leg room, Best for baby car seats and little kids, not adults. -Brake “safety” feature… please work on this, the car will come to a full stop brake on its own and in the middle of traffic/hghwy if it feels you can’t slow down fast enough. It has done this twice when I didn’t need it. - Gas goes quick, To fill up on gas is $33-$37 New Jersey prices. Not terrible but driving 5-7days a week I can spend $115 per month on gas. I get 234 miles per full tank. ❤
I like the navigation dial, one of my fav features beside the heads up display. It’s discrete while driving, no one sees you tapping on the screen & passengers Can’t follow your fingers 😂
@@curtiskaeo7902 I have a 2023 turbo premium. I love it! I bought a CAR not a computer screen! Who the F wants to use a computer screen to adjust the climate? The car drives great, and the interior looks classy. No sub-compact SUV comes close to the CX-30 for acceleration... Other than searching for radio stations, a touch screen really is not needed. Plus you can just use the voice command to get any xm or radio station just by pressing one button on the steering wheel...
Mazda says by using the knob on the center console, It keeps your eyes focused on the road. It's a bit of a learning curve at first, but once you get used to it, you understand why mazda did that. In a way, it's almost like the early 2000 to 2015 lexus lineup... lexus used like a mouse-joystick kind of thing to control the infotainment system.
You really don’t need the touch screen. Everything can be done easily with your voice or the control center. The ONLY time I’ve felt touch screen would help is zooming around on Apple Maps. Although you really shouldn’t be doing that while driving. If you need to do that do it on your phone before driving. If you want to add a stop while driving it automatically zooms out and adjust to what option is selected. I recommend spending a day and driving various options back to back. IMO the Mazda is best in class. P.s. the cx-5 has touch screen I believe.
Gotta be honest after driving my Mazda for a while now I honestly love how it’s not a touch screen. I prefer the knob and feel like it’s more intuitive. Although i can see how it turns people away who aren’t familiar. At first I thought the screen was so stupid and it turned me off but realistically, it’s been FANTASTIC
