The Velar gets some updates and changes from Range Rover for 2024. On the outside you will find a new grill, headlights, wheels and rear bumper. On the inside there is a new infotainment and a passenger space without physical buttons and knobs. Under the hood is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 putting out 247HP & mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Is the 2024 Range Rover Velar a BETTER midsize luxury SUV than a Genesis GV80?

The inline 6 with turbo at 395 hp is solid. Tops her out in the 70k range. IF you want a V8 you are getting the Range Rover Sport, not the Velar. The Sports are over $100k. Big difference for 130 more HP.

That lack of physical control is a no-no for me. It is just too distracting while driving when everything is touchscreen. Good looking vehicle but that's a BIG hump. It's a pass for me.

I do love the vehicle; my concern with Range Rover is the things that they have issues with are things that they just can't seem to get right. ie infotainment system, interior quality, maintenance. These issues give me pause.

After my brand new Genesis suv completely shut off in the middle of the highway refusing to start I'll never buy another again...needed the fuel pump replaced, had it officially recalled, then replaced again -- horribly unsafe. Considering the Velar but also looking at a few other brands.

Range Rover has some stellar looking vehicles, and few will dispute that. However, they have just about the worst reputation of quality and reliability in the industry.
