I love everything about the car except for the small screen with the a/c vents on either side, and a few buttons below it. I think the space in that area could’ve been arranged better.
The trick with the AC is to control the temperature which will also turn the fan speed down. The climate in my polestar does the same thing. It was annoying until I figured it out.
Unique. A lot of variations of that. I remember "back in the day" friends' Volvos had real nice great scented leather. Good job making it thru the review of that dog.
Just get the B5 version. XC40 is great. I can deal with unpainted body side moldings. Not as crazy as like CX50. Plus it’s more durable against rock chips/ road debris.
For the high price I think that I would have to look at the Cadillac first. Also on recharging you want to slow charge when you can do so, fast charging most of the time takes years off the batteries life span.
eGV70 all the way. I agree with so many of your zonks on this XC40 Recharge, which you won't find on the eGV70, except for the rear wiper. I test drove this XC40 Recharge and the eGV70. It is not even close. Genesis is in the next class with M-B and BMW.
I just read a horrific story about one of these vehicles catching fire. Now my question is are the rear doors meaning opening and closing them electric instead of using cables and latches they use electric solenoids and actuators because this story was pretty tragic where the carcon fire and a small child was in a safety seat in the back and they couldn't get the doors open. If this is true this is not a vehicle I would want to have any of my family members in for any reason
G 70 or GV 60? We actually consider this over our GV 60 because of the Volvo name. But feature per feature the GV60 wins hand down even if it’s 10 grand more expensive. If you research it, goes into a severe limp mode under 10%, and can be very dangerous.
XC40-60-90 (not 80). Also the recharge badge is only fully electric on the XC40 and C40. The XC90 and XC60 Recharge are plug-in hybrids. Volvo does have an EX90, and EX30 fully electric but it does not carry the the recharge badge.
Volvo is actually wanting to switch over quickly to BEV. But their new car, the EX90 is delayed by about a year. They are not building any new gen hybrids or PHEVs. The hybrids and PHEVs are the same older generation cars that we've seen on the road for years. The XC40 Recharge is pricey. I sat in the Polestar 4 that starts at about $60K and it is much roomier and more modern than the XC40. A G70 electrified is a nice vehicle, very different than the XC40.
I heard that Ford is running volvo.i have an s40 it is the safest cars in the world. Feels like you live in a high rise the ambient is wow too.the breaks can be adjusted the experience is like riding a bicycle.wow too.lots of airbags.i like the volvo car looking forward to see the volvo robots and flying cars in smart cites too.
Cloth seats to make the vegans happy. "No meat in my seat." $60,000 doesn't go too far today with these BEV's. I'm waiting for the day when Joe and his team add motorcycles to the channel.
It will be if “they” don’t fix the infrastructure and with a quickness. Or get to hyper range solid state battery/charging systems. Real road trips are a damn nightmare. iX owner and even with 340 miles of range, road trips (west coast) are stressful. Great for commuting IF you have a level 2 set up at home. JMO
There are some EVs that are great deals, but this ain't one of them. Anybody who buys this at 60k failed to do their research on other options in the segment. The infotainment alone is so outdated.
I don’t understand why they make electric cars rear wheel drive. When you get to a winter time what people suppose to do?! Why not making it front wheel drive?! WTF 😁
Maybe you could say "nothing will beat the sound of a gas powered car" but unfortunately electric does beat gas in many other metrics. Anything you've heard to the contrary is anti-ev propaganda.
Have you ever owned an EV? I am on my third one, can each one gets better and better. Unfortunately the infrastructure in the United States is not there to support them quite yet. Our political situation is forcing a lot of people not to like the car, but it is certainly not a trash can, and I think you really need to own one to make that judgment. There are certainly quirks like anything new, but it helps the environment in a climate that supposedly does not have climate change, and from a person who lost everything in a storm due to climate change, I am willing to do my part to help the environment. The big oil companies have brainwashed a lot of people to think that gasoline engines are the only way to go. Even if you don't want an Eevee, a PHEV is a viable alternate. 82 has many advantages over a gasoline engine, any extra cost is well worth it. My Volvo Evie put my Mercedes Eevee to shame, and besides that the Volvo is a lot safer.
@@bennettc419thank you for saying that. The anti-ev propaganda you certainly being driven by the big oil companies who have a lot to lose. ExxonMobil to say the least is doing everything they can to stop this transition. I live in a state that suffered severe climate change and is continuing to do so, particularly on the coastal regions. It is nice to see that many people recognize the environment has become a major source of problems around the world.
Volvo is not a Chinese car. The parent company only is Chinese. But this car is designed and engineered in Sweden. This particular one is built in Belgium.
@@rahimi4762 when you bought that car you said you wanted a Volvo. When you pick the Volvo that you wanted. You didn't say woo that car is nice what is that
@@infamous_MB I wanted it. They are solid, reliable, safe. Crazy how it’s kinda secret. And Volvo is old and solid company with an outstanding history. They still build cars solid like MB used to. Let MB and BMW chase tech and plastic parts. I liked it because the interior was more solid and d you don’t see them everywhere
