@@imnotusingmyrealname4566 😂 People still can’t agree with me the biggest Toyota hater out there yet here we are… people are implicitly saying I’m right
Never thought GMC or Buick were very luxurious. Cadillac until recently never really stood out to me either. Cabin materials really do make all the difference
I don't like all those digital screens around the dash in the Infinity. Im surprised Lexus fell way short on the new LX. Have you seen the new Genesis GV80? Now thats the right approach how to design a luxury SUV to rival the Germans.
I was looking at the Lexus, literally anxiously awaiting its arrival and unveiling (currently driving a Volvo XC90) but wasnt impressed enough to oull the trigger. This QX80 looks amazing and has everything I want. Definitely gonna buy this 😊
RIP to the V8. I hate how manufacturers are forced to downsize their engines and barely see any improvement in MPG, whilst losing the smoothness of a V8.
I suspect this v-6 is based on the v-6 in the q50, which is an incredibly smooth engine. This engine adds quite a bit more horsepower, and a LOT more torque with better fuel economy. Probably won’t sound nearly as good though, lol.
All Toyotas seem lacking. Those screens from cheap Toyotas shouldn’t be in Lexus. Lexus needs to be on par with BMW and MB. The LS600 has two tacky screens stacked. Horrible. New GX looks much better, but still too Rav 4 inside. Does the IS have wireless Apple/ Android yet? Wireless charging pad? 10 yr old engine?
One of the best looking luxury SUV. GMC is is premium at best. But not Luxury. That's why Cadillac exists. So you should have compared the QX to an Escalade.
I think the QX80 is the champion between these three. More modern in regards to the look and the engine. However, I don't like that the second row doesn't fold down like it used to in the previous years.
They did this to accommodate people with small kids. My QX80 folds and I wish it didn't since I have to remove the car seat to let people into the third row.
The new Infinity QX80/Y63 Patrol looks VERY good. Better than the LX600 and LC300. Engine same family as the GT-R engine (from their own words) which is bombproof but with 15 years of technological advancement. I’m sure they’ve learned a thing or two to improve it even further. The transmission is also the 9-speed which is used in the G-Class Mercedes Benz (which is a heavy duty off-road vehicle; it´s main purpose) but slightly reworked by Nissan/JATCO. Knowing the Japanese they made it even more durable seeing as the Patrol/QX80 is their halo model.
@@JokerG16 Exactly I'd rather spend it on a house I'm not saying I'd buy the house for the 100k I would put the 100k into the purchase of the house. Do you understand better now.
@@JokerG16 I just purchased a house last year for 275k. wouldn't the 100k go a lot further with a house than with a vehicle that will only last 8 to10 years. When a house I will have for life 50 plus years.
I see a lot of people complaining about v6 engine. This is a better innovation… why use a v8 engine thats takes up a lot of space, weight and consume so much fuel … when you can actually Tune a V6 engine and get almost the same performance. And mind you, A v6 is cheaper to maintain and it’s cheaper to Buy a new v6 engine, if something goes wrong. An improved technology means reduction in size and better efficiency 🙄
The QX80 is based off the Nissan Patrol so its reliability is up there with the Toyota Landcruiser. With any new car that’s been completely redesigned, only time will tell. But it looks pretty good on paper. Hopefully this is a good start to a comeback for Infiniti.
Generally vehicles assembled in Japan tend to have significantly better build quality and reliability and they take that up a notch for high zoot vehicles like the Toyota Century, Lexus LX and Infiniti QX.

as a lexus fan im getting some doubts recently these suvs are too much as much as i rule them out theyre breaking lexus's back i really hope the lx makes a comeback
The Lexus LX needs to based on the Sequoia at least in North America since it doesn’t truly compete with the QX-80 because the third row doesn’t seat three
What do you even mean!? Both are based of the same platform, engines, transmissions, axles…….. You mean apples to apples? Sequoia will be an Armada competitor
The LX is a different animal…really designed for longevity, the build quality is excellent. It has never been the latest and greatest…they appeal to a very narrow segment.
no one cares since it no longer has a v8. v8 isn't about power, its about how smooth it makes the powertrain and thats what people want in these large family haulers..
So people want cylinder deactivation too? Because that’s what a modern v8 needs pass epa standards lol 😂 stop crying, go buy the previous model if you miss the v8
Infiniti's sales have been in the toilet for over a decade. There isn't anything new or unique enough to sway a Toyota, Lexus, Lincoln or Cadillac customer. It's actually quite garish which has been the norm for Nissan/ Renault for years. A big, over wrought 👎👎👎
New car sales are falling off a cliff yet the manufacturers and dealers keep raising the prices.I think they are playing the long game and are waiting on a government bailout.
@@naveenthemachine this competes with LX600, the GX is another category but what makes the GX a complete package is that it is a combination of premium, everyday use and offroad something not many SUVs do nowadays. Its like it a dash of Jeep, G-Wagon, Bronco, Land Cruiser, all in one. Thats what makes it the best. you must remember that not everyone wants ultra luxury SUVs especially if you are looking for something to last some decades and you can take off road
I'm over all the big screens to me is just a cop out for the auto industry when it comes to styling and button at minimum make your AC controls physical touch
You have to have big screens in 2024. They actually did a nice job integrating the screens. It doesn't look like 2 tablets they just stuck on the dashboard.
Agreed. Reliability can only get you so far. Lexus' biggest problem is its own arrogance. They are stuck with the mentality that "less is more", "understated elegance" and "simplicity is art" bull crap, all awhile GM and the Koreans are eating their lunch with modern, bold designs.
I though the Cadillac Escalade IQ was big, but this Infinity is an equal size monster. Anyway, the name of the rear panel is far too big. I'm not a fan of these billboard style model name ads. The contrasting gray and brown are also not that pleasant to look at. But the cabin is well appointed and luxurious although some of the plastics do look cheaper than its competition. That's not a panoramic sunroof though. The Denali has a center console that looks very neat and simple. Conversely, the Lexus is very busy and look like its a generation behind with the center mounted bean bag shifter.
I was considering waiting for the 2025 QX80, but the overuse of screens actually turns me off. My kids would ruin the 2nd row console screen in minutes. For now, our 2024 QX80 Sensory is good enough for my family.
I'm not sure why people keep saying the QX80 does not sell. It's becoming more and more popular. People are so used to boring American style SUVs that eveytime I pull up the reaction is "Wow, what is that?" 😂
Lexus guy here, sorry but the LX is such a disappointment from the get go. Even the sister LC300 is imo a downgrade from the previous gen, especially the LX. Infiniti just crushed Lexus in the game.
They could make it more luxurious it doesn’t matter. People know Nissan/ Infiniti are horrible for reliability. They aren’t going to sell well and they will be easy to negotiate for a cheap price same as always
The auto industry have lost their way. These vehicles are not worth the price. $100K for an SUV? There is nothing these vehicles do differently than they did 10 years ago that make them worth the high prices we are seeing today.
Better then Escalade Denali Lincoln Mercedes gls better then Lexus etc no competition and a hidden rear wiper. If they came out with a long version of this the game is over
It overall has the same shape as the old QX80. New front and rear fascia, as well as new door handles. New powertrain, updated infotainment and screen situation, but it doesn't seem like a new QX80, it looks like a much needed refresh. It looks leaps and bounds better than that Yukon, so there's that.
I think there were more changes underneath. I think they widened it by a few inches. But it is still an updated version of the F-Alpha platform its been riding on.
They were right to keep the same basic shape. Many people loved the design of the current QX80. They took the old design and brought it to 2024. Jeep does the same with Wranglers. Land Rover does it with Range Rovers. We're glad they didn't completely do away with the design.
QX80 looks good... as does the Yukon. The Lexus has some catching up to do. Also, not quite apples to apples to compare the Yukon to luxury vehicles. (Denali trim is darn close, but not quite lux.) Everyone knows that Cadillac is GM's luxury division. Still, the Yukon manages to hold it's own in this comparison. Looks like the 24 doesn't have the infotainment screen upgrade yet - as seen on the new Acadia. Guess they will get it next year.
I think it’s nice and looks really cool. This would concept material 20 years ago. But I don’t think all of this is worth the increase in price of vehicles
So if fuel mileage doesn't improve, what's the environmental benefit to having a smaller turbo engine over a larger NA engine? Or this all just a farce? Nissan did a great job btw
Love the QX80. Have had 4 of them and they hit it out of the park with this new one. Except the motor. No V6 will handle that heavy weight. Ford/lincoln, toyota/lexus, motors are all blowing up. Too heavy for a V6. Should had been something along the lines of a 4.4V8 twin turbo. That would had been the perfect motor
If you plan on towing you must get the air suspension. Not a fan of the lexus like HUGE grill. oems need to get away from that. I don't get why oems keep raising MSRP's. 80K dollar SUV's will sit on the lot. Luxury brands are becoming a harder sell by the day. Oems need to focus more on rugged SUV's with more affordable prices. At this price your chasing a ever shrinking pool of customers willing to spend that money on a huge depreciating asset. Essentially it won't take long before dealers will resort to heavy discounts just to move them. Just look at the Jeep wagoneer. Its was literally DOA.
I couldn't care less about the luxuriousness of the Infiniti. I hope the Armada retains a reasonable price, decent off-pavement capability, 2nd row bench, and gains a sliding 2nd row and better cargo space.
I wonder how they expect to sell these at these ridiculous prices when the car market is cooling down. Almost no one can buy these or a home. These corporations are so greedy. Car prices should be capped at 65-80k.
I watched because it’s TFL and Andrea, but man do we need another 100 grand SUV? I guess the 10% that has 90% of the wealth need a stylish ride as we surfs struggle to find an affordable reliable vehicle!
Shhh...the new Chevrolet Traverse is coming to a Chevy dealer near you soon. Also I'm sure the new Armada will be significantly cheaper especially for the base trims.
