@@Classic_Tomfoolery The turret uses the same model from 2019, it didnt get changed at all in all these years. In my oppinion turret should get at least a small buff, like hd or flying detection, or something bigger.
@@Darda202 Turret does have HD and LD, I think logically it shouldnt have FD cause the Turret shouldnt be able to aim up, its shooting bullets not missiles, its gotten buffed Twice but the harsh placement limit of 5 makes it hard to catch up with other DPS towers, but the fact it doesnt have to wind up when shooting, good targeting, debuff Immunity and overall reliability still makes it a solid tower
fun fact: next update the devs are reworking the pursuit (I forgot how) another fun fact:pat fusty (btd6) can and will solo anything in all fiction and reality

A great documentary about DPS towers, but really wished the video would be longer, as the intros felt very long yet the video seems pretty rushed. (Not the video itself, I’m talking about the length of the video), now this might just be a “me” problem (probably because I watch too many long documentaries) anyways, I definitely agree with the Accelerator falling off, the amount of new towers and towers that are reworked is just too much for Accelerator to keep up.
when I do hardcore I tell people that do not have engineer yet to replace accel with turret or some other dps (pursuit perhaps) to me, accel fell off after the nerf and I just replace it with engi (I still bring accel to pwII and hardcore when carrying noobs to maximize the dps)
Just a question In one video by some yt(i forgor) they said when engi and accel are both buffed by commander and dj. accel does an extra 110dps. this true?
You made me cry in tears... I have notice that Accel Rework is a solid nerf ( 40% - 50% Power Lost ). The whole overcharge thing ruin it. I mean now Accel at lvl 1 has 1.5s burst time and 5s being useless while cost like 5000 + Hidden ? and along with commander CoA... All levels will have Burst Time shorter than Cooldown + Charge. I been saying this over and over again to 300 Accel Abusers and they didnt understand, I even compare New Accel to Old Accel and Old Accel destroy New Accel. Now I hope the players ( mostly ) in TDS community see this Video so I dont have to lose another game due to an Accel Abuser again :D
From my own experimenting (ive dont jack), and understanding of dps towers (there is none), im pretty sure the hardcore towers are still on top for some reason. Sure, the nerfs are really bad, but somehow they cant be knocked down from their top of the tower chain
To be fair, you could argue that ace pilot means that you dont need HD but that requires another tower slot. And modt other decent towers have hd so your point still stands
I still remember back then when pursuit got a buff and it became meta that you can solo hardcore with it I actually almost solo'd hardcore but prob just my skill issue.
I never used old accel but i can compare this accel to the turret, on hc it didnt make much of a difference i thought turret was lightly better It feels like pursuit and engi consistency is improved a lot when using dj
Accelerator is good,however when example of hardcore where enemies spam stuns accelerator has perform worser due to charge up,but it needs also a medic to solve this issue Yes!golden minigunner is op but when playing with team its not that reliable as placement limits the placement of minugnner means lower dps
The downside of accel is that when it targets a enemy it shoots till it kills now's days okay but the fact that let's say you got 5 Necro bosses and they summon skeletons and your accels are killing the nercros and skeletons be passing the gate Scot free
Does accel need a buff? After all, almost all dps towers can get better result from accel, for example engineer have a ton of dps and good cost effectively and etc reason in the video but how they could raise the damage cap. Or make the time between overcharge shorter on the accel.
I don’t think the problem with the accelerator is that it’s taking the spotlight of other towers. Heck I’d say the issue is the opposite actually. Golden Minigun completely dominates it in solos and other towers are just more reliable in other gamemodes. If the money bug surrounding the accelerator is still present, then the tower unironically cannot even beat solo fallen. For a tower costing 2,500 gems, it performs like one that costs….. about 1000-ish, which given the amount of time the average player has to solo hardcore for because they don’t have friends to grind with, it really isn’t worth it and just seems like a huge waste of time.
Wdym by "Turret cannot be debuffed"? Do you mean like when towers get spooked by bosses but turret can't get spooked? (Wox can scare towers, this means range gets lowered)
Turret even though having less dps because of the range and no recharge it actually can have higher total damage than accel If you don't believe me think about ranger slow firing speed and same dps as the turret but full map coverage give it almost 2x more total damage than a accel or engie. That is also why melee towers are balanced. Insane dps limited range = less total damage
Era of accel have ended. If they make the charging faster and make the limit higher it be meta again if it got a strength buff the cap shluld be higher Or they could rework it that is a buff for accel getting stronger and an ability maybe
Instead of reworking turret, the dev are reworking DJ??!! Seriously,why? DJ is already perfect the way it is right now. Its been 5 YEARS that turret stayed with the same model yet they never change it. They better give some love to this upgraded sentry.
This is the best video essay on why accel needs a buff. Me personally, reduce the base cost back to 3,500, reduce level 5 cost to like 25,000, make the placement limit 10, and make it able to attack for 12 seconds rather than having a damage cap (buffs actually mean something now). Feel free to add a few or all of the changes listed above.
ive done my math with engi 6 max engi with all war machine sentrys placed is 2,176.08 dps with the max dps of all 6 engi combined that is 547,14 dps 2,176.08 + 547.14 = 2,723.22 now ill add the sentrys missle which is a huge 1,225 broken of course but thats for the single target then 6 of those is 7,350 2,723.22 + 7,350 = 10,073.22
i actually haven't used accelerator ever since i got engineer and found out the raw potential of the other dps towers in comparison to accelerator statistically he's a tower that's mid at best, in practice he's utter garbage and only good for pw2
3:22 you can’t place 40 miniginners, because, you can only place 40 towers in solo, and even in solo, if you want to buff golden minigunners you can place like 30 of them because you placed other towers like dj, commander, farm, merc base etc.
towers that are better than the accelerator ranger (sometimes) : can't be stunned golden mi- NOT YOU pursuit: can't be stunned engineer: sentries are debuff immune and stun resistant brawler: can't be stunned im starting to see a pattern here
We do have some things to consider such as mercenary base and consumables almost not affecting engineer but engineer is way more realible because of accels targeting and is semi imune to stuns
