Is the AI Hype Real? Insta360 Ace Pro vs iPhone 15 Pro Max vs GoPro Hero 12 vs One RS 1-inch Leica 

Just visited the insta360 website and ace pro details on their web. However there is no mentioning about lens guard replacement at all. And unfortunate there is also no lens cap available. And lens replacement is not possible as consumer. So what are your thoughts? I like the ace pro but hesitant to buy an action cam without lens cap and or lens replacement

@@WiljanWiljan The lens guard replacement program is 100% confirmed. Not on their official website yet but they announce it on Reddit and the official Facebook group. I am sure it will be updated on the website soon. The FREE replacement is ONLY the first year if you don't have Insta360 Care. If you have Care I think it is way longer but I am not sure yet. Also ND and lens cap is coming. I don't know how the ND works as you can not replace your own lens. But if you are worried about lens scratch, we highly recommend getting the coming up ND (I believe from a very high-end third-party maker that makes DJI and GoPro NDs - I can not say the name yet). Then you can replace ND instead. Also ND is NEEDED if you want realistic motion blur outdoor - all action cameras needed it as no F-stop adjustment. More update will be posted here as soon as I have updated

what is one year? If you can still buy replacement lenses for Hero 9 or DJI Action 1 and replacing the glass takes a few minutes instead of a few weeks, it's a stupid joke on insta360. This problem has lost a large number of customers who will be waiting for a new camera that will have this option.

I just got a insta360 Ace Pro took it for my first night motorcycle ride I'm getting a ton of lens flare I don't get with my GoPro I had it in pure video 30 frames per second settings automatic night stabilization on. Playback was so pretty choppy and it's not that way when I play back 5K video on my phone. The only leg up it looks like it gives you is the stabilization at night cuz I got the same video quality minus all the lens flares with my GoPro Hero 11 when I use the correct settings. Wondering if I just got a defective Ace Pro or what

And if you read my comment it's actually the Ace Pro I have that's not usable video at night

@@hughhou for example on one of my channels I record while walking along the streets and stop every 30-60 secs for some static shoots. If I had a way to automatically have highlited all the non-moving footage would save me so much time editing

Glad you like it. Yes new firmware is coming and we will follow up if there is significant update. Getting into holiday season might be slow. I actually love the flip screen - it is something you never think you need on an action camera but when you have it there is no way I want to go back to GoPro, DJI Action 4 or even the Osom 4 (just got it for testing, was sold out for a while).

Ace pro low light is better than 1" as 1" also not good in low light and def not as good as iPhone. So you can use the iPhone as benchmark.

1) What you mean viewing angle modes? / 2) Yes. Same as horiztonal. 4K 120fps and 8K 24fps coming - FreeFrame mode also work in vertical, you get 3 by 4 ratio 4K video - so basically everything work in Vertical. 3) There is no underwater housing yet. Will test it when it is release and weather is getting warmer. We are winter here now :)

You mean timecode? Did you see Karen X Cheng G-Spat VolCap setup using like 30+ Ace Pro on her IG? It must has syncing somehow to do VolCap / G-Spat like that. Can be some custom firmware only Karen can pull it off with Luma AI and Insta360. Getting crazy in the AI world!

Ace Pro is one of the largest sell items so number of sample size is way higher. But 99.9% of the time it will be a good unit.

But still way way better than GoPro

No, I mostly use the wide angel lens to match the FOV of GoPro and Ace Pro. I tested later on, the main iPhone camera still better in Low Light if you use Apple Log and grade it yourself in post. Since the sensor size is so so much bigger. Again you won't have the same fov as an action camera.

I did both - I labelled in the video. Mostly is 05x zoom as I want to match the FOV with action camera.

We will have some tests soon on snowboarding and probably gonna try to destory the camera for what we planned. Just waiting for a better weather here

Max Lens Mod 2.0 is a GoPro thing and make the camera unique - if you want that FOV and Max Lens mod, then GoPro is what you need lol

Yes it does - and if you watch this video, the low light quality is probaby why I will buy this camera compared to, let's say, the new DJI Osmo Pocket. The low light is ridiculer good b/c the advanced ISP they put into the camera. It is unmatched in the action camera world even lots of folks making fun of this camera...

Unfortunately no. The quality won't match the iPhone Apple RAW especially if you take it with the main lens. The low light is better in Ace Pro. But if you use DNG you don't get those benefit. And a graded Apple RAW will be always better than any action camera just b/c larger sensor and faster aperture lens.

They are in their respect folder lol. Like all files in GoPro Folder will be shot on Hero12 :)

In your Ace Pro folder, you have a folder called 5.3k. Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the Go Pro the ONLY one that can shoot it? I was asking for which file is shot on what in the folders as I assumed each were dumped into the same folder. Gx is a goprofile, no? Pro is Ace Pro? Which is One RS? Thanks@@hughhou

I will choose Ace Pro - newer camera built with 5nm AI chip ISP that allow go way higher resolution than Action 4. I also do not do extreme extreme weather (which is Action 4 good for in sub zero weather), so I will pick ease to use instead. If I want pro level quality, I will have my bigger gun camera.

I just returned my Ace pro about 30min ago and my Go Pro 12 a week ago Tested it against my action 4 and color grading was an issue for me as I will use it for BTS Footage and sometimes added it to my music videos. No Log Profile was the deal breaker the flip screen feels nice but I definitely like a front screen . The Footage was best in low light and in standard color profile but even in the low setting the sharpness was just way took much for me,Flat Profile was not Working out for me either. I really wanted to keep the Go Pro but they had no low light Options. All in All the Action 4 is the Pick for me. The next generation Action Cameras will be Crazy Good though can’t wait and thanks for the Reply.

I think they are going to put out what they have to make use of the lead in technology. They will probably have this Ace Pro in the news for a couple of month and sell that and in spring 24 the X4 is due. Fingers crossed.

Oh yes One RS 1" is like a untold secret lol. It is also the only one has backbone mode and you can attach a cinema MFT lens on it with super small profile. I like to go to swap me market in LA and just shop vintage C-mount lens and use it on the One RS 1" backbone body to create super vintage look video - people always wonder how I shot this and what "film" camera I used lol.

It support in regular mode in all resolution and frame rate. 8K is not out yet so I can't test it. It does NOT work in Free Frame mode for now but future firmware might enable it.

I suggest get the ND filter for protection so you can replace it easily and also control your shutter speed better. Insta360 I believe has FREE lens replacement program for all Ace Pro buyers

Huh, interesting fact. Yes it just cut off and has warning message as you see in my video said "too hot camera need to shut down". The camera is very hot. But same is GoPro when it hit 17 min. So camera body is certainly hot. If it can run longer - then I don't know as I try to force start the camera immediately, it will shut off as well - same message of too hot. If it is just shut off - it should allow me to restart recording immediately without too hot warning - so is that answer your question?

@hughhou Yeah I guess it does, ty. I only wished to be certain cuz my x3 does the exact same thing (is why I looked it up) but no heat warning. Record time is 29min, stop and restart automatically for 29min, repeat until battery dies. Quick record hard stop at 29min with no restart. I thought it may be a similar thing, but you have the heat warning. Thanks again. Cheers 🍻

I recently did it with snowboarding - the FOV is small if you use 360 horizon leveling - which kinda necessary for snowboarding

They are the same sensor. But Ace Pro has 5nm AI chip and stronger ISP - so the hardware is better in Ace Pro if that help. Also the magnetic mount is not as solid in DJI - there is report the camera drop. This one if you get my accessories (the one with the lock sold sereprately) it is locked on - so extra sense of security (not like any of them will ever fail but if you are hooking this on skydiving - you want that lock)

GoPro 12 is last in this race and it's been proven time and time again from all the reviews so far. The only strong contender 'overall' would be the DJI Action 4, GoPro is way behind especially with the low light quality, at 12th gen, GoPro should have had this feature in the park and yet, we are still fighting over heating issues for the past what? 4 gens? seriously?

We have lots of camera and the production cost is way higher than a camera as you see the production value of this video. Re Apple Log comment - we did as the low light test. We are well aware the Apple Log but it is a professional feature. Consumer will not go tho the trouble to use Resolve to grade their cellphone footage. That is why most footage is use straight out of camera footage to be fair. Cheers!

You do realized that EVERY company does this on pre-launch right? Apple, GoPro, DJI etc etc. There are reputable reviewers on RU-vid that have exclusive privileges to pre-testing products and in a lot of cases they are actually sent a competition device to test against. Nothing wrong with this, "sponsored" is a different story, they are generally scripted to say what the company requests via some sort of incentive. The pre-testers/beta testers play a critical role for companies to get a sense of where improvements are needed before launch. Don't mistake "beta" testers and "sponsored" testers, you could have some no one who will buy this camera and give it a bad review because they are competition brand fanboys and I've already seen this on RU-vid regarding this model, some don't even have this camera and making speculations to NOT buy it. IF this was sponsored, there would be no negative points lol and to date, this is the most detailed review of all the devices. It's right there for you, now you make the decision for yourself.

I've seen tons of reviews, I disagree, this was not compromised, he simply laid out all the pros and cons for ALL the devices and let YOU make the decision, he's not telling you to buy it, he's suggesting it's for certain type of users at the end of the video. I see this as a good reviewer, some out there blatantly tells you it's the best and there are no negs and to buy, now I would consider "compromised and/or tainted". There's this other thing also, end user responsibility, do your homework, if someone is so brainwashed to buying something from one or maybe two reviewer, well, they aren't really shopping smart are they. The other thing, some of these reviewers are truly legit and getting beta test units also helps them provide you a service on 'their' time free to you. But by what you're saying that each and every one of these reviewers should be paying out of their own pockets to buy, what? 4 devices each over $400 so YOU can be satisfied lol. How about this, why don't you fork out the cash to give these reviews for all the different devices for them to review, best way to guarantee from it being compromised. Have you ever done one of these reviews? Do you realized the time and commitment it takes to shoot, compile, edit and post a review especially when multiple devices are involved, what? so they get a free camera? You do realized that bias reviews are never good for both parties right? For most content creators that do that, i usually comes back and bites them in the ass. Also, do you realize that some of these units are actually on loans, some companies usually require them back after the review is complete. I have also seen some reviewers who actually bought the camera themselves and have given very similar results, why as an end user, we are required to use our brains to actually do some of the research and come to our OWN conclusions, but we have become a lazy society haven't we? we'll blame it on others for bad decisions we make or it's simply "human nature". We usually do very technique sensor / camera test like what you do in a rental house with professional camera. Then we did do motion test on my OneWheel. We use different style of review compare to other reviewers. More focus on camera tech to provide a different prespective than you already saw on the Internet. Very technical and only stationary can see technical glitch.

I actually got in at CES - everyone can get it if you go to the trade show. I have it for a while lol.
