@@lj2192 I didn’t expect a rate of return at all. Just the 25-30% supplement retirement income it was supposed to be. Social security was not created to be your sole income at retirement. There’s are reason why it’s called “social” security. I’ve done the rate of return on my end with my investments and savings of over two million for retirement and debt free. Didn’t even include social security and pension in my retirement planning. No... the issue is a lot of people make really terrible financial choices. It's not any harder really. I did the math recently about what common things did cost when I was 18 & how much I made. I have all my financial records from 16. I'm a nerd. Basically I looked at percentage of income each thing took. And I looked at what wages are today for the same job. So if I was 18 again but today. The percentages are basically very similar. The conditions kids and your adults are seeing are practically the same. In some areas like utilities. My utility costs were nuts when I was 18. One of the apartments I was living in cost me roughly $400 in todays money to heat. It's insane. I have a house much larger than that apartment. My highest bill today might be $150.
