Before you comment on F1 I suggest you learn a bit about it other than watching that American circus " Drive to survive Crap. F1 does not need America never has Never will
I think GM should start to develop the engine if they are serious about entering F1. Because worse case scenario, they can enter as an engine supplier at 2026, and I don't think F1 would set a roadblock for that like they did with Andretti. Otherwise, it really seems to me that they are only half committed. You could argue Alfa Romeo used Ferrari engine in their road car as well, so the whole Sauber thing makes some sense. But Andretti Cadillac using Renault engine come 2026? That's a big joke.
why do they need to develop their own engine to be in F1? seems like they should be able to buy a motor like haas, who is also a very very low income team.
Why hasn't GM lodged the paperwork with the FIA about being a potential engine supplier from 2026 then? that way they can sit in on meetings and keep up to date on the PU regs.
@@mrwhatever9025 no shit Genius! The quality has to be better, you can’t run a formula one power unit for 24 hours straight😑 dum, dum 🤣 so I’m sure it wouldn’t be a problem for them to make a power unit for formula 1😉 Mr whatever ⁉️🫤 that’s not a very manly name or a manly phrase🤣
you are missing the point ... America has no team worthy of entering F1 the knowledge & technology is not in America its in Europe . Andretti would not move to Europe in th e90's part of the reason he failed..along with the fact he was dead slow !

Doesn't matter what we think, what matters is f1 think it's a stunt, attempt by Andretti doomed to fail again. Their only way in will be to buy an existing team.
I dont think its a publicity stunt at all. I think they have an "exploratory" interest but GM is THE most wishy-washy manufacturer on the planet. We all know they can make a hell of an engine. The problem is their commitment. GM has a really bad habit of NOT doing what's best for their engines to support a long term developmental process. They have a SEVERE habit of sitting on their laurels and not continuing to innovate. That is GM's Achilles Heel, it always has been. GM makes the best cylinder heads in the world, but, cylinder heads dont win races. If they aren't willing to invest in a total package race engine, they'll fail.
Apparently! Andretti put 200 million on the table for the dilution of the prize money! That’s 20 million of free money to each team just to get on the grid, but to some snobby teams that wasn’t enough then they come with One of the biggest manufacturers in the world with credible credentials in motorsport!! Cadillac has been racing for years and will be racing at 24 hours of Le Mans with the DPI v.r race car this year after a 20 year hiatus, not to mention how many times Corvette has won their classifications, Cadillac is just a luxury version of Corvette! Both Andretti and Cadillac are proven names in motorsport, I think the people that are pushing back are just a little snobby/prissy🤣 they let a crappy team like Haas on the grid, why not let a team with credible credentials get a shot!? Too proud to take money from an legitimate American but not too proud to get paid off by middle eastern and Russian countries with human rights violations where Formula One races🤔
It is an absolut shame to motorsports in general that F1 just rejects additions to the grid because the price money would be smaller. They wouldnt need to claim anybody does a PR stunt, if they just allowed others to join and then (if this was true) make fools of themselves by pulling out again. Just imagine if some other sport did this, like football for example. A new Club making it to the champions league for the first time but the old clubs just dont want to play against them and excluse them from the league? F1 is turning in such a pathetic circle jerk with those things.
It has all the signs of being just a PR stunt. GM are supplying a name and checking some boxes. Obviously they're not going to come out and admit "Yeah this is just a PR stunt". Once GM commits to building an engine or the chassis then we'll know it's serious.
Andretti doesn't have anything to offer to F1 other then a name which is not enough, the only way they will get into F1 is a long term deal with a real engine supplier not a sponsor who just wants to rebrand a Renault engine

@@DaJuan681 the main thing is Cadillac is not going to supply Andretti with engines and they have no plans on developing an F1 engine which means they will just be a title sponsor, Andretti would be better of partnering with an engine builder like Honda but rumors are Honda is considering on a full works team again but they are only going to do it they can buy an existing team which will likely be Alpha Tauri, that's just my opinion.

@@sparkieT88 in terms of GM/Cadillac if they were serious and not just trying to be a sponsor partner they would already be working on an to compete in F1 which they are not they have already stated "GM nor Cadillac will be the engine supplier for this new team." and will work with a current F1 engine supplier said by GM spokesperson following the Andretti/Cadillac announcement. If Andretti/Cadillac get into F1 its going to be Andretti/Cadillac/Renault/Alpine which does nothing for the sport which is the biggest issue with them coming into F1.
@@jessereddragon7617 why are alfa romeo, Aston Martin, McLaren, alpha tauri, Williams, they dont build their own engines, so by your logic they dont add anything to the sport, so we should get rid of all of them
@@sparkieT88 they all have partnerships with actual engine suppliers that have history in F1 and have history in F1 themselves as a team, Alfa Romeo/Sauber have an engine deal with Ferrari until Audi takes the team completely over in 2026 who are building their own engine to power the Audi/Sauber F1 car so they are coming into F1 with something of value and not just a sponsor, Alpha Tauri will likely be the next team that is going to bought and taken over by a VW group car manufacturer or someone that will come into F1 with more than just a name on a car
@@jessereddragon7617 so Andretti has a partnership with Renault, who dont have a second team, so they are actually behind because they dont get as much data back from running the engines, so this would only help Renault build a better engine and be more competitive, but " they dont add anything "
for sure its PR stunt . Andretti don't have the knowledge or experience to enter F1 without outside European help. They don't understand what is actually needed. when have Andretti ever designed and built their own cars ??
