Is The ARTCISE AS90C PRO The Best Value Tripod Ever? I Think It Could Be.

I decided to get myself a tripod that had enough height so as not to need a centre column. I wanted carbon fibre, I wanted it to be super sturdy, I wanted it to have a levelling base, and I wanted it to be affordable. The Artcise AS90C PRO seemed too good to be true at the price. Happily it turned out to be everything I wanted and more.

These are really good tripods, especially for the price. ARTCISE makes the same tripod under three brand names: ARTCISE AS90C, INNOREL RT90C and WEYLLAN LX9. They change the price and discount on a regular basis so you want to keep an eye on them all before hitting the buy button. I got the WEYLLAN LX9 for $263 including tax. On 3/20/23 it was listed as $299 and had a $50 coupon. Later that same day the price went up and the discount was 5%.

A bit too much tripod for my needs but an impressive price for such a well put together piece of kit. Perhaps you could include an update after a season or so. Loved the pine forest image. Well done - very hard as you say to get something interesting - though the detail in moss and bark you bring out is lovely.

Sam thank you for watching. I’ve been out around 6 times so far with it. So far it’s been flawless. I love the levelling bowl with the new ball head that I got for it. Ball head video out on Monday.

Have fun with the new tripod, Dave! The base reminds me of the iFootage Gazelle TC7 Thomas Heaton is using. Nice to have when shooting panoramas...

Thank you for this review. My cheap K&F Concepts tripod was stolen so I'm looking for a replacement. I took a look at a few of the other models as well of this one, not a bad prices for all that's available, especially for me standing at 6'2" without a center column!

Nice review, mate! I'm in doubt between this one and the Innorel Rt90c. I think the tripod is the same, but under different brands. This looks amazing. Thank you.

The same class with Artcise AS90C is Innorel RT90C or Evumo XT9S or Weyllan LX9 .Four of them with max loading 40kg.

That leveling ball on mine was horrible. It was cast and not machined afterwards. It was sticky and grabby and useless. I had to lap it in with valve grinding compound to get it to move smoothly and get fine adjustment. It’s a cheap, Chinese, $25.00 ball so not unexpected! The tripod itself is an insane value for money, as sturdy as you could possibly want. I paired it with an Acratech LLH, and will never use a ball head again.

I think it is also sold under the Innorel name as the RT90C Tripod. The fact that they come with a leveling base and a flat plate probably does make it the best value in tripods. I've seen a few reviews from wildlife photographers that love them. Also apparently they are designed to hold rifles for competition shooting so I assume it means it's built like a tank. I think I'm going to pick one up.

I’ve had mine for almost 4 months now. So far it still performs as well as the day it arrived. Despite shooting in rain, freezing temperatures, sea winds etc, none of the parts have dulled

It is a stikaspruce forest I think. There are very nice mixes to find in Scotland, some have been left unattended and you get in my view great mixes of various broadleaved and coniferous species. Lots of moss but also lots of different ferns. But when they constantly take the woods down and regrow it with small trees than it is a pretty boring space. I agree. I have the RC-80 because the RC-90 is a bit overkill for my Olympus Em1.2 camera but it has no problems at all with the Nikon D800E either. I use a 44 mm innorel ballhead which is 40-50 euro's but I find it is reallly very good too. I bought this all together including shipping from China for no more than 176 euro. If I had to buy something like that over here in The NEtherlands, that would easily have set me back another 200 euro's. So yeah...Innorel is cheap. and good. One thing to note: the spikes with RC-80 cannot be fitted tight enough. So when I went out in the snow this winter I lost one simply because due to vibration . So it is better to attach a rubber ring or something similar to get the spikes tight. new ones via ebay are not expensive though...

Thank you so much for watching. I’ve had the tripod around 6 months now, I bought the artcise ball head for it 2 days after I shot this video. It’s easily the best tripod I’ve ever used, including my 3 legged thing Winston. Way I see it, if I get 2 years of hard use from it, it’s paid for itself. It’s still as good as new after 6 months

I am enjoying your videos, you have a different presentation than others. I like different and am, myself, different. I also watched you playing guitar, you are quite good! I play drums, into great rock, jazz, jazz fusion. Too bad we are 8 time zones apart...haha. Can you tell a bit of your music history? Education, groups played with, recordings I might hear you on...I'm curious. You can hear me on You Tube, enter Westwind/Eulogy. 1983 was a while ago, haha!! I wish there were more. About that tripod, mine arrives monday!!! Jazzed!! Peace and love.

I've been looking for a stable tripod to mount a gimble onto for my Sony 200-600mm lens and I think this is it. It's more expensive than any other tripod ive bought, but it's still cheaper than other sturdy wildlife tripods without a center column

Getting back into this hobby after taking some time to be a grown up with my $. Is this really 2x the weight of a RRS TVC-34? I get that its around 70% cheaper so I'm researching the trade offs.

Hey Dave. Just wanted to say I bought one of these tripods based on your comprehensive review. It was super useful seeing someone actually use one in the flesh, so to speak. Having used a similar Gitzo for many years in work, I was skeptical that a ‘knock off’ would come anywhere close to the €2k Gitzo. Except for the overall height the two models are basically like for like. Incredible! Let’s see if it stands the test of time though haha.... Thanks again for the video!

Hi! Can you help me how many degrees need to turn the rings for securing the sections? On several tripods, the manufacturer indicates that with a simple guesture quick the sections can be fixed with the rings. This, in my interpretation, means that there is no need to twist more than once or maybe max up to 60-90 degrees. what do you think about this? is it really enough to twist the ring just a few degrees to secure the legs? Or need to be twist several times to be able to fix sections? Thank you!
