Thank you for watching and thank you for the kind words! I was always under the impression EGR systems are only active at partial throttle? (Pardon my knowledge if that's incorrect) But, much like yourself, any car I own the EGR valve comes straight out and you instantly feel the benefit. Wow, a 123d track car, that's an unusual choice! I'm guessing it performs well on track??? Thank you for the info! - Drew

​@@accelerateyoutube Thanks for the reply Drew! The 3.0 D V6 BiTurbo engine is a corker, I had that unit in a modified A7 I built (I could find a picture if you like Audi's?!). Even if the EGR isn't activated there is always a build up of soot left over as the system isn't 100% efficient. Remember, EGR/DPF systems were only invented to cheat emissions figures, they do not help an ICE unit in anyway. ICE engines get their lowest emission performance at 90 degree engine temp so throwing exhaust gases back through is already asking a lot and on top of that have you seen the cost of an EGR/intake clean?! c£600+ in my opinion it's a ridiculous technology and don't get me started on start/stop!! 123d track car - yes it performs very well bang for buck! 12 track days and I haven't been overtaken......yet! The first mod was EGR removal, I drove it before and straight after, it was a massive difference and the EGR/intake was filthy with soot, no good for the engine. Before it came off it had no real go under 1400rpm (also thought potential lag) but when the EGR came off it picked up around 800rpm and now 1st gear performance is insane! I have a 7 stage map programme on it (changeable on my phone via bluetooth) so on '1' it has 211hp/333lbft and I get 500-600 miles range (if driven like Lance Stroll!) but on '7' it produces 304hp/444lbft and that's plenty enough for track days believe me. Do you guys do Track Days much? Need an Instructor?? 🤗 Cheers, Oliver

​@@accelerateyoutube I have owned my unmodified 2014 SQ5 for 5 years I would say 40-42mpg on a steady motorway run (27-29 towing), maybe low 20s on short runs/around town.

I've had it just over 1 year, great car pulls like a train, and great MPG

What did you replace it with?

Vice versa, I bought 60k km driven 2016 sq5 with all the options for 13k.i was a bit worried about reliability. But no issues till date and the most fuel efficient 6 cylinder that i have driven till date especially at higher speeds.

@@gaara4667 a 2020 Cayenne S, which has now just been replaced with a 2024 Taycan 4S Cross Turismo. Collect it on Monday :)

Is that same gearbox as the new BMW,s?

@@accelerateyoutube I think from 2015 they did change to AdBlue. They have a nice sound for a diesel engine, apparently it comes from a speaker under the car

@@way2move510 The AdBlue came in for the Euro Cap Emissions - late16 plate onwards, i'm on my second B5 SQ5,15 plate & now a 17 Plate Plus+, yes there are 2x sound Generators/speakers in the twin Tail System...... plumbed in to give a Better deeper Bass

Dpf egr delete and stage 1 remap, gearbox service and major service on the engine with a bit of liquimoly, let me know how it goes

Very much appreciated. 🙏 The owner did actually leave the car with us. The gentlemen you see in the back of the car is a friend/assistant to the channel. I do understand what you're saying, we could have been a bit more critical and will certainly keep it in mind for the next review. We may have been simply too excited for our first review, and that of such a surprising car lol I am very old school and prefer older cars/technology, including torque converts. @@accelerateyoutube Cant beat a torque converter for daily driving, nothing comes close to the smoothness & you can even even reverse a trailer uphill without killing the transmission, not like a DCT or CVT

@@accelerateyoutube Oil loss(About a qt/week): I replaced the valve cover gasket, but it kept losing oil. Next step is PCV, and I’ll do the thermostat and water pump while the supercharger is off.

@@ka3axka370 It wasn’t the PCV. Just burning past the piston rings, and general sweating. Ended up getting rear-ended and totaled around 230k miles. Picked up a 2016 A6 3.0T CREC and 2017 Q7 3.0T. Both just above 100k miles and no oil issues yet. Knock on wood.

BMWs are trash. They break all the time. AUDIs are solid built cars.

I’ve owned both including the 40d and there is no comparison. My wife has one of these and this spanks the x5!

The BMW is made in jesusland or USA if you want. The Audi is made in Germany. It has a massive impact on the build quality of the vehicles as a whole and the interior specifically.

What did you end up with in the end mate? Having the same dilemma but think it's gonna be this
