Don't know about Ireland. But Scotland has a long, Long way to go before we give up our diesels. We are set in our ways here, we listen to Radio Clyde, vote SNP and love diesels. And that trend isn't going to change anytime soon.
Till EV's break, the 1,000 km barrier and really costings are transparent then ICE will remain the dominant drivetrain for all "Cars". Another worrying factor in purchasing an EV is the advancements are coming thick n fast with battery technology so WHY would anyone invest loads in buying a car with limited distance only to have that doubled in less than 3 years and basically reduce the value in the vehicle to less than a Euro ???
Well , I just bought one without having done a test drive .... and let me tell you I much prefer the power and torque of the diesel then the petrol version ... it’s absolutely relentless !!! Not to mention the economy you get out of a diesel . 2 things you can opt for adaptive suspension , which is great for a more comfortable ride , however I was told that the standard suspension is better for a more planted ride . 2. Albeit the interior is very nice , it is lacking a lot of extras that should be included in the standard price entry model .... they really come short in that area , unless you pay another nearly 15 k premium for the vorsprung ...
Adaptive suspension is standard with the SQ5 isn't it? With air suspension not an option at all but is offered as standard with the Vorsprung (which I like, were it not for those ridiculous running boards). Could you tell me (because I'm tempted myself), what is the ride like in Comfort mode please. Cheers.
Cobnapint so adaptive air suspension is not standard , it does come with the vursprong package though . I’m just about to swap my 2 month old one for the upgraded vorsprung .
Cobnapint yep mainly for partner , the adaptive suspension provides a slighter softer ride ( UK roads are horrendous) and rear view camera ..... apart from that I love the car !
@@KB-fw8qg Good. Have you driven a Vorsprung? I can feel a Vorsprung coming on myself. I love the black grill, window surrounds and less obvious fake exhaust strip. But the facelift is coming out later this year with a touchscreen, redesigned front and rear design, and (hopefully but not putting all my money on it) the option of air on the base model.
Bob. If you use Car play in this car and want touch screen then use the phone not the screen to enter the destination on google maps. Its quicker and skips the green GO button on the MMI as it starts the route map immediately you press Start on google maps
I have the petrol version of the SQ5, and we are a family of 4, although we were a family of 3 when we purchased the car. There is no room in the back for even another child between 2 car seats. We have a dual pram which takes up most of the boot. We are literally bursting at the seams with this car. Hence I am looking at a SQ7 for a replacement. Yes you can fit a family of four into this car. Comfortably?....thats debatable. Great fun to drive when the family are at home though.
How many people in Ireland can afford 100,000 Euro for a car? What would the resale on this be after 5 years, in Australia Euro cars fall off a cliff resale wise after 5 years. No-one wants to own them without warranty.
Bob one of the most annoying things about Audi and the S and RS models is Audi's continued delay in getting these models to market they usually are 2 years behind the standard models and by then their tech has advanced and thus even though they are the "best" lack the latest. It would be great if they released the "best" RS/S models with the best tech... seems to be a lost opportunity on Audi's side...

Same MMI / Nav in my 2017 A4, which I've got used to. I have the MyAudi app on my phone, where I set the destinination on the app before leaving to go to the car, I then send it to the car, where it's easily retrieved as soon as I sit down. Sounds fiddly, in reality, it's probably how I'd choose to use it anyway. You can also identify a spot on the map and ask it to take you right there. If you're using the Google Maps option, which I do, it'll be up to date and have life traffic info, via the built in sim card. Would I prefer touch screen ? As an option, maybe. I like a physical control. but it would be nice to just touch the screen too.
YUP spot on using the app especially if you have an eircode or if you drop a pin on Google maps and send it to your device then add it is also a foolproof way of getting the correct location and not ending up in a field or worse on a road that's not even been built yet!
oh also forgot I noticed that they are migrating all models over to the new touch screen, I see the A5 2020 model has touch screen for me it's nice but the finger prints on the screen would melt my head so I'm happy not to have touch screen also imagine the kids touching that screen all the time... NO I'd be putting them on the side of the road and leaving them there!
@@joelyons886 - If you're the sort that wipes clean your phone screen then hold it up to the light and moves it around to make sure it's 'really' clean (like I am), this wouldn't please you. I think we choose an Audi because of the quality of the interior, so I'm also thinking the old screen cleaning cloth would be working overtime in here if it was a touch screen.
@@zilspeed hahaha so true I get given out to by my wife n kid when I give them the look... "don't effin touch that!" "did you clean you hands?" and then there is the worst ever... STICKY FINGERS... I do have a great one though... A Badger brush! It's a must for all cars you can brush everything and it takes the dust off surfaces without having to use a microfibre and it also gets into small places and air vents. I had a shaving kit that I never used the brush then my young one as a joke started to use it and it was like YES that is ******* brilliant, so try it you'll be super impressed!

Have to disagree - I get ~36 mpg from an A7 326HP competition (3.0 TDI bitdi) - driven hard, easily over 40 mpg under normal driving. Any petrol engine of the same HP will be low to mid 20's mpg. And the torque is significantly higher in the Diesel also - making for an effortless acceleration in higher gears at lower rpm.
